    Bat of Good Death

Bat of Good Death is all resins, coconut and cedar. Chamomile brings sweetness to resins, and the coconut adds a tropical note to a blend that is becoming really herbal on my skin. Sniffing my skin, it reminds me of Bony Moon, Mole, and The little Sparrow. There is something in all three that is very familiar to my nose, especially since all three were some of my favorites lately. The more I smell this, the more comfortable I get, and the dryness of the wood, with the coconut and sweet resins has instant calming effect. I need more of this.

    Bat of Wealth

Wowza. This is stunning. Right off the bat (haha) this is all pomegranate and blackberry. It has fizzy note, and it feels like I just poured some fruity cocktail all over my skin. It is cool and very refreshing. After a few moments the fizzy note fades away and the earthiness from the patchouli kicks in. I love how it instantly tempers the sweetness and somehow the bergamot and heliotrope slink in afterwards, but not overshadowing the fruits or the patchouli. Bat of Wealth is beautiful and kinda reminds of berry picking up north. The sweetness of the fruits mingles with earthy patchouli and together they combine beautifully.

    Velvet Dogs Playing Poker

Velvet dogs playing poker is sweetened coffee spilt over polished wood with smoke. I adore how it smells, but this one is the same as chocolate oils. My hubby hates the smell of it. Maybe a little to foody for my liking this is going to make an excellent room spray, and will smell fabulous in the oil burner. Plus it is making me extremely hungry!

    Velvet Pink Kitty

Fun, light hearted blend. Hints of strawberry and rock candy mingle with gin to create a fizzy, pink drink that is perfect for the summer. I love how the gin & vermouth balance out the sweetness of Velvet pink kitty, otherwise this could of been a little too sweet for my liking.

    Velvet Panther

Dark, sinister, sexy and creamy. This has to be one of my favorites. Velvet panther is spicy & slightly smoky from the vetiver, barely sweetened with black vanilla. Violet leaf and king mandarin add just a little more sweetness, and unlike Velvet Tiger, vetiver is in the background from beginning to finish. OMG, I can't stop huffing my wrists. This is sleek and sensual, woodsy and incrediably sexy.

    Velvet Tiger

Vetiver and satsuma. In fact a little too much vetiver at the beginning, but I was pleasantly surprised when it actually calmed down. Vetiver doesn't usually do that for me. I don't mind vetiver, and if people can just get past the initial shock of it yelling when it hits your skin and you love spicy citrus with amber and teak, you are going to love Velvet Tiger. It is so different than anything I have smelt before. It's sweet and sour, earthy yet bright and citrussy, and with the addition of amber and teak this is sexy. Well done Beth. well done!

Chaos Theory V: Recursive Self Similarity v4

CCC1 Straight from the lab I sniffed this when I first got and was pretty sure the lab sent me a 5ml bottle of Robitussen DM cough syrup. Yup, I was sad. I only ordered 1 CT, and it had to be a Snake Oil CT. So fast forward to today, I am finally testing it...and it is still Snake Oil Cough Syrup. Oh well.

    Giallo

Yep, it's sultry and dark, and heavy. It also has one of my most hated notes - jasmine and one that can be really iffy - pacthouli. Interestingly enough neither are really prevalent, and if they are, they combine with the others really well. Giallo is complex. It is resinous, yet floral, it is deep and dark, yet pretty and girly. Black amber, smoky vanilla, tobacco, benzoin and orange blossom are the winners of this blend and hints of mandarin and plum are the afternotes that tuen this dark blend into a more light hearted one. I think a bottle is in order.

    Velvet Tiki

A tropical floral explosion sweetened even more with lush fruits and vanilla bean. OMG this is stunning. Vibrant, lush, and totally screams tropical vacation. This is definitely a summer scent, and not one note is more prevalent than the other. Sadly it doesn't last very long, but I think it's because I didn't moisturize enough today.

    Bat of Health

Bat of Health is stunning. Totally reminds me of Stimulating Sassafras, but very different in it's own way. BoH is softer, creamier and sweeter. I love how this morpher turns sweet, but then on another sniff has this beautful herbal quality to it. Sassafras, fig and juniper berry are the only notes I can really detect on their own, but that doesn't really matter here, as they all meld together to create a scent I adore.

    Bat of Virtue

Wow. Right from the start, this is all strawberry, huckleberry and just the slightest whisper of violet. As Bat of Virtue dries down, the juiciness of strawberry and huckleberry die down and violet and frankincense prevail. I barely detect the star anise, but it does add a hint of spice in the background. I love how this morphs. At first this is a juicy ripe berry, that turns into a muted floral resin. Beautiful.

    Bayou

Heedy, lush greens and sweet aquatics. On initial application Bayou is very overwhelming. You can smell the moss and flowers and swamp blooms, and together all three create a very powerful scent. As it dries down the sweetness of the aquatics mingles with spanish moss, evergreen and cypress and becomes a sweet green herbal scent that I adore. Thankfully for my skin chemistry the flowers and swamp blooms move to the background, otherwise Bayou would be a little bit too much for my liking.

    Dorian

Ahh Dorian. Such a beautiful lemon sugared tea with hints of musk and vanilla. One of my favorite scents. The vanilla plays nice, and the pale musks remain prevalent but not overpowering at all. Altogether the notes combine seamlessly and provide so much comfort and familarity while wearing it.

    Dirty

Really the description of Dirty nails it on the head. This is clean linens drying in the wind. Slighlty floral, slightly aquatic, Dirty is the perfect scent to wear on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Crisp, refreshing, and the perfect scent to wear while lying in bed in your jammies witha furball or mate!

    Sea of Glass

Simply a clean, aquatic floral. It is soft, pretty and very understated. At first on initial application it is on the strong side, but after a few minutes it mellows out, and I am left with a soft florals and air. Love it.

    Bewitched

I adore this blend. Berries and green tea with a herbal bite. It is dewy, refreshing, wet and very fruity. Bewitched has a bubbly feel to it as well. Almost like there is champagne inside. I swear if I could drink it I would. It is simply straight up a berry green tea ice tea. Musk really does not play any part in this blend, so I wonder if it is my skin chemistry.

    Envy

I don't think that there is a more perfect scent for summer than envy. It is cool, crisp, and refreshing. It reminds me of drinking mojitos's on my balcony, pruning my lavender plants after it rains. Envy is alos a great sleeptime scent, when it is tooo fleipping hot to sleep in the dead of summer.

    Juliet

Juliet is one of those scents that I look at the notes and think uh-oh, floral explosion. Will it work. Yes and no. A fresh juliet is absolutely stunning. The notes are beautifully blended and not one flower is dominant. The pear adds a hint of dimension and combined with notes such as the sweet pea and heliotrope turn juliet into a fresh, dewy floral. Old juliet is something else. It's too musky and overwhelmingly LILY. Once I get past the lily, I smell motor oil. Whaaaat. Unfortunately all of my imps of Juliet are at least 2+ years old. I am craving some fresh stuff.

    Moon Rose

Moon Rose is probably my favorite rose scent ever. It is so incredibly delicate, soft and feminine. Rose and moonflower balance together so well that it comes off as sweet florals rather than overpowering grandma. It is innocent yet sexy, soft and very understated.

    Red Phoenix

A sensual, spicy sweet scent. Cinnamon spicy, yet there is no cinnamon. Tonka and benzoin combined with wild plum and mandarin really stand out for me. Red musk, while one of the main notes is sitting quietly in the background which is just fine with me, as musk especially red musk can be very overwhelming. Patchouli is also right on the cusp, and gives the spicy sweetness a little depth and earthiness. Overall a very wearable scent, but feels too heavy this time of year.

    Velvet Unicorn

Girly, pink and sweet. Strawberries and spun sugar are the two main notes and together they are very soft. Unfortuantely it doesn;t last very long, but I am pleased that this is a fluffy sweet scent, rather than caramel/burnt sugar sweet scent.

    Velvet Clown

An oddball combination of notes that really leaves you feeling speechless. For some reason they meld together seamlessly. I can smell the various candy and peanuts and I get whiffs of the rum. To me the rum along with scorched marsmallows brings scent memories of sugar skull and sticky pillowcase to mind. Cigar smoke and greasepaint are prevalent, but to be honest the smokiness of the candy overpowers everything else. Not sure I'll need a bottle, a decant will be enough.

    Velvet Cthulhu

Velvet Cthulhu screams spring. Herbal, green, dewy with a slight perfume-y edge. I can smell the Wasibi, coriander and white sage right off the bat. Tea and cedar follow closely behind, and mingled with the cedar are whiffs of myrrh and frankincense. On initial application Cthulhu is very bright and maybe a tad too agressive, however as it dries down, the green lushness wears off and the resins kick in and I am left with a resiny-cedar blend with coriander and sage. I adore it.

    Velvet Nudie

Sweet, and sensual with a hints of citrus and florals. It bears repeating but Velvet Nudie is a soft and clean. Freshly washed skin that was kissed by lemons. This is gorgeous and multiple bottle worthy.

    Velvet Bandito

Sweet tobacco, a hint of cedar and the unmistakeable smell of cloves. I can see the comparisons to Skinny dip, Chai, and even potion for that matter. However that being said, there is just something about Velvet Bandito that makes it its own scent. It will definitely layer well with the 3 for sure. It is sweet and spicy, and they both compliment each other, but underneath the sweetness is a masculine feel. Velvet Bandito also feels wintery and warm, and right now just feels out of place, now that spring is here.
