  1. Spirits of the Dead is a very crisp and dry scent. There is a definite tea and lemon scent but the lemon is so faint that it is difficult to pick out. The papyrus matches quite nicely with the tea. I am astonished at how clean this smells. My only wish is that this had more of a throw. Overall, this is a winner for me and surprisingly not a resiny/earthy scent which I usually go for. :P

  2. Goodness! I smell those cherry blossoms right off. There is a fruitiness here that finally isn't too sweet for me. And the ozone and green bamboo scent is heavenly. I wasn't interested in trying this when I read the description on the Lab site but after trying an imp, I am hooked!

  3. This is greener than I had anticipated. Dance of Death is dark green and earthy. The patchouli is strong but smells cleaner than the usual "dirty stinky hippy" patchouli you might think of first. The musk is just not present for me. The orris is amazing! I think this is hte first time I have ever been able to smell orris in any of the Lab blends. I swapped for this on a whim but Dance of Death is going on my large bottle list.

  4. If this is what burnt black sandalwood smells like, I am sold! The lemon rind is a wonderful addition to this. Incantation is a very dark scent with just a glimpse of light. This captures the scent of being in a very dark place with just a pinpoint of light in the distance.

  5. Oh yeah!! Juniper and lovely lovely patchouli! I don't get any floral at all but I'm hoping it shows up later. Ohh! And it does! Rose shows up after another 5 minutes. Another perfect scent from the Lab!! Burial is a keeper!

  6. Marzipan and rose right away. The sandalwood shows up a few minutes later. There is only the faintest hint of clove and nutmeg. Seraglio is even better than I had anticipated! Not quite foody, not quite incensy. Totally wonderful!!

  7. Amazing!! This has foody ingredients but doesn't smell totally foody on me. There is a bittersweet cocoa and some sweetness from rum but I'd swear there was tobacco leaf keeping this from going foody. I got this as a frimp and am so happy I did! Centzon Totochtin goes on my large bottle list!

  8. A celebration of three years of decadence, determination, death and rebirth. Red musk, tonka, Chinese cassia, mandarin, patchouli, benzoin, wild plum and tobacco.

Red Phoenix is spicy but the cinnamon has a more earthy, woody scent. The musk and patchouli keep this from being a foody spice. No mandarin or plum at all for me. This gets a bit smoky on drydown which plays well. Another winner!!

  9. Caramel and curent in the bottle but on my skin it turns to a boozy caramel and tobacco leaf. There is just the tiniest bit of coconut. I know it's there but it doesn't smell like suntan lotion on me. It's just rich coconut. This is sweet but not in that tooth-aching sweet way. This is a rich, decadent sweetness that is just a bit boozy. I want to say this is foody but there is an ingredient that keeps it from being completely foody to me. Red Lantern is utterly heady! Loving this!!

  10. Oh my!! A sweet scent I love!! I mean... OH MY!!

Smut is sugary, vanilla sweet and lightly musky. There is also a creaminess to this. I was worried when I sniffed this in the bottle because I smelled a fruitiness to the sweetness and fruity scents just don't do it for me. This is incredible on my skin, very sexy. Love the Smut!

  11. I love the dirt scent in Death Cap so I couldn't wait to try Destroying Angel. This is just as dirty but it's a lighter scent. There is also a bit of a tang to the dirt. This reminds me of the smell fo a dirt celler. This also has a white floral to it but I'n not sure what the flower is. Destroying Angel is even better than I had hoped. This is definitely going on my next Lab order! :P

  12. Spicy goodness in the bottle and on my skin. It takes a little time for the spice to calm down and let the other scents come out. The sandalwood is lovely with the cardemon and I always love even the smallest hint of patchouli. This is still spicy but it's a wonderfully warm and earthy spice. Yum!!

  13. I've been won over by Beth's roses and this is no exception. This is rose but doesn't come on as freshly cut or straight from a garden. The resins see to that. This is a very quiet perfume. All the ingredients are so soft and blend well with each other. I don't get a foody scent with this at all. All Saints is just wonderful rose incense on me. Another winner!

  14. This is maraschino cherry first off but then that gives way to the myrrh and clove. Blood is a very thick, very rich scent. I was expecting something sweeter and this is definitely not sweet on me. I am loving this much more than I had thought. :P

  15. This is floral but not very rosey on me. I'm not getting the musk either. Spellbound is sweet floral (maybe jasmine?) amber on me. This is similar to Venom but not so sweet and boozy. I like the way this smells after I wear it for a bit. The sweetness tames down and the scent is more amber and jasmine then.

  16. This is heavenly! Lavender light and heavy musk. There is mint but it blends so well with the other ingredients that it only shows up later. Mad Hatter smells like a gentleman with a pocket of mints. Very refreshing and another oil to add to my bottle wishlist!

  17. Wow this is boozy! There is an herbal scent to this that I am thinking is rosemary or oregano. I don't get the myrrh until later. I really want to like this but something in Athens is telling me to stay away. No more Athens for me. :P

  18. Straight off mint and juniper. Undertow reminds me of a forest in winter. This is a cold scent to me. I don't necessarily smell the mint as feel the mint. And there is a sweetness that shows up after awhile. It isn't a strong note though. This is very intriguing!

  19. This reminds me of the pink medicine I had to take as a child. It isn't nasty or gag-inducing though. Tzadikim Nistarim is really rather lovely with the light sweetness. All the ingredients are blended so well that I cannot make out individual scents. Slightly fruity, slightly creamy and just barely floral and green. I am more attracted to this the longer I wear it.

  20. Geek is all woody and warm. This starts out with pine and cedar with just the barest hint of cinnamon. It's almost not there. The leather doesn't show up until later as the oil warms on my skin. This is a very warm smell. I don't get the patchouli at all other than there being an earthy scent. I am in love with Geek!
