This was one of the first BPAL imps I ever sniffed, and I had an immediate gut-level blech reaction…couldn't stand to sniff it long enough to describe it better than that.

Pele is a very nice white floral, on the sharper side and no sweetness to it. Can't explain it, but I don't find it a relaxing floral scent, maybe because of the sharpness. The scent doesn't morph on me after drydown. It smells like the Elariia gardenia body crème that I have. Very excited for Hi'iaka that is on the 2006 prototype list!

This is a sweet fruity floral, that mellowed to a light strawberry scent. Not too sweet, not offensive, but nothing I'd want to keep.

Oh blech, I really don't like this at all. It went on so very powdery and I didn't smell a fresh ginger smell or a sweeter ginger (Origins type) smell. It was just weird, and I can't describe it, but I got a very gut level yuck reaction with this one. Update: I got a lab frimp of this in my last oder and oh man...that first imp was a dud. This smells sooo good! I finally understand the wonderful reviews...it is a really creamy, lightly sweet, and slightly gingery relaxing scent. May have to get more of this one.

I'm not ambivalent about this one. This smelled like a weird blend of floral and honeydew melon, goes more floral with time. I'm a floral kind of person, but I just really don't like it.

The first time I put it on, it was super sweet at first but mellowed to sweet rosey after 15 min. The second time I put it on, it stayed yucky sweet and got no roses...made me nauseous and had to wash it off. I don't understand what is going on here... But all these wonderful reviews are making me feel like I must certainly have gotten a bad imp and that I need to try it again.

This smells like flatlylike coconut lemongrass. No like. I had a coconut lemongrass FO from sweetcakes that I made soap with and I didn't like that either. This smells very similar to that, a sweet coconut with a sweet lemongrass scent.

I can smell the rose base, but it has a darker smell to it. Smells like an older lady rose scent-and not in a good way. This isn't the rose scent I was looking for. It's got a rose scent but a lot of other scents too, to the point where I don't like it anymore.

A green floral at first, then after drying off, it started smelling very different. It reminds me of Sanrio erasers that I collected as a little girl. I really wanted to like this, because of the name and meaning to me, but I'm just not liking the smell.

This was super sweet, and I couldn't pick out what else it smelled like except sweet. The first time I tried it it wasn't unpleasant and I went about my night. But the second time, it bothered me so much I had to wash it off. It started to smell like a mature lady's perfume. Not old grandma rose, or moth balls or anything.. but still not good.

This started off as a pleasant lemony scent, then sweetened as it mellowed. I am really liking this one, and it's reminding me of something that I can't pinpoint right now. Like this enough for a bottle I think. Remembered...reminds me of the L'Occitane the Vert Menthe.

Oh yeah, I'm going to have to track down a bottle of this. With a single sniff this validated all the swaps/purchases I arranged in the last 2 weeks for BPAL imps before smelling a single one. My rose quest ends here. It starts off as nothing but roses and it stays that way on me...and lasts a good while too. It's the most fabulous rich, warm, rose scent. Not a young girly rose smell…more womanly but definitely short of crotchety old lady. It makes me think of an afternoon spent sitting in an English Queen's garden. Good throw and lasts well. Don't forsee anything that can knock this baby off the pedestal. I couldn't ask anything more...except for it to be in the GC.

Ok, so I've found a rose for me that I absolutely love...of course it's the LE one. Love at first sniff with Peacock Queen. It's exactly what I wanted, it is a rich centifolia type rose smell, very rich and full. Def my fav by far of the rose scents I've tried to far. Peacock Queen - love it, favorite rose scent so far London - like it, but not as much as peacock queen Maiden - like it, but it's not rosey on me, more spicy carnation type scent Persephone - love the rose in this, but instead of pomegranate, on me, it's salami Lucy's Kiss - starts out nice, but the skin scent amps then morphs on me, and ends up smelling like hot kleenex 2,5 & 7 - didn't care for - it was sickly sweet and no rose The Empress - didn't care for - didn't get any rose from this Queen Mab - didn't care for - ditto Blood Rose - didn't care for - really stickly sweet and winey and no rose Update...my chemistry must have changed because Peacock Queen doesn't smell as good as it used to. Or maybe it's just the difference between the imp and the bottle I purchased...I wonder. Was the Peacock Queen sold in two different years? Maybe that's the difference... Eve and Alice and Moon Rose are on their way! Stay tuned....

Hi all, My rose quest is what led me to BPAL, and I'm about to put in my first lab order. I want a scent that is ROSE...unadulterated and unashamed...just straight rose in all it's glory. Tell me if I'm going astray here with my first lab order. London (I think I'm going to take the plunge and get a 5 mL of this one) plus and imp 6-pack with: Maiden Moon Rose Eve Empyreal Mist Jezebel Alice I didn't love Two, Five, Seven. The first time I tried it on, it was super sweet but mellowed into roses after 15 minutes. The next morning I tried it again...it stayed super sweet for hours and I had to wash it off.
