    Djinn

I don't get any metallic or cinnamon scents from Djinn at all. On me, it's a warm, "golden," slightly smokey scent. One of the other reviewers mentioned "salty," and I think that fits as well. I rather like it, though I don't know how much I would wear it.

    March Hare

I adore March Hare. It smells like a fresh, juicy apricot and spice pastry. Utterly mouthwatering. Of course, when I asked my brother, he thought it smelled "artificial". Pah. Boys. What do they know, anyway?

    Casanova

To the Totally Uneducated Nose: In the vial: Onions? Heavy cooking spices, definitely. Smells like something I'd love to eat (Indian food? maybe?) but definitely not to smell like. Wet, on: Curry powder that quickly changes to lavender and some other herbal something. Drydown: This smells a lot like my best friend's cologne. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. I didn't like his cologne at first, but it sort of grew on me. He absolutely refuses to tell anyone what he wears, so I couldn't say exactly what it smells like, but I sort of like it. There's still an undercurrent of curry, though. Overall: I might keep this for the scent association, but certainly not to wear out and about. It's making me rather hungry.

    Hamadryad

In the vial and on my skin, Hamadryad smells like Pepto-Bismol. Not an unpleasant scent, necessarily, but not something I enjoy smelling. It disappears after a few minutes, leaving a pleasant but nondescript floral/woody/powder sort of smell.

    Traveling with BPAL

On my recent trips, I packed all my imps and things into an altoids tin with a bit of padding and put the tin in my baggie. As with everyone else, no trouble at all.
  6. I'm currently waffling about Bewitched, Dee, Poisoned Apple (well, it's not specifically Harry Potter, but it is very fairy-tale ish), and thinking about trying to make Boomslang work. The Snake Oil in it hates me, but maybe in a locket...
  7. I SO can't wait for this book. And the first thing that comes to mind is Snake Oil, though it doesn't work at all on me and I likely won't be wearing it. For Nagini and Slytherin and all that, you know. I'll have to ponder some more... it's certainly an excellent question! (edited because I'm out of my mind)

    Frumious Bandersnatch

I'm just now starting to get into fruity scents, and I'm amazed at how dribbly and juicy some of these smell. Anyway, Frumious Bandersnatch is spicy, juicy, yummy, plum-flavored bubblegum. And yet, I love it.

    Inferno

Let me first say that cherries do dark, unholy, unspeakable things on my skin. I HATE cherries. That said, Inferno is ALL cherry. Eventually, I get a touch of cinnamon and almond, but for the most part, it remains cherrycherrycherryness. Not a good thing for me. Shame - I love the concept behind it.

    Talvikuu

Skeletal limbs of birch and fir coated in a thick, impenetrable blanket of snow. This is the death of the year personified. Oh, this is wonderful. Wet, Talvikuu smells very woodsy and icy. Initially, it's really strong and tends to make me a bit sneezy, but once it dries down, it turns into this gorgeous, cold, sweet pine. I want to try it as a room scent, but I'm not sure that I want to sacrifice any of it! As for the comparison to Nuclear Winter, I definitely get some of that, but Nuclear Winter is like minty flowers, whereas this is slightly minty trees.

    F5

in the bottle: F5 smells almost like some perfume my mom wears - very mature (but not old-lady-ish) and pretty. on my skin: this is a really light, citrusy, refreshing scent. It would be a good room scent. overall: pretty, but not something I would ever wear.

    Brimstone

This is really intriguing. It actually does smell smoky and hot - which I didn't think was possible for a perfume. It is very acrid, and it actually sort of burns my nostrils. On the other hand, my friend thinks it smells like flowery old lady perfume. Burning flowers, perhaps.

    Glasgow

I had high hopes for this one, but on me it smells like toothpaste. Maybe berry toothpaste, possibly. It's not particularly minty - I guess it's like toothpaste that's been used, when it's all frothy and no longer has much of a taste. That's a totally nasty mental picture, but there you are.

    Nosferatu

in the imp: MoonlightGdess said it perfectly: fresh-scented toilet cleaner. on my skin: dirt and water, but with something that really nauseates me. I have no idea what to call it. overall: a definite NO.

    Mag Mell

in the imp: Lemon Pledge. on my skin: Lemon Pledge. I love cleanliness, but I'm not sure I like to smell like a cleaner.
