Mayan Chocolate with Annatto Seed, Anaheim Pepper, Cinnamon, and Vanilla Bean
DJ Sin posted a topic in Lupercalia
First scent in the bottle: Holy cow this is chocolate! Wet on the skin: still very much chocolate with the annatto seed coming out Dry: the vanilla bean comes out and marries with the chocolate. I get a slight swiff of the cinnamon and anaheim pepper. Its very strong and I posted this on my fb tonight "I smell like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory! I think I want to age this one a bit and I think it will layer nicely with Snake Oil. I shall call the marriage of the two Mayan Snake Bite! -
A tranquil scent, illuminated by joy and warm with the serenity of love: bourbon vanilla and soft sandalwood with tiare, white fig, sweet benzoin, guiac wood, French lavender, and a touch of warm patchouli. Reminds me of A Sudden Invitation and the Red Queen with out the cherry and plum replaced by lavender. Skipping down the street its lavender loveliness and woodsy. Simply beautiful the vanilla, sandalwood and the patchouli are in the background supporting the scent. I dunno why but this invokes spring to me.

Black and red musks with honey, leather, and sugared black rose. Eldritch Dark hairgloss is close to the perfume, its smells like leather, honey and dark roses. Its teh sex in the bottle!
-
White sandalwood, sweet incense, cypress, ambrette seed, champaca, and lotus pods. This is a close to the skin scent. The star of the show is the Lotus and every component adds to it. Very feminine and soft perfume. If you like soft floral scents then this is for you.

I didn't think this would work for me but surprisingly my adored it. It was like sexy tweed and lime!
-
I get upscale bubblegum with a back note of orange creamsicles. This one is fun! Not something I'd pick on my own but I had to get a decant to try it!
-
# 249 I am guessing lavender, tonka and orchid. Very floral!
-
# 79 first impression ambergris and vanilla!
-
I got decant #248 I am getting caramel, vanilla and sage from this one. on my skin is just sweet and sexy! I love it

Beth artistry outshines itself with Laura Belle McDaniel and this is a really complex and beautiful blend. The best way to summarize this blend is gunsmoke spicy florals. It dries down to a spicy vanilla floral on me. The vetiver is gritty and smoky and reads as gunpowder to me. It brings up memories of gun shooting with my father in Colorado Mountains. My biggest regret is not hoarding another bottle of two of this. (Sorry Midnight Aeval!)

This is almost a single note of patch with a cherry top note that fades away. I am love with this one!
-
Reminds me of Karme. So if you're a fan of Karme, run to buy this. Otherwise if you're not a fan of Karme, well then, you may not like this one. sadly, not a fan of this one.

This is the longest lasting smelling HG EVAR!!!!!!! OMG hoard worthy.....no, NO NOT hoard worthy. You don't wan't this HG I swear, it the devil!!!!!! *snicker* this is divine!

After swapping decants I ended up with Scapula HG and Chaos Theory XXX V|| Scapula is dark fruits plums and black currants with vanilla cake. Its sooooo gorgeous! Chaos Theory XXX V|| is the hairgloss equivalent to Mare Nectaris! Its starts off pretty boozy but then calms down to a gorgeous peach. Perfect for summer hair!!!

This is my second favorite HG from the Lupers this year. Very close to number one. It is heavy on the red musk and saffron with a touch of honey. Honey is soft and light and is overshadowed by the musk. This bares a strong resemblance to the Red Shirt Diaries HG that came out a few months ago.

This is my favorite from this years Lupers and the one I was most hesitate to try because I am not a tobacco fan. Its a spicy vanilla on me! Love!!!!! After trying my decant, I ordered a full bottle immediately. This will layer really with Aristocratic Couple.
-
The drydown is amazing! Straight from the decant it was in your face fruity. Its a bit overpowering, however the drydown is sweet and yummy.
-
It has a root beer smell to it when first applied to my skin. After that I get vanilla extract. I am a fan of this bath oil. Its rich and lovely.
-
Three words describe this scent for me bourbon vanilla floral tea! Fans of the bourbon bath oil from BPTP will love this. Its got a slight bitter smell when first applied but settles to a light airy tea with vanilla. Its really light on and you may need to slather this on one.
-
When first applied to the skin it was coconut. Its a soft coconut not black more fruity and mild. As it dries the honey and saffon come out. I amp honey, so it is the dominant note on my skin. This reminds me of a softer So Below without the patch and musk. Edited to add that the drydown on me is spicy honey coconut. I need a bottle! ********I bought of bottle of this and from the bottle it smelled like sake and patchouli. mmmmmm did my nose go weird? Or it is because I just pulled it out of the mailbox? Or did I get something else? Or the blend is different than my decent???

The Torture Queen lives up to her name. I had an allergic reaction to this. I had to wash it off immediately. I still smell like gardenias.....even though I have Hope and Fear Set Free and Sudden Invitation on. Not for me.
-
My first reaction was this smells like men's cologne. I am getting more metal than leather, and a barely there whiff of gum. Interesting blend!
-
Maybe its me and my skin chemistry or the aging of my decant but I musk and honey on the drydown of this blend. When it was in the wet stage I couldn't identify any of the notes. Needless to say, I am in love with Illustrated Woman because I can't keep from inhaling my arm. Soooo good! I hope the Carnival comes back soon. I have a few bottles to procure now!
-
So this is what carnation smells like! This blend is like candy, orange cream with the perfect amount of florals. I am craving some warm spring weather with this oil. This kind of reminds me of Reflective Vulva with the cream of this blend.

I probably won't do this review any justice but Arachnina is really well blended floral with spicy undertones. Must be the patch? It reminds me of a less perfumy Blood Popsicle, the drydown is similar on me. I have added another floral I can wear to my list: poppy! I can't wait til Carnival comes back but my decant will have to do for now!
