at first: sweet dragon's blood and some dry sandalwood. on: lovely and dry. wonderful. sandalwood is so gorgeous. half an hour later: amazing. sweet, dry, and warm. did i mention that i love sandalwood? 'cause i do. 1.5 hours later: lots and lots of sandalwood. there's a hint of sweetness in the background. overall: this was nice, but probably not something i'd reach for often.

CDLXXXV - 485 this wasn't my bottle, but a gracious frimp i received in a swap. at first: woodsy, with a hint of sweet fruit in the background. on: this is nice. earthy, slightly woodsy, with a bit of sweet flowers. 1 hour later: this is sort of hard for me to smell. it's a bit warm and sweet, but earthy, too. 2.5 hours later: soft, sweet, and a bit floral. overall: after about three hours, this just sort of disappeared. Previously reviewed by kaltomere.

at first: lots of vetiver. on: there are some nice, green notes in the background now, but i still mostly smell vetiver. 1 hour later: vetiver and something sweet. 2.5 hours later: earthy, with lots of vetiver. overall: vetiver managed to ruin another scent for me.

at first: much fresher than i thought it would be. i think the white tea really brightens this up a lot. it goes really well with the orange blossom. on: still fresh and a bit citrussy, but with a smooth, sweet base. lovely. 1 hour later: mostly sweet with a smooth, wood undertone. 2.5 hours later: the vetiver is coming forward more now, but this is still mostly woodsy and sweet. 6 hours later: a soft, sweet, powdery wood scent. overall: this is nice, but i probably wouldn't wear it often.

at first: lots of sweet honeysuckle with a hint of something soapy. on: gorgeous. this smells like a heady, sweet floral soap, heavy on the honeysuckle, and not too sharp. 1 hour later: fresh, sweet flowers. 2.5 hours later: softer and more powdery, but still sweet. 6 hours later: much sweeter, but i can't pick out any notes. overall: this is a nice, pretty scent. i wish the honeysuckle would have hung around longer.

at first: spicy apples. this makes me crave fall even more than i already do. on: fresh, crisp apples and tons of warm spices. lovely. 1 hour later: sweeter and a bit perfumey, but mostly those wonderful spices and apple. 2.5 hours later: very sweet and even more perfumey. still nice, though. 4 hours later: faintly sweet. overall: this is lovely. i'm so glad i went ahead and bought this. it will be nice to wear this when i want something a little lighter than jack.

at first: odd. an almost menthol-like blend with lots of floral and aquatic notes. on: much fresher with a bit of sweetness. i think that the cypress is giving it an almost eucalyptus-like smell. 2 hours later: this is much softer now and mostly a thick, heavy, sweet scent. 3 hours later: heavy and sweet. overall: this just isn't really a scent for me.

at first: very woodsy, with a bit of violet and another flower that i'm assuming is iris. on: floral and woodsy. i'm not sure how this is going to work on me. 1 hour later: sweet, heady violets with some sweet amber, woods, and musk. lovely. 3 hours later: soft, powdery violets with a hint of soapiness. 3.5 hours later: sweet, powdery violets. however, something (i'm look at you, mandarin.) is giving it an odd sourness. overall: luckily, the violets in this worked on me. unfortunately, the mandarin did something funky on my skin.

at first: just generally sweet, with a hint of red wine. on: odd. there are sweet, generally foody notes in this, but they're combined with more resinous and herbal ones. i'm not sure about the combination. 1 hour later: this just keeps wafting up. when i first put it on, i wasn't sure if i loved it or wanted to wash it off. it's mostly deep and resinous. i think i'm really liking it now, and it sure has a lot of throw. also, it reminds me of something, but i can't put my finger on what. 2 hours later: still rather strong. i think i'm getting a bit of oddness (if you will) from the balsam, in addition to the resinous base. 3 hours later: this is sweet, but still sort of odd. i can't really place the non-resinous notes. 4 hours later: a little softer. overall: this was definitely a happy surprise. i'm not sure if i'll get a bottle of this; i'll probably see how often i reach for my imp.

at first: lots of myrrh and a bit of warm cardamom. there's a lot going on here. on: the amber has come forward and this is a nice, sweet incense. 2 hours later: this is really lovely. it's more incense-y now, but still sweet. overall: this is nice: a sweet, deep, slightly powdery incense blend.

at first: lots of lavender and bright, fresh notes. on: neroli and lavender, with a bunch of other bright, strong notes. 2 hours later: the floral notes have come forward now, but this is still nice and bright. overall: this ended up far too floral on me.

at first: very earthy and warm. on: coconut and sweet patchouli, with some sweet berries. 2.5 hours later: sweet and fruity, with a bit of green earthiness. 5 hours later: very soft. vaguely fruity. overall: this is just ok on me.

at first: dark, sweet fruits and opium. on: definitely still fruity, but with a citrus edge to it. this is still dark, but with some incense. 2.5 hours later: soft and dark, with a bit of sweetness. 5 hours later: a bit sharp and soapy, but with some sweetness. overall: this is nice at first, but it doesn't really work on me.

at first: some sweet notes and flowers. on: a fresh floral blend. 2 hours later: now, it's turned to a sweet, musky blend. i can smell amber and a light musk. 3 hours later: powdery and sweet, with a bit of musk. overall: this is really pretty, but i have other oils that develop similarly on me.

at first: very dark patchouli and opium. on: lots of patchouli, which is a good thing for me. 2 hours later: all patchouli, all the time. 3 hours later: all patchouli. overall: i really like patchouli, but this bordered on being a bit much, even for me. however, it would be divine layered with other oils.

at first: light, fresh, and cool. i can smell mint, something light and fruity, and a bit of musk. on: very, very green and fresh. not as light as in the imp. very nice and springlike. 2 hours later: sweet and light. 3 hours later: very light, sweet, and a bit musky. overall: this is a pretty, fresh scent, and i like how it gets sweeter as it dries.

at first: i can smell blackberry in this, along with something a bit sparkly and some sweet vanilla. on: musky, sweet vanilla and blackberry. 2 hours later: still mostly blackberry and musk. 3 hours later: sweet and musky. i think i mostly smell vanilla. overall: this is very pretty, although the musk does get a bit too heavy for me at times.

at first: a sweet, fruity, pungent blend. on: lots and lots of rose with many other floral notes swirling around. still pungent. half an hour later: mosty rose, but with some pungent notes in the background. 2 hours later: rose, but with some evil orange blossom and bergamot interfering. overall: it would be nice if the notes that go bad on my skin were so strong, but i'm a sucker for rose, so i can put up with it.

at first: wow. this contains a lot of things that i don't like. i smell vetiver and cinnamon, along with some orange blossom. on: there's something fresher (lime?) coming forward now, which lightens up and cools off this blend. half an hour later: a slightly odd, fruity scent. this reminds me of some bath product from lush. 2 hours later: fruity and a bit earthy. very nice. overall: this has an almost-tropical feel to it. it's really lovely and different from other oils i've tried.

at first: something sweet and almost a bit sour, along with the powdery scent of sandalwood. on: even sweeter and more powdery. this is really, really beautiful. half an hour later: soft and white. powdery and beautiful. 2 hours later: still sweet and powdery. lovely. overall: this is just beautiful. i'm a sucker for powdery, sweet scents and this is simply that.

at first: a bit of sharp bergamot and some lovely, dark flowers. on: definitely heavy flowers. nighttime flowers. there's a hint of something sweet underneath this...maybe vanilla or tonka. the bergamot is there, but in the background, thankfully. half an hour later: tonka and flowers. 2 hours later: a soapy floral with a bit of sweetness. overall: this bergamot went funny on me, but i loved the rest of the notes in this blend.

at first: the slightly bitter freshness of green tea, with mango, sweet fig, and a bit of earthy patchouli. on: lots of patchouli, which is nice. the other notes are there, too, but the patchouli is enveloping them. 2.5 hours later: mostly, i smell the green tea, with just a hint of fig. 6.5 hours later: mostly the freshness of the green tea with a bit of earthy patchouli. overall: this is a really fun, crazy scent, but i don't think i'd really reach for it often.

at first: a sweet, bready, fruity scent. on: this smells like a hot, buttery, fruity tart. 2.5 hours later: buttery bread with a bit of jam. 6.5 hours later: still a buttery, fruity, pie-like sort of scent. overall: how delightfully odd! i'm really glad i got to try this, since it's a really crazy scent, but i can't really see myself wearing it.

at first: holy crap! honeydew! on: this is like freshly-cut honeydew. sweet and almost-sticky. 2.5 hours later: the moss is coming out more, and the honeydew is gone and has been replaces with a nice, grapey note. 6.5 hours later: lighter and mostly grapey. overall: this is nice, but not really me.

CIL (149) at first: very sweet. i think there's rum in this, along with something else sweet. on: sweet, heavy, heady, buttery rum. actually, i'm getting an odd combo of buttered popcorn and play-doh. odd. 1 hour later: a buttery, slightly plastsic-y sweetness. 2.5 hours later: softer. the buttery note has died down. now there's a dry, sugary sweetness to it. 4 hours later: sweet and powdery. overall: nice, but i'm not sure about the initial stages on me.
