August 2006 Version in the bottle: sweet, burnt sugar, carmael/butterscotch candy with just a little splash of something fruity. wet: THe sugar is less thick and condensed, a bit more perfumey, and just about as sweet. The fruit is hardly noticble, but there is just enough to give something of a tang. dry: sticky, sweet, and syrupy. This is a pretty heavy syrup like I'd want on my waffles, but not a maple syrup, a sugary, fruity one. overall impression: This is yummy, and sweet. But it's a little too gooey for me. While I love sweet and foody scents, something in this is just a little too sweet to be really wearable for me, though it does smell very nice

General citrus recommendations - and discussion of all things orange
Natch replied to UltraViolet's topic in Recommendations
I too would try Zephyr. To me, it's a lemon Dorian, which might make both of you happy -
Oct. 13 2006 Formulation in the bottle: chocolate, orange flowers with a little wood. wet: a little more floral, a little more wood, a little less orange. Still chocolate. This has a lot going on. dry: Wow, a delightful, complex little bugger. There is only a hint of chocolate left, and I get so much more: a little lavender, something that makes me think cucumber/melon, a touch of sandalwood, something else floral, a little something teaish... After 4 or 5 hours this is just my skin, but better. Just a soft, calming, creamy, delicious, enveloping sweetness overall impression: This is a very nice, complex scent. It is rich and deep, while still being clean. It also has a certain relaxing quality to it. While it is not what I was expecting from 13, it is a very pleasant surprise, and I like it a lot

in the bottle: apple. Ripe and juicy. wet: the apple now has an unidentifiable zing, perhaps it's the cranberries? It's a little sour. dry: this is a delightful, crisp, sweet apple. I get a hint of the caramel or something from Creepy, but just a hint- this is much fresher. It's also got a little almost lemon/tangy zing to it. Lovely. overall impression: This is great- the fresh apple I hoped for from the Hesperides (which went rotten on me) and more. It's foody with decent throw, while still being light, crisp, and clean. I'm 2/2 on the Halloweenie scents so far, and I'm so happy. Only problem is, with the Yules and Resurrecteds and CD and GCs... how can I afford it all?

This season’s Ridiculous Scent! As creepy as Spooky was spooky, this is the scent of butterscotch-kissed, caramel-smothered red apples spiked with a blast of coconut rum. in the bottle: buterscotch and carmel apples with just a hint of bubblegum. wet: more of the same, with a touch of salt. dry: light buttery, crsip caramel apple. So simple, yet so wonderful and complex. overall impression: I don't really get any coconut rum from this, but that doesn't stop me from loving it. On me it is a light and pure butterscoth, caramel, candied apple. funny though, I had my mom sniff my wrist and all she gets is coconut

in the bottle: sweet. A resiny rose, that is slightly wooden. wet: Strong throw - a heavily flowered forest. Very rich and deep. Reminds me of something that might be found in an ornate box on a grandmother's dresser. dry: I didn't really make it through much of the dry down because something awkward happens as it morphs. Perhaps this is just not a good skin chemistry day, as this is the second scent gone medicinal and odd on me, and the 3rd that didn't work. Half of my brain wants to like this as an old, but nice, sort of potpourri, the other half thinks it is too heady and confusing too handle. overall impression: After sticking it out a little longer, it is less heady and medicinal, and more wood/rose/potpourri. But it's still not for me. I feel like it belongs on the furniture of an old woman's house... in a mostly good way though. It's funny, as I add this to my swap pile, I noticed that everything that didn't work on me (recently) is somewhat red/darker in color. Coincidence? I don't know.

in the bottle: soft vanilla almonds with a little pine smoke, and patchouli to give it a kick. A tad boozy too... sarsaparilla? wet: a smoky, chewy, almond candy... but clean at the same time. dry: my skin does not do happy things to this. I get a weird medicinal quality which is both unpleasant and familiar, though I can't place it. It's like something out of a doctor's office. overall impression: After smelling this in the imp, and wet, I thought it might be a surprise hit. But, sadly my skin does funny things to it, and the result is a headache inducing medicinal smell. Alas.

in the bottle: deep, rich, sweet incense and red musk. This really smells like the color it is in the vial- a rich red/amber brown wet: sweeter, a little less rich- in a good way. The musk is lighter now and I detect the patchouli now. dry: very strong and good throw. A bit too heady for me perhaps. Mostly musk and patchouli, it's somehow sweet and bitter at the same time. overall impression: This one just isn't for me. It's mostly bitter patchouli, with some musk, and I'm a much sweeter, often foody or fruity, sort of girl. I was hoping the vanilla and plum would come out more on me, but it seems like my skin primarily amps the patchoulli, giving a bitter, herbal, musky scent that I am not too fond of. I'm sure this would be beautiful on the right person, but it's just not for me. Off to the swaps.

in the bottle: A richer Bliss. Plain and simple, delectable chocolate. wet: Dark chocolate with almonds. dry: Rich cocoa and lightly toasted amonds and hazelnuts... a stronger, chocolate Dana O'Shee ?! overall impression: refined, sophisticated, delicious. Chocolate, but so very not. It really is a chocolate Dana O'Shee to my nose... which is a scent I love even more with this chocolate touch. While Bliss made me cringe a little because I just smelled like chocolate and I didn't really want that... this is so much more... I might try layering it with bliss to see what happens, but it is just It does confuse me a little though with it's chocolate but not quality, so I may need to try it a few more times before I take the plunge and get a bottle... but likely, I will... be getting a bottle that is

in the bottle: warm, spicy, cinammon cherry. Cinammon flavored honey sticks, exactly -straight out of my childhood wet: deeper, more cinammon, less cherry. dry: I didn't make it there because this blend irritated my skin. I put it in my hair instead and the wet scent stayed true. overall impression: This scent would have ranked higher with me if it hadn't irritated my skin, but I still really liked it. It stayed pretty true all of the way through, only fading a little. It is delicious, warm, and spicey, and feels very apropriate for yule-tide to me, which is nice because of the absence of foody scents in the yule update this year. I will keep my imp, but probably not get more only because it irritated my skin link tweak --Shollin

Mouse's Long & Sad Tale of course why didn't I think of that? ;P Sadly, it is very inconsistent on me, sometimes it smells absolutley delightful, and sometimes a little bit like pee.

I'm going to be Minnie Mouse (haha, my best friend coaxed me into it, he's being mickey, I think we'll be cute though ^^) - but I'm not sure of a scent yet... Perhaps Antique Lace, or Midway? any ideas?

in the bottle: sugar, a little lemon, and very soft florals. Very pretty, subtle, and sophisticated. wet: much stronger. Can smell some incense now, and slightly stronger florals. A tad powdery. dry: floral!!!! Wow. A sweet, powerful floral- maybe jasmine and others? For a short amount of time I get something almost metallic underneath. Slightly powdery, very lady-like. overall impression: Nice, but I'm not a huge floral fan, yet my skins seems to amp a lot of florals ._. This is one of the few florals I've tried that I actually might wear, as it doesn't go powdery or cloying overkill on me. However, I would reserve this for those special "lady-like" moments- perhaps a cocktail party or a fancy dinner? I may keep this imp, but maybe not. We'll see it. It doesn't merit a bottle on me though. Just too floral for my taste.

in the bottle: lemon zest with darker undertones and some hidden florals. It's pretty and yellow too wet: BAM! LEMON! Sugary lemon. Lemon candies. There's something else underneath, but wet, it's really just lemon. dry: Lemon Pledge overall impression: This is the second lemon scent which has gone lemon pledge on me, and it's sad, since I do like lemon. With Carnaval Diabolique I can sense a lovely depth-dark florals and smoke- underneath that darn pledge, so it makes me sad that the top note is furniture cleaner. This merits another try, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. It's ok, since this isn't one that I was counting on being in love with anyway (I'm generally adverse to darker, smoky things)

in the bottle: upon first sniff in the imp, this just goes "BAM!" It is wonderfully wet, fruity, and sugary, but I can certainly detect that "tropical bubblegum" scent somewhere. I actually get a little salt here too I think... Xanthe's tears? Or maybe it's the pepper. I can also clearly understand the "cherry blow pop" impression. wet: still sweet and delicious, but a little more commercial perfumey/floral. Come back my lovely yummy guavas! I want you! dry: much more subtle and sophisticated () It's still really nice though, a light, peppery, slightly bitter floral with a twinge of cherry blowpop and something aquatic. overall impression: I really liked it's intense fruity, bubblegum sweetness in the imp, and were it like that on my skin, it would have warranted at least 1 5ml, if not multiple bottle hoarding. It's still really nice, but a bit on the bitter, floral side, as opposed to the sweet fruity side. This was just a little sniffer/tester frimp and I'll probably be keeping my full imp when I get it and saving it for summer. But who knows? My opinion could move in either direction p.s. I love the irony of this scent too. Who would have thought a weeping clown would smell so cheery and sweet? But there is that bitterness underneath
