Date palm, dried tobacco, snakeroot, and leather. In the imp: Sweet, yet sharp and a little more cologne-like than most BPAL. Wet: The cologne smell is stronger. Dry: I never smelled the leather at all. I can smell a hint of the tobacco. But...do snakeroot and date palm smell sweet yet earthy? I guess so. I normally gravitate toward the moderately masculine scents, but this one kind of fizzles out on me. The throw is good, don't get me wrong. I even like the scent, but it's a lot sweeter than expected. Hmmm. I think it would smell wonderful on a man though.

She wore a knit tweed suit and discreet pearl earrings. Something about her might have said nanny, but it said it in an undertone of the sort employed by British butlers in a certain type of American film. It also coughed discreetly and muttered that she could well be the sort of nanny who advertises unspecified but strangely explicit services in certain magazines. Middle Eastern flowers, amber, honey, blood red-berries, whip leather, and polished paddle wood. In the bottle, it smells like an incredible men's cologne. Leather, wood, and men's cologne, heavy and redolent with dark power. I think this is more along the lines of Grampy Ashtoreth (although, when I was reading G.O. I wondered if Nanny was actually a male demon in female form. And judging by this scent, 1.) Yes, and 2.) He's really hot when he's not trying to seem like someone's creepy tutor from Hell, literally). On me, it smells a little like it does in the bottle, but the cologne dampens a bit, and I can smell the leather and wood very easily. It's spicy and a bit musky smelling. Very sexy, very manly...I've just tried it on the husband, we'll see how it smells on him. ETA: It smells the same on him...scents never smell alike on both of us. But mmmm...I can't pick out the berries or the honey, but it really doesn't matter. Mmmmm.

`Are their heads off?' shouted the Queen. `Their heads are gone, if it please your Majesty!' the soldiers shouted in reply. `That's right!' shouted the Queen. `Can you play croquet?' The soldiers were silent, and looked at Alice, as the question was evidently meant for her. `Yes!' shouted Alice. `Come on, then!' roared the Queen, and Alice joined the procession, wondering very much what would happen next. Green grass and red roses. Am I the first person to review this? If not mods, feel free to merge this thread. Okay, when the sprays went up during the update, I thought "I can only afford one right now". And THIS was the one I had to have...I love rose scents, I love Alice In Wonderland...what could be better? The bottle is huge. The label looks really professional and discreetly pretty, a light green with red roses, like something you'd see in a storefront somewhere (and it has the website on the bottle, which makes me think that maybe it will be someday). I sprayed a little on the hem of my shirt (black), and there was no staining or oily residue. It dried quickly and OH MY GOD it smells good. Like Rose Red with tea rose meets One to Tie, Two to Win. Half an hour later I'm still smelling it strongly, and I'm having to fight the urge to lift up my shirt to bury my face in rosey goodness. Mmmm... If the other scents smell as good as this one does, I'll have to smell them all!

Spotty, hairy, purple, sweet! In the imp: SWEET! No really...so sweet it's off the glycemic index. Don't take an up close whiff of this one. Wet: Moonflower-lily honey, with some kind of green note. Green like shoots growing out of the earth. Really nice. Dry: It's starting to smell like One to Tie, Two to Win, delicate and beautiful...under an incredibly loud, crazy smelling floral explosion that smells like the odor equivalent of spontaneous combustion. This scent is insane (but what did I expect)! After 5 minutes: It appears that the crazy flower has won out. I'm going to have to try this again some other time, using less of it. A little goes a very long way. But I underneath the craziness, it's a very interesting floral, and I think I might even like it... .

Truly the scent of autumn itself -- damp woods, fir needle, and black patchouli with the gentlest touches of warm pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, allspice, sweet red apple and mullein. There are so many notes here I seem to get something with each squirt. The spices are the strongest notes, and are balanced with the crisp apple and the mellow mullein. And then sometimes it smells like a fruity, spiced pumpkin. It's like the Samhain oil, but with a different manifestation of it with every spray. Very rich and warm...very lovely.

Give in to temptation: black amber darkens a pale fougere. Thomas is DELICIOUS. The oil is a deep red hue (which is so perfect for the character). It smells like Dragon's Blood and Amber to me, warm and smooth and merry but with an undercurrent of darkness, and something yearning. It's not too masculine, I think it would be perfect on both men and women. Neutral enough to layer well with other oils, but strong enough stand on its own. Mmmm, Thomas! ETA: Although I didn't detect it when I first put it on, the next morning it seemed like there was lavender present (what remained of the scent smelled like Light & Swift to me).

Back home we only have black moths. Formidable creatures. They thrive on the dark and cold. ...What do they feed on? Butterflies, I’m afraid. A flutter in the darkness: wild plum and blackcurrant with aged black patchouli, vetiver, red rose petal, tonka absolute, and opoponax. The prototype was a very dark vetiver. An imp of the final scent smells mesquite-like, dark and burning, like fluttering darkness burning through walls. Very foreboding scent, and although it's quite dark and imposing on its own, I can see it layering well with other scents.

Green apple with pink pepper, Himalayan cedar, juniper berries, and lemon rind. Although this combination seemed the least appealing of the Apple series, it's fabulous! It reminded me of the Green Apple Hair Gloss--green, sweet, and tart. Very complex, and fruity without being too foody. Very fresh and just a tad citrusy.

It smells like Hell in the bottle (literally! To paraphrase Ralph Wiggum, "smells like burning"), but once it is on and has dried it's a lovely, sharp cinnamon. Warm and cozy and lovely.

It smells very light and pretty. Very incense-y, more so than rose on me (which is unusual since I amp rose). Smoky rose incense. -
Good God, what a night that was, The bed was so soft, and how we clung, Burning together, lying this way and that, Our uncontrollable passions Flowing through our mouths. If I could only die that way, I'd say goodbye to the business of living. Honey, myrrh, ylang ylang, and almond. When I saw these notes, I thought "Please let it smell like Naturistics Honey and Almond Cleanser from the 90s! Please!" And when it arrived today I spritzed it in the air, it DID...roasted almond, sweet honey, and an added smoky resinous quality from the myrrh. But spraying it on my comforter, I can also smell the sweetness of the ylang ylang...I like ylang ylang, but I'm not sure I do in this blend...it's a warm, sexy scent, but then the ylang ylang lightens it up and makes it something lighter and less intense. I think I love this, ylang ylang and all, but it will take more spritzes to be sure . I definitely like it as an air scent!

All the stories of ghosts and goblins that he had heard in the afternoon, now came crowding upon his recollection. The night grew darker and darker; the stars seemed to sink deeper in the sky, and driving clouds occasionally hid them from his sight. He had never felt so lonely and dismal. He was, moreover, approaching the very place where many of the scenes of the ghost stories had been laid. In the centre of the road stood an enormous tulip-tree, which towered like a giant above all the other trees of the neighborhood, and formed a kind of landmark. Its limbs were gnarled, and fantastic, large enough to form trunks for ordinary trees, twisting down almost to the earth, and rising again into the air. It was connected with the tragical story of the unfortunate André, who had been taken prisoner hard by; and was universally known by the name of Major André's tree. The common people regarded it with a mixture of respect and superstition, partly out of sympathy for the fate of its ill-starred namesake, and partly from the tales of strange sights and doleful lamentations told concerning it. As Ichabod approached this fearful tree, he began to whistle: he thought his whistle was answered-it was but a blast sweeping sharply through the dry branches. As he approached a little nearer, he thought he saw something white, hanging in the midst of the tree-he paused and ceased whistling; but on looking more narrowly, perceived that it was a place where the tree had been scathed by lightning, and the white wood laid bare. Suddenly he heard a groan-his teeth chattered and his knees smote against the saddle: it was but the rubbing of one huge bough upon another, as they were swayed about by the breeze. He passed the tree in safety, but new perils lay before him. The gnarled boughs of a gargantuan, moss-caked, ancient tulip-tree, dangling dead leaves and dripping with browning vines. I wasn't sure what to expect, but this is lovely! Mainly it smells very clean (surprisingly!). Maybe it's the tulip. Whatever it is...it smells like a tangy floral. Clean, but with a hint of zesty greenness. I'm not getting dead leaves or dying vines at all...this smells very much alive to me. Very complex and beautiful.

This smells a bit like minty cocoa, a bit like a chocolate orange. And then later it smells like Gelt. Such a fun, fun scent. Definitely my favorite 13. I'm glad I took a chance!
-
Fresh, warm, resinous. And there's something a bit tangy in there. Wet, it smells okay, but dry it's just very clean, warm, and just a little sweet. It IS a comfort scent.

Alan doesn't smell at all like Snow White to me. He's very clean and light though, and unassumingly masculine. A little woodsy, a little leathery, not overpowering at all. Layered with Edith, WOW. The woodsiness bolsters her sweet lightness, and it's just a fantastic, complex layering that is sweet and strong with a light throw. Beautiful and glowing. I wouldn't keep Alan based on his scent alone although I like it, but his combination with Edith is worth hanging onto.

What an awesome scent! It starts out with a sexy, masculine, "Streets of Detroit" cologne vibe, and then after drying, morphs into this clean, sexy, masculine after shave-type scent. I love it on me, but I'll bet it would be equally as lovely on a man .
-
A light, idealistic floral scent that smells clean with a hint of green. I get why some called it soapy, but it just smells clean and sweet to me. I love this!
-
Very light, pretty scent. It smells like a light floral layered with Snake Oil, smudged with incense. Not much throw, but really nice.
-
This scent smells ancient, fierce, watchful. Like something dry, powdered resins, and a wisp of fougere. It smelled kind of woody and weird in the bottle, but on it's oddly lovely.
-
Poppy flowers, peat, sphagnum moss, gardenia, and white water lily. There's something unnerving about this floral...it morphs constantly. One sniff it's sweet and pretty, the next second it's somber and crisp. It's okay, it's interesting, but not entirely me.
-
I love, love, love this...champagne and roses and warm vanilla. This is just a golden rose scent, warm and inviting. Mmmm!
-
This smells a bit champagne-y--not as much as the prototype, but it has that same effervescent sweetness. But in this blend, it's much more subdued. It smells like a bit like an English garden, and rain, and a bit of sweet sadness muted by the resiliency of childhood. I love it!
-
Wet, it smells like the perfect sleeping blend to me, smooth florals and sweet lavender, and it's just perfect. On, the gardenia goes a little crazy and takes the forefront. Sigh. Beautiful, but a different kind of scent than it is wet.
-
Sweet, slight floral perfume with a bit of an edge to it. Not a lot of throw, but when you put your nose to it, it's unexpectedly strong.

Wintry mint and eucalyptus and a sexy-smelling light cologne that reminds me of Bed of Nails/Torture Queen. Really lovely!
