Left His Nurse While In a Crowd

Creamy lemon tea with strawberry chocolates & cake. The milk chocolate is almost non-existent. The berries, however are very dominant. Their sweet, ripe and really juicy. This is spectacular. I thought that maybe there were too many notes going on, for any single one of them to be identifiable. This is simply not the case. The tea is creamy, with hints of lemon and the cake & berries stand out.

    A Farewell to False Love

Dry, herbally lavender. It is almost straight up lavender and combined with balsam it adds this woodsy feel. The balsam also adds dryness. Once it has a chance to drydown the balsam tapers off, the violet and narcissus appear and together with the lavender seem to morph into this very soft herbal floral blend.

    Her Voice

Green stems, fresh air, and then all of sudden a burst of florals come through. It's hard to pinpoint certain florals, but there are a few that really standout. Tiger lilies, roses, hyacinth and the unmistakeable smell of spicy carnations. As it dries down vanilla amber creeps in and tempers the florals giving hints of golden, creamy sweetness. Overall this is a spicy, sweet, creamy floral with hints of greenery and spring.

    Valentine of Rome

Herbal, woods, resins and incense. Kinda reminds me of Midnight Mass in a way. Except Valentine of Rome is definitely more woodsy. It's the cypress, and together with frankincense and myrrh make this really spicy, yet thick incense blend.

The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife

This is one of those blends where 1 note is so damn iffy on your skin, that you can't decide whether you absolutely love it or can't really stand it. Seaweed, mint and ambergris are notes of love. Honey can be so-so. However, as time rolls by, scents age, tastes change...you know the drill. Now that a couple of years have passed and I didn't buy a bottle, I am pulling out the decant to re-test and of course it is stunning. Airy, light, aquatic, minty, perfumey and the honey. OMG the honey note. It is so freaking sexy. Thick, golden honey, seaweed and ambergris. It's perfect, and I'll treasure my decant as long as I can.

    Barmbrack Atmosphere Spray

Sweet & spicy fruit bread. Just baked, warm, and really delicious.

    Sue's Great Old Puppet Show

Creamy, milky hot chocolate sweetened with marshmallows. The felt smells fuzzy and dusty and the glue helps temper the sweetness. I swear I can smell a hint of coffee and coconut but it could just be the creaminess of the blend.

    Story Time at Dark Delicacies

Bone dry oak, with whiffs of well worn leather, dusty paper and lemon. It's woodsy, herbal and very soothing. The incense is almost non-existant to my nose, but every once in awhile I can catch just a hint of it. It's the same with the lemon cookies, their barely noticeable, but they add to the aromatic herbs. I find this to be very soft on my skin, which confuses me, because most of the time woods, herbals, leather and incense amp.

    Ü Mütter Museum

Bam! Right off the start this is all balsam. Green, sweet, woody...heavenly. After drydown the balsams seem to burn off and move to the background, and in it's place leather and vanilla appear. The vanilla is slightly sweet, the leathers are well worn and broken in. Leather is not prominent, just present. Together they meld with the woody balsam and leave behind a beautifully blended scent. This is simply gorgeous.

    Budding Moon

Spicy musk, plum blossom and peony. It's light, fresh, yet spicy and deep. Mainly this is sweet florals, delicate musk and ginger. Absolutely beautiful, and very fitting for the weather we've been having.

    Tamamo-no-Mae

Skin musk and sandalwood combines with ginger and white tea. Slightly spicy, and kind of astringent, Tamamo-no-Mae is a close to skin scent with gingery sandalwood. It's clear, bright and very peppy. My only regret is not reviewing this when I bought it from the lab, because it has definitely become more sharper.

    Rose Moon

Upon initial application this is a soft, delicate bouquet of roses with just the slightest hints of violet, balsam and lemon. After it has a chance to drydown, the roses really bloom on my skin. They go from being soft and delicate to heady, lush and very velvety. The citrus note tapers off, while the honey and blue lilac come to the forefront. Patchouli leaf adds spice and earthiness. Overall a beautiful rose blend.

    Desdemona

Sweet delicate florals. The lily is the most dominant. It's aquatic, and combined with the spiciness from the carnation almost seem to drown out the sweet pea. It is very soft, and almost disappears as soon as it was applied. It's not bad, but I wish the carnation and sweet pea were more agressive.

What do bottles and labels look like?

I have heard Womb Fury has two different labels. Now that the lupers are trickling in, does anyone have pic's?

    The Presence of Love

Predominantly rose amber and bright white musk. Pink grapefruit is present but only for a short moment before the jasmine enters and surprisingly does not wreak havoc like she usually does. Unfortunately after awhile the amber all but disappears along with the grapefruit and this winds up being a rosey musk with whiffs of jasmine. Pretty but not really my thing.

    Parlement of Foules

2008 version Delicate rose and thick, golden resins. It reminds me alot of the Unity Set. The rose is at first the only thing that I can smell. Once it has time to dry the resins appear and together they morph into a stunning blend.

    Red Lantern

This has alot of notes I love, but once caramel enters the picture, it swoops in and overrides everything. It takes a great deal of morphing before it finally settles down and allows the other notes to come out and play. When it does, golden amber, tobacco, black coconut and the asian spices are at the forefront. It's sweet & spicy and the coconut adds a touch of tropics to an otherwise thick, sensual scent. Unfortunately the rich caramel is too heavy and too overwhelming for me to make it through the morphing stage.

    Proshitapathika

Lemon verbena, musk and anise combine together to make a sweet citrus musk with slight floral undertones. Lemon candies is a great description of Proshitapathika. It's a perfect summertime scent. Bright, sweet, lemony and very happy.

    Smut

Fresh Smut - bad. Aged Smut - Heavenly. When fresh, the red musk in Smut takes over the entire blend and mixed with boozy sugar gives off a caramel note of doom with my skin chemistry. However, when aged Smut is a golorious combination of ever so sweet musks that cling to the skin and produces this amazing sensual, velvet scent that sings.

    Harikata

Sweet and spicy vanilla musk. It sticks extremely close to the skin, and is sensual and smooth. While the honey is sweet and thick, the ginger is a perfect balance for it. Vanilla flower and Osmanthus seem to amp the musk in a really good way.

    Dolce Stil Nuovo

Spicy carnations combine with roses and golden amber to produce a sexy feminine blend. The jasmine (a deal breaker note) is barely present, and alongside lavender stay firmly in the background. The lavender however gives a faint herbal vibe that never seems to diminish. White musk adds clarity and brightness, & almost seems to enhance the rose even moreso. Overall a very pretty floral that is slightly spicy, warm and golden.

    The Oblation

I adore this blend. Lavender & blackberries drizzled in honey. The dianthus lends spice and together they all meld into this perfect fruity/herbal yet spicy sweet perfume that is perfect in every way. Not one note overwhelms the other. Stunning.

    Love's Philosophy

Super spicy vanilla. it's creamy and the resemblance to rootbeer is there. However, it is not in your face rootbeer, just an underlying tone of it. This isn't a very heavy scent, just a creamy, spicy vanilla that works with my skin chemistry.

    Dreadful Lies

It doesn't get any better than this. I adore amber, and this is no exception. Soft, snuggly golden amber mixes with cognac and tagette. It is sensual, slinky and just slightly boozy. Any fan of BPAL amber needs this blend.
