Hmm, this is very interesting on my skin. Before reading the actual ingredients, I thought SEDR was eucalyptus mixed with pepper. But really, I can definitely smell the "piquant citrus" and some of the lavender coming through. This was a freebie from the Lab, and while I will not buy a bottle, it's a unique scent that may be good in a relaxing bath. It's not unpleasant but not how I generally want to smell.
-
This is a soft, warm scent. I definitely get soft myrrh and subdued almonds. It's pretty enough, but it's not amazing. I will use up my imp, though.
-
I received this as a Lab freebie. It is strong but not overbearing. It has AMAZING staying power on me (going on 12 hours now). It smells of patchouli with a hint of freshness (must be the orange). It's an interesting, rich scent, and I will not buy a bottle, but I will use up the imp within the coming autumn months.

I received this as a freebie from BPAL, and I have to say that I thought I would absolutely hate it from the name alone. While I don't LOVE it and won't be purchasing a bottle, I do think it's a cool scent: wet earth with a drydown to aged roses. Get it if you like dirt and rose scents.

... This oil contains the innocence of the Garden, coupled with the Truth and Erudition found in the fruit of the Tree of Evil: fig leaf, fig fruit, honeyed almond milk, toasted coconut and sandalwood. Mmm, figgy-cherry-almondy goodness! (Really, if you like any of those notes, or if your skin amps them in a good way, try an imp of Eden!) I also get a quite strong whiff of coconut. This is a lovely, clean scent reminiscent of summertime, and it captures what so many body sprays and whatnot try to, but without being cloying. This is possibly worth a bottle for me.

My skin just eats up this scent. Not two hours after applying it, I can barely smell a trace of it. When wet, it's pretty strong and rather spicy on me, and there's a quick but lovely cream drydown. After that, nada! Alas, no bottle for me!

Rose to the third power, yes! This scent is exactly how others have described it: rosy, wet, green, lush, ROSEROSEROSE. I really did not care much for rose formulations prior to BPAL, but Beth is truly an artist when it comes to florals, and roses seem to be her specialty! Wonderful scent for true-blue rose lovers and those apprehensive about roses alike.

So far, these are my favorite honey BPALs: Tiger Lily (love, love, love!) O (a musky honey) Jezebel (very similar to O on me) Eos (like a lighter Tiger Lily on me) Dana O'Shee isn't the least bit honey on me; it's nothing but almond extract, as if I poured a bottle of almond oil all over me. Chemistry is funny.
-
This scent rather reminds me of a toned down Tiger Lily: all honey and sweetness and flowery fields and good, warm things. It's comforting and lovely, but it's quite tame. If you like honey and florals, I don't see a reason NOT to try an imp of this!

Hm, yes, Manila somehow encapsulates tropical humidity in a bottle. It's really an interesting scent when wet. The drydown is perfectly nice--a sweet and unassuming fruity scent, reminiscent of bananas--but the wet stage is one of those "how can this possibly be replicated and bottled?!" fragrances. I will definitely use up my imp, but I doubt that I will purchase a bottle. ETA: I think I will purchase a bottle eventually. I wore this today, and it was divine. It's especially great when layered with Comptoir Sud Pacifique's Vanille Banane--lovely combination of bananas!
-
Yup, sweet roses it is. Initially this scent is too rosy for me, but the drydown is absolutely beautiful. It has good staying power, too. If you love rose scents, you should at least have an imp of this, hands down.

Mmm, this is what I expected The Hanging Gardens to be: wet, lush, fruity, sweet. Its dry-down is a tiny bit powdery on me, but it still smells lovely and comforting. A great scent for me!

Edited 10/14/2008: O does not work on me anymore. It smells overly, annoyingly sweet like Skuld. I love BPAL's honeys, but I think the honey in O is different and stronger than the honey in two of my favorites, Eos and Tiger Lily.
-
This smells exactly like a slightly diluted O to me: sweet, light, sexy honey. I like it, but I think O's better. An imp's all I need of old Jez.

This is potpourri on me--not unpleasant, but who wants to smell like potpourri? It also reminds me of Christmas as another reviewer mentioned. I get little to no fruit. PASS.

Floral Recs for those who usually don't like florals
Clementine replied to Neko's topic in Recommendations
Mmm, you may want to give Belle Epoque a try (imp, of course). I cannot guarantee that you will like it, but it's a floral very much tempered by spiciness/oriental notes. I love it! -
This is pure almond extract on my skin. There's no complexity or even the slightest hint of milk or honey (how I wish!). I think I may be having monthly hormonal scent weirdness, though, so I will give this a few more chances, or it will become bath oil!

A venerable voodoo blend, used for purification of the spirit and to amplify positive personal power. Oh yuck, this isn't for me. It was a freebie generously included with my imp order, but whatever's in this (vetiver?) is very off-putting. It's so unpleasantly herbal and medicinal, and it heightens my senses in a bad, bad way.
-
I'm not sure what I was thinking when I chose this for my first imp pack, but it is definitely not me! It's too smoky, leathery and bad-ass. I'm more into pretty orientals and florals mixed with fruit, and this scent is the opposite of everything I usually wear! It makes me think of biker bars. NOT ME!
-
Mmm, yum. This is spicy, flowery, warm and lovely on me. All of the elements come together for a pretty and sexy blend. Great scent!
-
Oh no, I so wanted to love this, but I don't even like it. I don't know if aquatic scents don't agree with me (I haven't tried enough to say), but this smelled like cleaning products on me. The name and description are so appealing, and I have to say that I am very bummed that this scent does not work on me at all!
-
Oh yes, this is a beautiful mixture of flowers and sweet honey. The description is 100% apt. I love this scent because it is so warm and comforting. I purchased a 10 mL after a few wears from my imp! Love, LOVE!

On me, Katharina is all bright and sharp apricots and peaches. It's very sweet. I love fruity scents, but this is too fruity for me. It has great lasting power and decent throw. I will use up my imp but will not repurchase.
-
This scent was nice but nothing special on me. I really did not get any spiciness or tobacco from it (skin chemistry is a funny thing and never ceases to amaze me!). Perversion overwhelmingly smelled like subdued tonka/vanilla and coconut to me--very pleasant and mild but ultimately forgettable. I would've used up my imp, but I had an incident (impcident?) and it spilled everywhere. No bottle for me.

Gourmand - Foody Scents - General Recommendations
Clementine replied to Morrighana's topic in Recommendations
Perversion is ever-so-slightly foody (coconut/vanilla) on me, but it's very, very mild to my nose. Of course you must try new scents like Cockaigne and the Candy Butcher.
