in the bottle: a very light and subtle creamy spiciness. It smells very yummy, but very faint. Lets hope we get some more on. wet: Mmm... we do get a bit more Light, but rich, spices swirling through a vanilla scented sandalwood. Very warm. dry: The vanilla (musk?) amps and I get a soft, light cloud of spices smoothered with delicious, creamy vanilla musk. I sadly don't get much sandalwood at all or, less sadly, any carnation. overall impression: I do get a tiny bit of the old spice vibe, but in a much prettier, more feminine way. Can we have this in a deodorant please? I know I would wear it! Anyway, as a scent, it is very nice, it is very warm... like the sun beating down over hot sands... so it will be great for winter. It is fairly light though, and while throw is decent, the scent itself is so light that what it throws is not much at all (if that made any sense). I'm going to keep the imp and hope it intensifies some with age. A

in the bottle: butter! Very buttery... with almond and butterscotch? Oh, yes, definitely butterscotch. Very foody (drinky? ) and complex wet: A little less butter, a little more butterscotch, and maybe something fruity? or tangy? or spicy? I think maybe it's the pineapple. dry: N/A overall impression: uh-oh! This is the first time this has happened to me with any bpal, but after only about 15 minutes I found myself getting rather sneezy and tingly in the nose. Maybe it was something else, but I wasn't in love anyway, so it's no great loss. However, it was fun to pick out all those different foods in the wet stage Alas, off to the swaps with ye!

in the bottle: sweeter than I expected. Pure sugary, heavy vanilla with a tinge of light florals wet: the vanilla is less heavy and the smell of linen and light florals comes out just a bit more. dry: still quite sweet, less floral and linen now, and mostly a very clean smelling, yet sugary sweet, vanilla, with just a tiny touch of floral lingering behind. overall impression: this is Like many, I was surprised with how sweet it stayed, while still being a lighter and clean scent. It is a bit powdery, but not at all the sort of powdery I dislike (like how amber sometimes turns on me) but a delicious, slightly milky, soft powder that is just edible! It's very feminine, but to me, doesn't have an "Age group" sort of classification (not girly, not matronly, just right.) It also has decent throw- I have a slightly stuffy nose and can still smell it a bit from a foot away. I had thought since I already have a staple vanilla (Dorian), I wouldn't be needing a bottle of this, but I'm not so sure now... the two are so different, yet both so wonderful! A and half a plus. Haha

in the bottle: mmm... spicy! (go figure, right? ) fresh cinammon, clove, nutmeg and a plethera of more exotic spices that I can't identify wet: Hellooo cinammon! The spices are really fresh, strong, and slightly bitter. They don't smell as if they've been baked into food but as if they are drying under the hot sun just a few feet away from where you are standing. dry: the cinammon and other spices have sweetend a bit, and I get an oddly clean, but still spicy scent from it. Like a cool mountain breeze is blowing over the silk road... or something... how it got there, I don't know. Or maybe it's some sort of wood I'm smelling? Of course, if it were wood, I'd have to say pine... which doesn't seem quite right either. overall impression: This is really spicy and delicious, but I get an odd, very slightly household cleaner undertone from it... weirdo skin. I think I would love my old wooden furniture to smell like this... or maybe my entire apartment... but I'm not so sure about my body... too bad I don't have a burner, or I'd give it a go as a room scent... or maybe I have some nice wooden jewlery I can rub it in to? Although it's light, it still wafts a bit from my skin, and since it smells so clean to me, maybe it's worth a go as a summer spice. B+

in the bottle: mmm... cool, refreshing, almost a little buttery, fruity in the direction of candy/cherry with something else sharp... citrus? This is really complex, I can't get it all at once. wet: whatever was slightly sharp and citrusy comes out a bit more... maybe some of it's bamboo? I can almost smell a little spark of electricity in here too! The "cool mountain air" comes out some as well. There is so much going on... this is great! dry: a lot more subtle than the wet, but still really nice. It is primarily cool mountain air now with that bit of "electricity" and a teeny amount of fruits and florals. overall impression: This is one of the first aquatic/ozones that has agreed with me throughout. While I did stilll like it a lot better wet, the dry down is nice as well because it is so clean and fresh, while still maintaining a little attitude and not smelling like soap/cleaner. It is resonably weak on dry down, but I like it enough to keep the imp for sure A-

in the bottle: a very sweet floral, but not at all in an overpowering or strong way. I can definitely detect the floral/berry mix. Very yummy. wet: Something very green comes out on the skin. The berry sweetness underneath is delicious, but the green (iris I guess?) is a bit bitter and not that pleasant. dry: After about a half hour, the bitterness has declined and for the most part, it is a sweet floral. However, when the floral came out, most of the berries went into hiding, which I personally find a bit sad. This is sweet, a tint powdery, and still a little earthy without being cloying. I don't get much amber though... aside from the hint of powder perhaps. overall impression: I guess Florence just really isn't my thing. There were a few minutes during the dry down where I really loved it (when the floral came out and before the berries went away) but now that it is just a slightly bitter floral, I am less than thrilled by it. It does also have a pretty decent throw. I can definitely see this scent being beautiful and upscale on some people, but on me it is mediocre. Or maybe it is just not my taste? Alas, I did rather like the idea of it. B-

in the bottle: mmm. a Dorian/Zephyr mix. Sugary with tea and lemon. wet: I can smell a little sandalwood and sweatpea now, giving the scent a slightler sharper/bitterundertone, but still mostly smell sweet vanilla. dry: still yummy, but it's got it's own thing going on now. I guess the sweetpea and sandalwood make the vanilla more bitter than some, but the amber helps keep it rich and creamy, and on me, a little bit powdery. overall impression: This is yummy, but it's in the same family as Dorian, and I think I like it a tad bit less than Dorian, so no big bottle for me. I do really like the sandalwood undertone though so the imp is surely a keeper though. A

in the bottle: Odd. My first time sniffing anything with Dragon's Blood. I assume I smell that mixed with something fruity... though it also gives me a slightly odd plasticy feeling. wet: Smoky, fruity, smooth, a little spicy... the plasticyness is more waxy now? dry: This scent confuses me. Probably because I'm not familiar with Dragon's Blood... it's fruity and smooth with some vanilla, but it is still rathery plasticy... like plastic cherries? overall impression: This is pretty yummy... but mostly makes me curious about what a single note of Dragon's blood would smell like. On one sniff I really like it, and I really want to like it, something in ther makes me feel like a warm and cozy little kid, but on the next sniff I'm wondering why I smell like cherries and plastic :\ ... like, a cherry crayon? B-

in the bottle: weird. I guess it's pumpkin, but it's just really really odd. It makes me go "ew" and "mmm" in the same sniff. wet: I get a little more "mmm" and a little less "ew" but it still strikes me as rather odd. It kind of reminds me of pumpkin bread, but maybe the baker got the proportions for the recipe just a little bit wrong? dry: YUM! This is mostly spices, and not so much pumpkin, but the spices are really delicious on the dry down. I get a mulled cider sort of feeling, with a little bit of sweet cranberry almost? There's the obvious nutmeg and clove but the spices remain sweet and creamy... maybe it's the peach? overall impression: This is really very yummy. It's foody, and deliciously spicy sweet. It has decent throw and only makes my tummy grumble a little The perfect fall scent. A+

in the bottle: very sunny and golden. Complex florals... a little sharp, but very cheerful smelling. wet: warmer. Very fresh, light, sunny florals. Something slightly bitter underneath. dry: bright, pretty, sweet, and sunny, but it just sort of fades away into my skin. After a while, what's left gets more bitter and kind of reminds me of the generic perfume smell you get when you open a new magazine. Alas. overall impression: Meh. This is decent on me, but I'm not in love and since it is kind of week and generic, I just can't see myself wearing it much when there are so many scents that are so much better on me. Florals were never really my favorite anyway. I may give it another few tries, but most likely my bottle of ELF will be finding a new home. B

in the bottle: amazingly, sexily, sweet and subtle... vanilla, lemon, and wonderful. wet: Strong lemon for a split second and then... mmmm! Delicious, lightly musky vanilla tea. Can I eat my wrist? dry down: This really absorbs into my skin... but somehow, is still there. It's really like a yummy vanilla cake with very light, lemon frosting... there are a few flower petals sprinkled around the cake... but they are hardly apparent. The bit in my hair got a little bit bitter... like maybe someone was smoking a cigarette in the next room. overall impression: Mmmm... I love this. Unfortunetely, my skin eats it up, ... exactly like I want to... It does stay for a long time... but it gets so light that I'm burying my nose into my wrists and hair to get a whiff. Of course, I tested lightly and spent the past few hours doing messy work that involved lots of scrubbing and hand washing, so maybe this guy is good at sticking around after all A+

I was wondering if anyone had/has a picture of an imp, 5ml, and 10ml all next to each other. As a bpal newbie, I have yet to receive the order containing my first 5mls, and will most likely never see a 10ml (unless I decide to get a 10ml only scent, which I don't see being that likely)... so I'm just curious to see the comparison thanks!

Scent only: (I will add to this as soon as I try it out in a social setting ) in the bottle: a bit harsh, but not overwhelming. Definitely getting that bitter-pine that a few people mentioned. wet: still bitter, a bit stronger even, but with an odd sort of sweetness. Like a bit of honeyed amber hidden inside a tall, slowly decaying pine tree. But in a good way... dry down: The honeyed amber scent disappears a bit more. Warming, but with a definite, strong bitterness, pretty hard to explain really. overall impression: It smells nice, but not amazing, bitter pine, with a touch of powdered sweet and resin, but I'm waiting to test it out for its qualities, scent is only secondary. I don't tend to need a lot of help with Charisma most of the time, but I'm really eager to try this out in an audition, as that is where I tend to get nervous. Effectiveness: By george I think this stuff works! Initially I didn't see a noticeable difference, but then again I don't usually need too much Charismatic help. However, today I was sitting in on an (esl) recording session where my supervisor basically suggested I do my best to be a fly on the wall. Well, the director not only asked my opinion more than once, but at lunch break, asked my supervisor if I could sit in with them again tomorrow! It was great! And I definitely felt calmer and more collected than I usually do in this kind of situation. Maybe it's not the Charisma... but then again, maybe it is

in the bottle: ew. ew. ew. This is strong, bitter, harsh, and just all sorts of bad things to my nose. Must be the vetiver, which I've never smelt before. wet: a little better... at least, it's not quite as painful to smell. Kind of reminds me of clean car smell.... but not in a good way :x dry down: pretty much the same as wet, but admitidly I didn't really let it get there... I washed this off after about 15 minutes. overall impression: well, it's certainly not my cup of tea. It's very leathery, bitter, and morbid... which I guess just isn't my taste. It gave me a kind of carsick feeling :|

in the bottle: very well blended.... there's amber in there, but the notes are really hard to pick out. It's very warm and bright. It's also a pretty golden color in the imp wet: very strong... earthy amber. The florals also come out with a bit of power, but still underneath. Pretty heavy... almost veers on the powdery/headachey side. dry: amber laced baby powder... unfortunetley. It's only one note going powdery and I can smell the amber and some other notes trying to cover it up... but the powder is still there. overall impression: I'm still a newbie with skin chemistry, so I'm not sure what's going powdery, but sadly, whatever it is is ruining the scent. Ah well... what can you do?

in the bottle: powerful! Fruity figs, coconuts, and leafy greens.... almond too? All very strong. wet: coconut and fig... a little boozy almost. Very foody... almost gooey with sweetness. dry: still very sweet... mostly milky coconuts and a little honey/almond now. A bit lighter, and not as overpowering. overall impression: I was surprised at how sweet this was. I really thought it would be more woodsy, but it comes across as a very foody scent. It's nice, but it's mostly coconuts on me and I'm not a huge coconut fan, so I don't know about it. I'll definitely give it another chance though. after a few more tries: Starts super fruity, after an hour or two dries to this soft, light coconut musk which leaves me burrying my nose in my wrists and wanting to eat them It went soapy after like 8 hours... but I can handle reapplying after that long. Not what I expected from it, but I like it, despite my usual uncaring for coconut. B+

in the bottle: a bit stinging/potent... florals mixed in a very odd way. I can't really pick anything out... except a hint of something citrusy (I guess the mandarin?) wet: oh, there's the moss... and some damp woodsieness... but there's something really nice in there too... gentle florals I guess... really pretty sweet. Maybe a hint or two of amber and sandalwood? dry: a little woodsy... I actually get more of an amber/sandalwood combo in here than anything else. However, I can certainly smell the light florals mixed in. It's very complex, round, warm, and full. There's something underneath that gives a little pang still, and almost makes a warm, sweet, ticklish feeling in the back of my throat... in a mostly good way. overall impression: This is really very nice. It's very full and gives me a feeling of warm and sleepy pleasantness. I'm not really sure what's going on with this one, but smelling it makes me happy... so I know that must be good. I don't know if it merits a large bottle, but the imp is most definitely a keeper. edit: alright, I wore this to graduation today (not mine, I'm a junior and I was ushering and supporting my friends) and I've got to say... Viola isn't just a scent, it's a sensation! I had my nose glued to my wrists and hair through more than half of the very long ceremony. I'm sure I got some weird looks... but it is just so good! Sadly, I think it makes me to relaxed to wear to work or class... ah well, we'll see

I am going to be placing my first "big bottle" order in the next few days, and I'm a bit confused. Do you need to ask to have reducers or do you need to ask not to have them? Also... best/cheapest supplier for small rollerballs? I've been reading through the thread but it's a bit overwhelming and many of the links no longer work. I should hopefully be getting a decant of charisma in a decant circle, so I'll be able to try it and maybe want to buy my own bottle too

in the bottle: ugh! Am I the only one who gets something rancid and awful from this bottle? I can smell the spices, and the buttered rum, and all that good ness underneath... but something is combining with to make my nose think this is puke worthy wet: a little better, but still grossly overpowering for me. The buttery rum comes out and smells nice and I think I get something butterscotchy too, but this one still isn't agreeing with me. dry: This improves on the dry down, but it's still not for me. The spiciness has come out, and whatever was smelling gross before doesn't attack me, but is still there a little bit. Like, this smells so good, with butter and almonds and spices, but there is an unidentified smell underneath... like a musk gone wrong or something which comes out and attacks me. overall impression: I think my nose has an odd sensitivity to something in this scent. I don't know what. Anyway, this was a frimp, so no great loss... and if it did work, I see it as a bit more masculine anyway. I can definitely see this scent being spicy, buttery, and delicious, but something in my nose just goes "NO! you are not allowed to like this" and it gives me a little bit of a headache

in the bottle: really strong and salty florals. This is a bit soapy as well. wet: woo! These flowers are strong! This is really strong and potent on me in an odd way and I'm definitely still getting some soap. dry down: This turned into a sort of potent, floral laundry detergent on me. Ick. overall impression: Well, I haven't actually tried Alice, so I can't make any comparisons, but I'm sure it's my skin chemistry that mucked this one up and turned it in to detergent. Ah well. Off to the swaps with it.

in the bottle: mmm... whispy florals, very entrancing. Clean and sweet. wet: wow, the florals are a lot stronger than in the bottle... but really beautiful. This is very sweet and almost a little fruity. However, there's something green, bitter, and rather strong and gross underneath but I only get it if I sniff my wrist directly. dry: ohhh, this is gorgeous! Whatever was green and biting before has faded into the background and I am left with a delightful, soft, milky, white floral. It's very soft, and I'm afraid it may disappear on me, but the dry down on this is absolutley gorgeous! overall impression: The bpal description is perfect on this one, and I agree with the first review, this is the Lady Amalthea, the Last Unicorn. I'm not usually a huge floral fan, so the lightness of this perfume is perfect for me. However, it's lightness makes it lack staying power and I can feel it starting to fade after only 30 minutes or so, but I would gladly slather this on (I'll just have to hold my nose until it gets to dry down, haha). I'm about to get dressed (I know, I'm lazy) and this makes me want to put on a long white skirt and spin in circles in a field of flowers until I fall down laughing. This perfume is absolutely sweet, innocent, and giddy. Not me all the time, but definitely a keeper. I just wish it lasted longer.

in the bottle: woo, pepper! and some nice celan florals too. I get a little tea, but not much. wet: ohh, this is nice. The pepper and milk come out, and I get some tea too. Of course, the florals (what? there are florals in here?) are getting stronger, which always seems to happen on me. Very clean smelling... almost bordering on deoderant. I hope it doesn't go there on me. dry: ohh, thankfully, still nice... even better It didn't go the deoderant route, and whatever was making me think of that has thankfully gone away. The tea is gone, and so is a lot of the pepper, and what I'm left with is a milky clean, honey scent, sprinkled with florals, which borders on odd and powdery, but remains subtle and creamy. overall impression: did you ever eat those milk and honey candies with the little bumblebees on the package? White rabbit makes me think of eating one of these while smelling a really pretty flower. It's fairly subtle without much throw, so I'm probably the only one who can smell it, but overall, I'd have to say it's pretty delightful edit: oh, I found them! in the bottle: mmm, fresh, a little citrus, a little mint, really interesting and hard to identify... it's very clean. I really like it. wet: pretty similar to in the bottle, but the floral comes out more. I'm beginning to think that my skin likes florals a lot more than my nose does. I still get a little minty aquatic-ness though, which is nice. And this is wafting pretty nicely from my skin. dry: Still primarily floral on me. If I sniff my wrist directly I get a sort of baby powder scent. This behaved sort of like the dormouse on me... my skin sought out whatever floral was there and made it go *bam* over powering everything else. However, flicking my head back and forth, I notice that a little bit of the great wet scent is still there somewhere. overall impression: baby powder. For the second day in a row, I'm angry at my skin chemisty for liking floral so much. It keeps morphing between what I want this to smell like... and always going back to baby powder. I'm jealous of how good my desk smells from the little oil residue I got on it. Maybe I'll try this in a locket or on the edge of my bra or something to try and maintain more of the wet scent. This is pretty powerful on me too... and seems to have some staying power... if only it didn't have staying powder
