What! Are you clairvoyant or something?! I just started a RPG game of Werewolf the apocalypse and was looking for good wolf inspired scents. So thanks a lot! Machu Picchu I like, so that's a good one and the floating market sounds awesome! Thank you.

Redundant or not, I do want to try chaotic I also like some of your other recommendations; Tintagel is one that I wanted to try for a long time, Lyonesse did not work on me though. Wembley sounds... strange but appealing, I might try to find a decant of it. Thanks!

This is such a great thread. I have a hard time describing myself, but I'll try because I'm curious what you guys come up with. I'm a 22 year old journalism student. I'm really curious and want to know how and why things work the way they do. I started my study with the idea to become a writer of the most interesting background articles for magazines like National Geographic (especially the ones focussed on people; the more 'anthropologic ones) and such. But I am also interested in video and editing, so that is what I am focussing on now. Maybe I want to make documentaries. People who just met me will think I am shy, because when I'm in new situations I tend to be more on the background, especially in large groups. But once you know me and I'm comfortable I can be pretty loud and cracking jokes all the time. Also, when something needs to be done in a group, I can take the leading role. Unexpected by some. "Chaotic" is my middle name (my boyfriend likes to tell me that my most used phrase probably is "have you seen my keys?"). Lately I've been diagnosed with ADD. This was pretty hard for me, but it was necessary because I was fcking up my study. I have a hard time concentrating and my mind wanders off all the time. Now I learn how to deal with that in a better way. A good thing of it is that I can think and associate really fast When I think of what I'd really would like to do, the first thing that comes to my mind is seeing more of the world. I've never been outside of Europe but the is so many of the world that I'd like to see. I also definitely like adventures; this summer a friend and I will be hitchhiking and couch surfing to Copenhagen. I like to try new things! Other things about me; I'm a bit of a hippy in music choice, style, and maybe also in my naiveness to wanting to change the world for the better. I'm really compassionate. I love reading, boardgames, tabletop RPG's, Doctor Who, Sherlock and GOT. I also love summertime, my family and friends, rollerderby, kittens, the color blue, bonfires, the stars and cooking (especially Asian food).

At first this one smells heavy on the caramel and tobacco; sweet, languid and dark. Slowly it morphs in to a lighter and more complex scent, the black-current is more on the forefront now. Half an hour later; this smells exotic and beautiful. I can not smell any of the individual notes, but it is a great scent!

Daughter of Pan and Echo and dear friend to Demeter. When Demeter was mourning the abduction of her daughter, Iambe was the only creature in heaven and earth that was able to lend cheer and laughter to the grieving mother. Her scent is one of comfort, beauty and joy: Sudanese amber, patchouli, rose, gardenia, gladiola and white tea. This is a very pretty, soft and uplifting scent. I smell especially gardenia/rose and a wee bit of the tea. Beautiful, but not for me, I don't like flowery scents on myself.

When I first smelled this half a year ago, I was a bit on the fence about it. It was super sweet (rhubarb and something almost strawberry-ish) with a strange undertone. I threw it in the 'try again' pile and did not think about it for a long time. Yesterday it was the first beautiful and sunny day of the year and I realized that all my BPALS are warm/hippy/bakery scents that are more suiting for cold weather. So I dug some imps out that where more suitable for spring time. I found a whole four of them! One of them being Lawful. And, long story short; it is THE PERFECT springtime scent for me! The super sweet rhubarb is a bit toned down and the fig is more present now. It is a fresh, herbal scent with a sweet side. Really lovely!

I am on a grapefruit kick lately, so with my last order I decided to snag an imp of this. In the imp: eugh, all I smell is a citrus scented cleaning product. It is a bit harsh smelling. Wet on my skin: Now it does not smell like a cleaning product anymore, but like soap (I know, soap is a cleaning product but..less chemical/harsh smelling). The citrus is still going strong, no traces of the other notes. Dry: It has mellowed out a bit, now it is soft, citrus candy. It is ok, but the smell is really faint. Dissapears within an hour on my skin. This one did not work for me

First I smell lots and lots of almond with a spike of hazelnut. It reminds me a bit of a certain pastry that is filled with almond paste and eaten around December festivities here After it dries down it becomes a golden/brown comforting smell. The honey comes more out and blends with the rest. It is a bit what i hoped that Bard smelled like. Super sweet, but I like it!

To me, this smells exactly as it says: sweet, creamy mint and marzipan! Yum! Later the marzipan fades and I smell like a cheery peppermint candy cane. It has not much staying power on me; I had to reapply after 3 hours or so. But I like the smell so I am glad that I bought some from a nice forumite

This is the first pumpkin scent that I ever tried. It is really a lovely autumn smell: buttery, spicy, gourmand pumpkin! Not an everyday scent for me but definitely a nice one.

My skin chemistry must really fck this up, because I smell no bread/ buttered toast at all! The lab's sugar note seems to turn in to a smell of burnt sugar (not the good caramelized kind) on me. The same one I smell with Sugar Skull. Together with that I get soapy and strong anise seed. That combination is not good . I am so curious about that toast smell you guys get!

All the notes of bard sounded fantastic and honey, vanilla and musk are usually wins on me. Not this bard. I smell soapy, strange honey and something flowery on the background. And it stays that way, it does not morph at all. I wanted this to work so bad, because I am planning on playing a bard in a Pathfinder adventure.

This was a frimp from the lab In the imp: super sweet candy cherry Wet: Hmm.. the cherry smells different now, still sweet but more of a dark, ripe cherry not the candy kind. I love this smell. Dry: Noooo cherry where did you go?! When it's dry the cherry smell disappears completely and I am left with only anise. Now it smells a bit like absinthe to me; a boozy anise (the real deal, I've never smelled BPAL's perfume of it). Not bad, but I want the cherry back! Later: And now the anise is gone as well. I smell a faint red musk. It seems like the notes disappear one by one. I like this one, but it is gone very quickly. I am going to find a way to make it last longer.

This reminds me of a perfume my mother had when I was younger. I like it but an imp will probably be enough. In the imp: Hmm, smells nice. Very soft and lovely. Wet: A floral, soft and sweet smell. Golden. The lilly is prominent. Dry: I amp the lily like crazy! it is almost the only thing that I smell, with a little bit of amber.

2013's Ridiculous Halloweenie! Less spooky than Spooky, and nowhere near as creepy as Creepy, this is the scent of lightly spiced pumpkin candies, decorated with thick marzipan, sweetened with buttercream, an decorated with a touch of lemon zest. In the decant: Marzipan and buttercream! Wet: A slightly bitter almond/marzipan scent with something spicy going on in the background.. hmmm. not sure what to think of this yet. dry: plastic and cinnamon/fireballs is all I get I was looking forward to this one so much. I am a bit bummed now.

This is really lovely and i'm so thankful that I could get this one in a trade! In the bottle: Ginger! Sharp, spicy ginger with a sweet undertone. Makes sense if you see the ingredients. On my skin: Hmmm.. this is what I was hoping mother ginger would smell like; a firm ginger kick, but with soft edges. I do not smell marshmallow on its own but I guess it is what softens the ginger down a bit. It is a great scent, comforting and empowering at the same time. I can see myself wearing this a lot this fall/winter. later: Yup, here comes the marshmallow! yummy and soft marshmallow. Unfortunately this has not much staying power on me: after an hour I only smell a faint bit of the ginger. And after that, the ginger is gone all together and all I can smell is something sweet, soft and comforting when I put my wrist to my nose. Edit: lately this is one of my most worn scents lately and actually the staying power is amazing. I've put some on yesterday evening and now, 10 hours later, I can still smell the lovely spicy/marshmallow scent. totally different than when I first wore it

Sugarskull 2010 In the decant bottle: I smell a very heavy smell of burnt, brown sugar. Not much else. I wonder how this will work out on my skin. Wet: Heavy and sweet, but now I smell more flowery/fruity sweetness than the brown sugar. Very different than the smell out of the bottle Drydown: Ugh, the burnt sugar is coming back. It smells a bit smokey and boozy and brown and it is paired with the sweet smell of fruit. I get a headache of this and do not like it at all. This is the first of BPAL's scents that I really had to wash of because I did not like the smell. It also gave me a headache. To bad!

Lush to BPAL scent comparisons (BNever included too)
Lucide replied to Vanilla's topic in Recommendations
I am looking for a scent similar to Lush's pink FUN. I love it, it is so comforting in a strange way to me. Can you guys help me out? -
My first review! I've got it from: a decant bought via a forum. In the bottle: It smells like a sweet and herbal cough syrup, not unpleasant, but a bit strange. On my skin, wet : The sweetness disappears immediately and leaves a very strong cardamom/smokey smell. Not so nice. dry down: The only thing I smell is cardamom. a few hours later: The dark, strong smell gets something sweet back underneath it. Like honey and vanilla. I do not smell cherry's like other people mention. It gets a bit more powdery and smells better then before. Still don't really like it though. Other people experiencing the cardamom thing, or is my body chemistry being weird?
