  1. Once again, I was seduced by a lab prototype and stabbed in the heart by the final version....okay maybe not the heart, but at least the spleen. The final version is a nice strawberry with a hint of creaminess and green. What I loved about the lab's bottle was that it was very green and fresh. The strawberry and dandelion smelled real. This one...yes more like strawberry preserves.

  2. Bottle 1) Wet: Wood and tonka. The wood reminds me the one used in Arcana's Burlesque. Where's my pipesmoke? That was my selling point. Drydown...still the same...no smoke. Not happy.

Bottle 2) Wet: Irish cream, a little wood. Where's my pipesmoke? That was my selling point. Drydown...still the same...no smoke. Not happy.

ETA: Oddly enough, these bottles each smell differently to me. After a while, I get kind of a wet, pipe tobacco. I was hoping it would be more smoky, but it's not.

  3. For some odd reason, I don't actually get coconut from this. Kind of disappointing because I love coconut notes. On me, this is definitely white chocolate warmed by marshmellow. I have problems wearing some chocolate notes (like Milk Chocolate Buttercream, Bliss, and Candy Butcher), but this white chocolate wear beautifully on me. I think it's going to be one of my comfort scents.

  4. I now understand what all the fuss is about.

At first huff and application, I totally got the green grass and dandelion. Better than Blade of Grass. Better than Down the Rabbit Hole. This is just perfectly balanced between sharp grass and slight sweetness of dandelion.

Sadly, once it dries down, it pretty much vanishes. I would love to have this in a room spray! I live in Los Angeles and we don't have trees and grass here like my home Chicago. But for now, I'll have to treat it like Rose Red and dab it in my hair and on light bulbs.

  5. Tissue is definitely rice paper and honey to me. I'm not really sure how gardenia is supposed to smell, but this isn't too floral. It actually reminds me a lot of Harikata, but a bit more subdued. Kind of like clean skin. Almost soapy, but not. This would make for a nice, fresh-out-of-the-shower kind of scent.

  6. Band-Aids? Yeah, maybe that describes it.

    Samhain 04:

Okay this is one of the strangest experiences that I've ever had with a perfume. It smells different when I just randomly get a whiff versus when I huff my wrists directly. When I sniff directly, I get that rubber/band-aid smell. At first I was mad thinking, "This doesn't smell like what I got at the trunk show..." But it was the same bottle! What the hell?

So I put it on and wear it, and now when I just kind of get a whiff, it smells like lovely apple cider. I think I'll just not wear it on my wrists and only wear it on my neck.

  7. I never thought that I would ever like a tobacco scent...I was wrong.

I love "smoky" scents, but tobacco was always a killer note for me. I heard so many dazzling reviews that I finally decided to try it for the heck of it through a swap. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. This reminds me of a sweet cigar. I don't get cinnamon at all. Maybe somewhat coffee? But to me, it's mostly a sweet cigar which reminds me of my favorite anime character, Integra "Teggy" Hellsing.

    Mmm...sexy.

  8. Champagne, chocolate, and cheap sex.

    Champagne...check
    Chocolate...check
    Cheap Sex...???

When I put this on, I could clearly detect the sparkling sweet champagne note. The chocolate is the same kind found in Gelt. I couldn't tell what made the "cheap sex" because those were the only two notes I could detect. Perhaps someone with more time to test than I can provide those details.

I really liked this at first because the champage/chocolate combo was really interesting. However, I found it to be a little too sweet for my taste and ended up getting Champagne and Cigars instead. I also found that the chocolate note faded not too long after application which I found a little disappointing. With the right skin chemistry or even in a locket, this would smell quite swoon-worthy.

  9. Champagne and Cigars

    No official description available.

This scent concerned be a bit because I generally don't care for tobacco notes. C&C has a dominant, sparkling champagne note with a bit of cigar smoke over it (more of an herbal smoke than dirty). The smokiness balances out the overpowering sweetness of the champagne, but unfortunately it doesn't last and it mostly ended up pure chapagne on me. But I gotta say that the note stays pretty true and doesn't transform too much.

  10. A perfect combination of Egg Nog and Miskatonic University, dead on.

I'd have to disagree. It has the same coffee note, but not the Irish creme element. Instead, the sweetness comes from the Egg Nog. For those of you who have tried Egg Nog 07, this is very much the same scent. It balances out the bitterness of the coffee nicely; unfortunately, like its predecessor, it's not nearly as potent as I'd hoped. Still for me, it's a keeper.

  11. I'm still on the fence with this one. I got it in a swap and don't regret it. The pancake part smells nice and fluffy, but it's overpowered by the boysenberry and well...the berry just isn't doing it for me. Maybe a different kind of syrup would make me happier. Or just none.

ETA: I put it on last night and could still smell it the next morning. Dayum. It's not a potent scent, but it sure lasts!

  12. Glowing Vulva is very much a creamy amber on me. It reminds me a bit of Black Opal which has the same kind of smooth, powdery-ness to it. I can see why people love it, but I'm happy with just an imp for when the mood strikes. Vanilla fans who like Love's Philosophy will like this.

PS: My boy cat seems to really like it. He sniffed my hand for a bit then started licking me.

  13. I tried this one on at willcall and kept sniffing it. To me, it felt like middle ground between last year's P3 and P5, both of which I adore. I bought my bottle, and it smelled completely different than the lab's so I don't know if I mixed it up or if the blend was different.

Anyway, the final bottle was definately leather and pumpkin on me. More of a real pumpkin rather than a sweet or spicy one. Sadly, my body really amps leather, so this just didn't do it for me.

  14. I'm kicking myself for choosing another oil over this last night at willcall.

It's definately fresh grass, warm, but not dry. Not wet either. Just a lovely backyard on a sunny day. I used to adore the old grass scent by Victoria's Secret (I'm blanking on the name, but I think it was called Spring) and have been hoping for something like this.

  15. I was never in love with Pirate Moon despite being one of the many gals at WC Will Call to croon "Pirate Moooon" into Puddin's ear. It was a bit too astringent for my taste at first, so I'm swapping it, but I decided to give it one last whiff before letting go for some trusted favorites.

To me, it's mostly red musk and a little leather...slightly woody. Definitely a gentleman's scent. Once aged, it's very wearable, natural smelling, and classy. It's not my favorite of the men's scents, but I will give it props now.

I just hope Frederic ages this well!

  16. I tried this on at will call and it reminded me of my beloved Bed of Nails. It was mega chrome and not much else, so I decided to buy it. In a way, that was very silly of me because I don't need more of the same. However, my purchased bottle was far different.

Wet: White tea and a little chrome.

Drydown: A little more chrome comes out, but it's not the POW! metal that I purchased it for.

Dry: I'm surprised...I do like this even though it's a lot different from what I tried. It's a very soft, delicate metallic. Very wearable if you like metal scents (like me!) but don't want something too masculine. I don't smell any gardenia or ambergris, but I'm not trained to decet either of those notes. Mostly, it's chrome and a slightly floral/white tea sweetness.

Me likey. It's a nice change, and I don't have very many "light and feminine" scents.

  17. I just snagged a bottle from the lab's eBay sales. I was really surprised to see the older blue bottle and label.

It's definately inscence and metalic, but there's something a little sweet about it too. It reminds me of Chintimani Dhuppa, but without the OMGPERFUME power that it smacks me with when wet. On my skin, it's on the verge of going plasticy, but thankfully it doesn't.

The only problem is that I keep sniffing it and now my stomach is feeling a bit bothered. Some scents just do that to me.

    Overall, it's like Chintimani Dhuppa's brother...who may be a tranny. It's unisex.

  18. I have mixed feelings about Frederic. He may be one of my favorite roles to sing, but I prefer Doc Constantine to this.

I was worried that Frederic would be OMGCOLOGNE! but it's actually quite subtle. Not too much throw. Nothing headache-inducing. If anything, it's a little smoky on me and fairly soft. Definately a scent for a gentleman or for women who like more unisex blends. I'm not sure if I'm in love with it cause there's something almost rubbery about it (almost), but I definately don't hate it. This might be one of the few I keep simply for collection's sake.

  19. I've been sniffing TKO at the lab during most will calls lately and decided to finally buy my own bottle. As it always happens, mine smelled a bit different than the lab's, and not better. It's decent though. The lab version is much more sugary. Mine is BAM! LAVENDER! with a hint of sugary sweetness. I'm hoping that it just needs some aging.

Still, I am finding that I'm sleeping through the night better since wearing it. I can't say it's helping me to fall asleep though. Very little helps me with that part.
