    The Organ Grinder (2006)

For whatever reason, when I picked up the bottle and took a good look at the artwork, the name "ORGAN GRINDER" suddenly became two seperate and different words then "ORGANGRINDER" all as one. In the bottle this is rather indescribable. It's a lot of almond with something acrid hanging in the background. When I first put this on, it was all rich creamy almonds, buttery and delish. Of course, as my skin is wont to do, it ate up the almonds and hit me with the pine. Now that it's dried down a bit, it smells almost like a nutty Talvikuu, but not quite as icy. I'm sad about this, and I apparently need to stay away from anything with pine. On total dry down, it was still just as muddled and icky as before. This would be a gorgeous scent on a person who's skin didn't love to make the whole world know it was wearing pine. ps: I'd keep it just for the artwork, but I don't want to keep harassing my senses trying to make this work on me.

    Cockaigne

I was so, so very excited about this. It was truly a morpher, and I've never had anything change this dramatically from first sniff to dry down. In the bottle: Smells like a vanilla caramel candle. It's nice, but sort of off-putting. I expect this smell to hit me when I first walk into the shop here in town, but it's strange coming out of a bottle! First application: Caramel, for sure. It settles down immediately, and it's not so fake smelling. There's a bit of that cakey scent that I love so much in Midway hovering around in the back. Now, a little cassia comes up front, and I'm glad I'm not getting the 'sour milk' that everyone talks about. Dry down: The sweetness is fading away, and it's becoming rich and thick. I accidentally got some on my lips while smells, and this does not taste nearly as good as it smells The wine is making it just a little spicy, just around the edges. Tho, it's sort of returning to candle smell. In fact, as I'm typing this, it's getting really cinnamon-y on me. Not Red Hot cinnamon, but like a mulled cider spice. What a mopher! Conclusion: Nice, but ultimately not for me. I'm sad, because it smells so very different in the bottle. It's very strong and would be great as a room scent, maybe? I love the first 30 seconds of it when that sugary sweetness fades down, but that wine (which, I swear, is full of mulling spices) just overwhelms the whole blend on me. To be fair, my skin tends to amp up anything clove/cinnamon/cassia, so that may be why I'm getting so much. But it sure is pretty. Maybe when it cools down more this will be more my speed. It's staying in the box, for the moment. edited because I can't spell.

Good heavens, I love this. Bottle: Fresh oranges. I'm reminded of an orage sitting in the fridge that's gone just a little bitter. Wet: Like I've just peeled an orange. Smells like the peel, which is different from the meat. Dry down: Within just a few minutes, this seems to go all candle-y on me, which is okay. Like, almost a fall/citrus candle. However, this fades fast and I get some floral notes coming up. (THe candle-y bit could be because I put it over unscented lotion, I don't know.) Verdict: I love this. I wish it stayed orange longer, but I still love this. I don't get any pepper, which is strange, and somewhat disappointing.

    Hurricane

The Dark Side of Air: a high pitched, tangy, clear scent -- light China rain deepened by murky vetivert. Finally, an aqautic note that seems to agree with me. I agree with the lady above who said this smells more post-hurricane. Wet leaves, clean air, wood, salt... it's all there. Quite lovely.
