at first: the lab tossed this in as a freebie in my order. it definitely smells like some kind of plant. i don't really like it. on: interesting. spicy, pine-like, floral, and woodsy. 1 hour later: all woods. 3 hours later: still very woodsy. overall: this just isn't for me.

at first: earthy and dark. on: nicer on. it's a bit too...salty for me. it's weird. it makes my eyes water a bit. 1 hour later: still that saltiness. 1.5 hours later: sweet and salty. odd. overall: i think frankincence just does odd things on my skin.

at first: fruity and sweet. on: light and pretty. definitely tropical. a lush, fruity scent. half an hour later: fruity, with a bitter citrus edge to it. very simple. not distracting. calming. 1.5 hours later: more ethereal now. it has a lightness to it that it didn't before. more the like the smell of lush fruits on a breeze than the fruits themselves. 2.5 hours later: softer still. overall: i adore this. it's able to be fruity without being busy. i can definitely see myself being able to meditate or relax when wearing this. a keeper.

at first: this lab tossed this one is an extra. it has a lot going on. i can smell the myrrh, but the rest is just a blur. on: i can smell the cypress and juniper. they're cool and fresh. there's also a sweet, heavy violet, with the myrrh enveloping everything else to make it incense-y. interesting and prettier than i had thought it would be. half an hour later: sharp and soapy. 1 hour later: very soapy, with something musty underneath. 1.5 hours later: still soapy and grossly musty. 2.5 hours later: blech. musty soap. overall: this is awful on me.

at first: lots of mints, with something cold and remote behind them. on: i don't know what it is about this, but it feels desolate. there's an almost disturbing smooth feel, with the mints sort of swirling calming around it. half an hour later: still about the same. 2 hours later: faint. peaceful. vaguely minty. 3.5 hours later: pretty much gone. overall: i'm a sucker for mints, so i definitely like this. however, i have a bunch of other minty scents that i like better. however, it toes fit the description perfectly.

at first: men's cologne. on: still men's cologne. 45 minutes later: men's cologne, men's cologne, men's cologne. 1.5 hours later: this has finally calmed down enough for me to pick up some notes. i can smell the bergamot (i'm not a fan.), along with leather, a bit of citrussy rind, and some soft tonka. not as bad as when i first put it on. 3 hours later: i can't believe i'm going to say this but...this is nice. tonka and leather. soft and oddly comforting. overall: if this oil didn't have such a long man smell stage, i would probably keep it.

at first: bright, sweet fruits. on: sweet (almost too sweet), juicy, and sparkling. 3.5 hours later: sweet fruits with a bit of something floral underneath. overall: this is nice on me, but that's all.

at first: sweet, like almonds or maraschino cherries. on: mostly those sweet cherries, with a hint of bitter, dry almond underneath. 1.5 hours later: i can smell a leafy note in this now. the sweetness is mostly gone. it's much drier. masculine. overall: this just isn't really for me.

at first: ozone and water. on: very, very wet, but with that tang of ozone. definitely the scent of the air before it rains. 1.5 hours later: this is a tiny bit sweet, now. it's lovely. still that pre-rain scent. 3 hours later: still strong and ozone-y. overall: while this is beautiful, i already have quite a few oils that fit the "damp" sort of vibe that this is giving off.

at first: pretty and light. floral. on: jasmine and other flowers. very, very pretty. 2 hours later: warm and floral and lovely. for some reason, this reminds me of the talking / singing flowers in the disney version of alice in wonderland. 3.5 hours later: powdery, soft, and floral. overall: even though this is truly lovely, i'm going to have to part with it. i just don't see myself wearing it often.

at first: i was able to win this from the lab on ebay. wow. i'm really getting tons of poppy with a bit of patchouli. very dark. on: wow. very strong patchouli and poppy. half an hour later: 90% patchouli. lovely. 1.5 hours later: so dark. i think i'm getting a glimmer of rose, but barely. it's just impossibly dark. 3 hours later: poppy and rose. overall: this is very dark and just slightly unpleasant. i like it, though, and am glad i have a bottle.

at first: i won this from the lab in an ebay auction. very grape-y and dark. on: lots of grape and musk. very sweet and fruity. half an hour later: darker now. lots of the earthy musks mentioned in the notes, with just a hint of grape. 1.5 hours later: an earthy darkness and a fruity sweetness. 3 hours later: more powdery with a hint off sweetness. overall: this is lovely. i'm glad i have this bottle to use.

at first: spicy and light. on: wow. still spicy, but with an oddly blood-like metallic tang to it. very interesting. half an hour later: still spicy, but sweeter. 2 hours later: this has really changed. it's more of a damp floral, with some dragon's blood. there's a bit of spicyness and that tangy metallic note in the background. overall: this is nice, but i'm glad i didn't order a bottle. i'll enjoy the decant i got.

at first: lots of jasmine and rose. on: more rose and myrrh. very nice. 1 hour later: dusty rose. 2 hours later: more myrrh now. overall: this is ok, but nothing special on me.

at first: wow! sweet and buttery. candy corn to the max. on: not as "cold" as it was in the vial. more foody. 1 hour later: sweet and foody! i actually like this. 2 hours later: sweet and lovely. overall: i was worried about this, but it's really nice. not too overpowering. i only have half of an imp, but i think that will be enough for me.

at first: lots of green trees. on: wow. the eucalyptus is really strong and the rest of the trees are in the background. very nice. great for winter. 5 minutes later: my eyes are really watery and my nose is itchy. 20 minutes later: lovely pine and spruce, but...i think i'm allergic to this. my eyes are really itchy. overall: i had to wash this one off.

at first: watery, with an odd sharpness to it. on: wow, musk and a slightly sweet / sour note. 45 minutes later: this smells like baby on me...with al ittle bit of maple syrup through in. gross. 1.5 hours later: i can't deal with this. overall: this is so not a scent for me. blech.

at first: i got this as a freebie, and i'm not sure why i haven't tried it before. definitely boozy and sweet. interesting. on: boozy, sweet, and candyish. a very dark purple scent. there's almost a sour note to it, too. this is fabulous. 1.5 hours later: this isn't as young and candy-like anymore. it seems more mature and muted. fruity, but sophisticated. still a deep scent. 2.5 hours later: still sweet and boozy, with a hint of fruity. really beautiful. overall: i love this. i might eventually end up buying a bottle of it.

at first: the lab included this as an extra, and i can't believe i haven't tried it before. it's really light and fresh. on: lovely. very light, fresh, and crisp. i can smell the green tea, honeysuckle, and lemon verbena, in that order. 1.5 hours later: the honeysuckle and verbena are strongest now. there's just a hint of green tea inthe background. still very yellow and green. this is going to be great for the spring / summer. 2.5 hours later: powdery and light. the notes are very well-blended. 3.5 hours later: almost effervescent. lovely. overall: while i think i might have to reapply this one during the day, it's really lovely. i'm glad the lab included an imp of it, and i'll definitely be using it on humid days.

at first: this was a freebie from the lab, and i can't believe i haven't picked it up sooner, since i like all of the notes. the violet is wonderful, and the incense and tonka are both equally strong. very pretty. on: lots of violet, with dark clove underneath. a nice balance of cool and warm. the incense and tonka are in the background. 1 hour later: lots of violet and tonka. the clove and incense aren't really there, but this is just fine with me. 1.5 hours later: the violet is a hint soapy, but the sweetness of the tonka is taking care of that. 4.5 hours later: i still get violet wafting up, but that's pretty much all. 6 hours later: a very soft and powdery violet. overall: i love violet, so i love sybaris.

at first: oh my goddess! cupcakes with cream cheese frosting! on: yup, cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. i don't know what else to say, really. 1 hour later: i really like the cheesiness of the frosting scent. this is wonderfully sweet and foody. 2 hours later: still sweet and like cupcakes, but with less cheese to it. 2.5 hours later: this is making me so hungry. it's unbelievable. overall: i love it, plain and simple. i'm so glad i ordered it.

at first: the lab tossed this in with my order. tons of spices with a base of lovely roses. on: very spicy with a rosy background. very, very pretty. half an hour later: very spicy, with a lovely dusty rose. 1.5 hours later: a bit soapy, but not too bad. lovely rose and spices, and the musk is finally coming out. yay! 2 hours later: mostly sweet musk, with the slightest hint of roses and spices. 3 hours later: musky and spicy. overall: i absolutely adore this. if i ever run out of it (and my dear rose red), i'll be getting a bottle.

at first: this one was a freebie. i expected something lush and floral, but i'm getting lots of woods from this. on: heady. this is fruity, floral, and woodsy all at once. very interesting and different. half an hour later: still sweet, but with a soapy bite. 3 hours later: very soft. the soapiness is gone. a bit sweet. overall: this is nice, but nothing spectacular on me.

at first: this is very faint. i think i get a hint of rose and wood, but that's about all. on: very, very soft and dusty. woods and flowers. very pretty and subdued. 1 hour later: there's a bit of floral sweetness creeping out now. the woods are still there, but aren't as pronounced. 1.5 hours later: a soft and pretty rose with some woods underneath. dusty and light. overall: this is a very light and pretty sense, but not something i would wear often.

at first: the lab included this as a freebie in my last order. i definitely get the sea spray, leather, and woods in this. a great balance of ozone and aquatic. on: very, very salty and wet. 45 minutes later: the woods are coming out more, but this is still very, very salty. 3 hours later: just vaguely salty and aquatic. 4 hours later: more woody now, but still salty. overall: this is nice, and i'd probably really like it on someone else, but it isn't me.
