It smells like peppery musk to me. I would never wear this for the scent, but I might try it for a little more courage when I'm feeling. Oh God, and is that rank sweetness supposed to be grapes? Yup, never for the scent.

A feisty bouquet of golden, warm, gently honeyed lilies. Honeyed lilies, with just a hint of something kind of tangy. Very golden and sweet...I think I prefer the honeyed gardenia to the honeyed lily, but this is very nice.

A dollop of our invigorating, refreshing foot scrub will leave you dancing on air like you're wearing winged sandals! Peppermint, lemon, and neroli. Well, first things first: I think the label is lovely. It's in a similar style to the Atmoshere sprays. The bubbling is very slight, and if this is the only thing stopping the foot scrubs from wide release, it shouldn't be! The packaging is excellent as is. The scent is very fresh and invigorating. It's definitely a peppermint-dominant scent...the lemon and neroli are present, but are supporting players. The consistency is good--not only does it have a nice amount of scrubby sugar, but there are little purple jojoba spheres mixed in as well. Massaging AND pretty! And there are a lot of them...it's a very generous scrub in both size and the amount of moisturizing ingredients. In fact, there was so much oil and moisturizing goodness that I had to wash my feet/hands several times after scrubbing (although now that I think about it, I probably could have just toweled it off...there just would have been a lot of toweling though). This might because the scrub melted in transit and reformed slightly separated (oilier on the top and more sugary on the bottom), but I did stir it up before I used it--maybe not enough? It's keeping its consistency at room temperature though, so the stirring won't need to be a frequent thing. At any rate, it's a small price to pay for soft, sweet-smelling hands and feet. The scent is light enough not to interfere with other scents, but present enough that you get a nice rush of fragrance when you use it. And the peppermint is so cooling, and perfect for summer! My feet felt cool even under socks. And they were so soft afterwards! I'm officially a big fan of BPTP scrubs...I hope they get released soon! I can't wait to try the others. *I promised to review this, but I don't see any other reviews for it. Or any other scrubs for that matter. So I have no idea if I'm posting this in the right place--mods, feel free to move it if necessary.

Bubbly is right! This smells like an incredibly fizzy, fruity, rosy brew. I love it...and then after a few minutes it starts smelling like chlorine on me (the lemon?). Luckily that phase is brief! Because this would be such a fun, pretty blend for summer.

Soft, fragrant incense...warm and comforting. But sadly, it fades so fast!
-
Nuit is beautiful! The jasmine is the light, non-suffocating variety, and it pairs so beautifully with the moonflower. The incense powders a bit on me, but it's so wonderful that I don't care.
-
Pretty much straight vetiver on me. The best thing I can say about it is it fades quickly! But vetiver fans, rejoice.
-
3 words: Peaches and Herb! Seriously though, that's what I'm getting...an herbal cologne with peaches...and I kind of like it, but one of the notes is making the peach smell sour...it's just not working with the rest of the blend on my skin.

I smelled the vetiver first thing out of the imp and was sore afraid. But on...the cherry disappears, the vetiver gets out of the limelight, and it ends up smelling a bit like baked goods on me (well, vanilla and clove...). I don't know if it's something I would wear often, but it's definitely a pleasant surprise!

This is quite a morpher! It first it smells like sweet, innocent flowers, and then the dark patchouli and vetiver creep about. It's beautiful and sweet, but dark and a little mysterious. It's growing on me!

It must be the amber tonight, because something (like another amber blend, hmm) is turning bitter. It's nice enough in the imp, but I'm not getting any berries. Only disappointment .

I remember trying this years ago and not liking it. So, trying it again: It was definitely the fennel I didn't like before...it smelled too strong and bitter. But on, I'm liking this a lot! It balances nicely with the lemon, and the sweet effervescence. It's definitely a mood-lifting scent without being silly or giddy. Mmmm, I'm really digging this!

Aquatic and kind of fruity...very refreshing, very light and just beautiful. Not very gloomy at all to me, but all the more beautiful for it.

This is deep and sweet...fruity, warm, lovely. But as it dries, something comes out bitter on my skin (maybe it's the pomegranate?). It's a lovely blend, it's just not me.

Wicked and vicious! A sharp, cruel blend of lavender and pennyroyal. If there's mint in this it's very, very faint to my nose. Basically, it just smells like astringent, bitter, alcohol. Totally not me...I like the sweet fizzies, but this is definitely not in that category. But if you wish you could smell like paint thinner, this might be for you!

This smells nothing like the description to me! This smells like the Renaissance Fair...spices and incense, dried flowers. It smells like Chrysanthemum Moon minus the Chrysanthemum. It's warm and lovely and it makes me wish I had gotten a bottle! But I was just so nervous about the motor oil!

Visiting the Temple of Auspicious Fortune Alone on the Winter Solstice
savage_rose replied to femmefatale's topic in Yules
At first it's incense and a light rain. And then...something fizzy and alcoholic? What kind of temple is this? It ends up smelling like incense and champagne to me, and maybe a little wet rain mixed in. I really like this, but this has to be one of the weirdest, most surprising scents I've tried. -
This is a lot sweeter than I was expecting, but not pleasantly so. And the wax just smells off somehow on me, like cheap unscented candles. I think this could be nice on the right person, but unfortunately that's not me.

2008 smells just like the earlier incarnations, bread and incense. I don't wear it often, but it's one of those warm, comforting scents that you're glad that you have when the mood strikes.

At first this smelled like GC blends I love...reminders of Iambe or Veil. And then it morphs into ozoney-herbal florals, with a streak of green astringent running through it. And then the astringent takes over, and it's...SeaBreeze? I like this at first, but the drydown smells too astringent for me to like where it ends. Although if I have stuffy sinuses, I just might reach for this.

I tried the 2005 version during early 2006 "OMG, must try everything" period and loved it...it was masculine but not too much so, was spicy, and just all around wonderful. But I never needed more of it. I decided to try 2008 though through a decant circle...and yuck! All I can smell baby powder and a bitter note that smells off (it smells faintly of poo. Ew). It makes my nose burn a bit, too. I'm so glad that 2005 didn't smell like this, or my BPAL involvement might have been cut short. Very, very short.

This smells like Mistletoe reincarnated as a cologne to me...you get the green "bite" of the Mistletoe with the sexy wearability of the cologne notes. Nice!
-
Minty and sweet, with some ozoney, vaguely citrus in the background. And is that a light floral? It's really lovely, and has a lot more throw than I was expecting! It's a very cheerful blend for something called Nuclear Winter, and I love it.

I was thinking that this smelled like holidays when I was kid, but that's a bit disturbing (dried blood? wine? ). On it smells sweet and spicy, like wine, but also like dried fruit. It's just a lovely warm spiciness that's lovely and comforting.

All I'm getting is wood. You know the theme song for 2 1/2 Men? Well, the theme song for this would go "Wood wood wood wood, woodsy wood wood wood, wood wood wood..." Not surprisingly, I'm not crazy about this one.
