chaos theory LXXXV at first: hmmm...this might have lotus in it. it's a sweet, watery floral. very pretty. on: yup. a sweet, watery floral. i like this a lot. 1 hour later: this is sweeter and a bit soapy. however, it's still mostly a watery floral. 2 hours later: this is more powdery now, and mostly floral. there's a hint of sweetness there. i might also be smelling a bit of lemon or lime. 3 hours later: this is sweet and powdery now, with just a bit of flowers. very nice. overall: i'm glad i got to try this one. it's very interesting and nice. definitely the kind of floral i like. arcana at first: this was tossed in with my order and is definitely something i wouldn't have chosen for myself. i smell something a bit incense-y, which turns quickly into rosemary and lavender with a bite to it. if i had to bet on this one, i'd say i wasn't going to like it. on: wow. lots and lots of lavender and neroli. i think i smell some rosemary, too. interesting. 1 hour later: this fades to a very gentle scent. it's herbal and very calming. 2 hours later: i think i smell a bit of lemon now. this is still a very calming scent. it's nice because it isn't distracting. 3 hours later: this is much lighter, but still herbal. very nice. overall: i may try wearing this when meditating. i won't be getting a bottle, but i'll be using up my imp.

at first: the lab included this in my order. it's definitely very dry and woody, but with a hint of sharp flowers underneath. interesting. on: hmmm...woody, but floral and herbal, too. it's a bit sweet, too, which is nice. half an hour later: interesting. this smells a bit dusty. it's almost like the components are dry, not the real thing. i like this. 1 hour later: this smells a little woody now. interesting. i still like it. 2 hours later: it's going pickle-y. no fun. however, it kind of reminds me of being on one of those inside, air-conditioned rides at disneyworld. you know, the combination of the air conditioning, the electrical stuff, the mustiness, some smokiness. does that make any sense? overall: i guess some woods just don't work well with my skin. this will be swapped.

at first: apples. lots and lots of apples. very nice. on: this is darker on. i think i smell some sort of wood and maybe some herbs, but the main scent is still apples. i really like this. half an hour later: this is great. it's more berry-like now, but with the apples still there. this is gorgeous. 1 hour later: still very, very fruity. i'm so glad i got this one. 2 hours later: fruitiness. wonderful. this is so perfect for the beginning of fall. overall: a great fall scent. i thought the apples would disappear, but they didn't. this is just perfect.

at first: a thick, almost pungent floral. nice, but very heavy. on: this is really nice. a sweet flower, but with a slightly soapy bite to it. fabulous. half an hour later: still sweet, and a bit powdery. it's smells white. very pretty. 1 hour later: i LOVE this. seriously. it's wonderful. sweet, powdery, white. so beautiful. 2 hours later: even more powdery. this is gorgeous. overall: i'll definitely be keeping an eye out for oils with heliotrope in them. this stuff i beautiful.

could it be formula 54? it doesn't sound as heavy as f54, but...worth a shot.

mata hari at first: this was a freebie from the lab. yuck. coffee bean. i hate the smell of coffee. hopefully, this will change once i put it on. on: old coffee grounds. ewww. 1 hour later: hmmm...it's turned into a very interesting floral. it's warm and a bit sweet. much better than the coffee smell. 2 hours later: i smell something more woody, like dried flowers stored in an old wooden box or drawer. dusty. a hint of sweetness. this is nice. 3 hours later: this is soapy, but sweet, too. i'm still getting a dusty smell. it's nice. overall: i most likely wouldn't buy this again, but i'll enjoy using the imp.

alecto at first: weird. almost vegetable-like. reminds me of olive oil, obviously from the olive leaf. i'm going to assume that i won't end up liking this one. on: weird. floral, but a bit...sour, i guess. maybe salty. this is interesting. 1 hour later: this is really bad on me. pickle-like. cedar is evil. 2 hours later: this is awful. it's just...eww. overall: i can't blame the oil, since it's definitely just something my skin does with cedar.

ultraviolet at first: smells metallic to me. i can smell some flowers, but mostly detect the eucalyptus with a bit of mint underlying it. i have the feeling that this would great when one has a cold. on: sharp. definitely eucalyptus. this really clears out one's sinuses. 2 hours later: this is so cleansing. i can't really explain it. overall: i'm not sure if i would wear this as a perfume, but it's great for when i need to clear my head or my sinuses. i may always keep an imp on hand for just those purposes, though.

anne bonny at first: wow. i don't even know how to explain this. it's very intense, definitely a scent for a woman who doesn't take shit from anyone. on: hmmm...definitely alcohol-y, in a sweet way. headily distracting, the way three jacks is to me. i can catch the patchouli and what i think is the sandalwood. however, red patchouli tends to do bad things on me, so...i'm not holding out too much hope. 1 hour later: interesting. i can't really describe it. it's a biting scent, but i'm not sure what i'm smelling. there's some sweetness, too. 2.5 hours later: very interesting. much sweeter, but still a tough, yet feminine, scent. overall: this is a good scent when i need a little boost to my confidence. i'm not sure if i'll get a bottle, but i'll enjoy using up my imp.

queen of spades at first: a very dark scent. a bit soapy, with some wood and other scents in there. it's hard to pick anything out. on: weird. this smells like flowers that have been dipped in some kind of heavy syrup. i think i may smell a hint of cinnamon or another warm scent. 1 hour later: this is warmer now, with more of a wood scent. very wonderful. an autumnal scent/ 2 hours later: i really like this. it's a bit soapy, but light. it's very nice. overall: very beautiful. i love that i get so many different impressions from this oil. i wish i would've gotten a 5ml, but i'm glad i at least got an imp.

king of spades at first: i think i'm smelling peaches. weird. on: apricot, maybe? it's definitely a sweet, orange fruit of some kind. very, very nice. 1 hour later: this is so beautiful. i'm not sure what i'm smelling, but i like it. it's a little sweet, with some sort of very, plus a woodlike scent and musk. i love this! 2 hours later: beautiul. i wish i would have put a bit more on, since it is much lighter now. overall: i like this so much more than i thought i would. it's just got so much going on. i wish i would have gotten myself a bottle of this. oh, well...i'll enjoy using up my imp.

wildfire at first: i can't really pick anything out. it's strong and heavy, with a bit of sweetness. on: smells like some kind of liquor, a sweet, brown liquor. there's a hint of a smoke or something, too. 1.5 hours later: a little sweeter, but dry. hmmm...this kind of smells like crumbly sugar cookies right now. how odd. overall: this lasted really well. it's definitely an interesting blend. i wish i would have gotten a bottle because i bet this would be a fantastic room scent.

phantom queen at first: the lab included this as a freebie in my order. this is beautiful. it was a bit floral, a bit herbal, and a bit fruity. very interesting and nice. on: floral, but soft. oh, here comes a bit of soapy floral. that's usually not a good sign. 1 hour later: softer and a bit sweet. almost creamy. very nice. 5 hours later: very pretty. i can't really pick anything out, but it's still creamy, with a hint of floral and sweetness. overall: i might not have gotten around to buy this for myself, but i'm glad i got to try it. i don't think i'll get a bottle, but i'll definitely enjoy using up my imp.

la petite mort at first: i think i smell honey, but that isn't on the list. hmmm...i'm not sure. very interesting. on: definitely honey, but something else. sexy, sticky, sweaty. very fun. 2 hours later: a darker, slightly biting, honey. very interesting. 12 hours later: well, this one definitely lasts. i keep getting whiffs of a dark honey every now and then. it's gorgeous. overall: i love this one. it'll be a contest between o and la petite mort for which one i'll be getting a bottle of.

lampades at first: very fruity. definitely cranberry,, but a bit sweeter. on: fabulous. tart cranberry juice. i think i can almost smell something else, but i'm not sure what. i really like this. 1.5 hours later: a bit biting from a flower i can't place. the cranberry is a tiny bit sweeter, but still delicious. this is a really great scent. 6.5 hours later: fabulous. it's much lighter, but still mostly cranberry. i love this one. overall: i may have to get a bottle of this eventually. it's just wonderful.

old kathmandu at first: wow. the lab tossed this in as an extra and it is wonderful. it's so different. i smell spices, but i can't place which ones. it's also a bit on the watery side. this is very nice. on: weird. i don't think i like this. it's some weird kind of spice. 1 hour later: much softer. i have a feeling this one won't last on me. the "weird" smell is gone, which is great. 2 hours later: yup. it's pretty much gone. overall: i "cheated" and looked up the ingredients. the "weirdness" was most likely cedar, since it so clearly hates me. this one will be swapped.

maenad at first: this reminds me of depraved a little bit; i really think i like it at first, but then there is something that is very uncomfortable underneath. it's a fruity kind of sweet, with a spiciness that just makes it seem "wrong". this will be an interesting scent to try out. on: very fruity. i can't pick out the fruits, but that's all i smell. half an hour later: not so good. this smells like one of those alcohol-laden body sprays from bath and body works or target right now. 4 hours later: much lighter, but still fruity. i'm glad this is closer to the initial smell than the one a little after that. i really like it. overall: this is a great fruity scent. it's chaotic, but not distractingly so. i probably won't get a big bottle, but i'll definitely enjoy using my imp.

black cat at first: the lab threw this in as a freebie. sweet, like brown sugar, and very herbal. lovely, in a weird way. i think i almost catch some chocolate in there, too. on: damn. i really wanted to like this. unfortunately, it's just a weird floral. i don't think i like it. half an hour later: it's a little better. there's an almost candy-like dryness to it now. however, it's mostly that not-so-nice floral, so i still don't like it. this is one that i actually want to go sweet on me. 4 hours later: still that sharp, almost-soapy floral. i really don't like this one. 7.5 hours later: a little bit sweeter, but still that biting floral, too. overall: i don't think i'll end up wearing this. however, it may be good in ritual or in my oil burner. depending on how much i use it, i may get another imp.

harvest moon at first: very foody. like pumpking pie with apples and cranberries. on: fall. i don't know how else to describe it. it smells like it feels when you just start needing to wear a sweater when you go outside. very nice. 1.5 hours later: this has turned really floral on me. interesting. it's like rich red and yellow flowers. lovely. 4.5 hours later: still floral, but a warm floral. i think this would be great as a room scent. 7.5 hours later: this is almost gone, but that's ok. it lasted pretty well, even after repeated handwashings. overall: lovely and a perfect scent for this particular full moon. i'll be burning this in my oil burner, too. i'm glad i grabbed a bottle of this.

nine mysteries at first: the lab tossed this in as an extra on my order. it's a super-sweet peppermint. very xmas-y to my nose. also, very refreshing. the only thing i worry about with this is the staying power of the mint. on: all i smell is peppermint. this could really clear out your sinuses. 3 hours later: more watery now, but the peppermint is still really strong, which is surprising. i'm really happy with this one. 5.5 hours later: still really beautiful. a bit softer. the peppermint is still the dominant scent, with a watery floral underneath. i'm so surprised that the peppermint is lasting so long on me. i really like this one. overall: i really like this. i'm still surprised that the peppermint lasted for so long. i probably won't get a big bottle, but i'll definitely enjoy using my imp.

hi, jc. i think you may be misinterpreting what people are saying. i think that some people got their order that included harvest moon before orders that were placed after their harvest moon orders. hmmm...i don't know if that made much sense. i guess what i'm trying to say is that i think people have been receiving their complete orders (that happen to include harvest moon), not that they've received a bottle of harvest moon separately, with the balance of their order showing up at a later date. i could be wrong, though.

at first: i don't think i like cedarwood...or something. this reminds me of three jacks because it's heavy, almost oppressive. if i had to bet, i'd say that i wasn't going to like this. on: more woody now, and not as heavy as three jacks. however, i'm getting that pickle smell. i wonder if that's the cedar. 2 hours later: very woody on me. i actually kind of like it. overall: this is a really different scent for me, and i probably won't wear it very often, but i think i'm going to keep this imp.

at first: beth sent me this as an extra, and i don't think i would've picked it based on the description. however, i do like the name. it smells like sweet mint. in fact, it smells a bit like the inside of a york peppermint patty. very cool. on: i still get the peppermint scent, but now a fruity note is added. it's a very different scent. 4 minutes later: well, this passed the isabel the cat lick test. she's so weird. 1 hour later: the scent has turned into more of a natural mint, not so much a candy mint. very lovely. 2 hours later: definitely still more natural. very nice. a very nice scent. overall: i probably won't get this again, but this is definitely good for those peppermint moods. i really like the green tinge to it.
