CMLXIV (964) In the bottle: juicy black berries (yum!) and, I kid you not, Grape Bonkers candy. (I'm one of those scents = memories people.) On the skin: Chocolate! Yum! As it dried down it was a lot of berries and a hint of chocolate still, I'd say almost juniper berries. It's very nice, not a lot of throw, but just enough that it gives me a thrill. Seriously wish I had more of this!

In the vial: sugar and cinnamon toast. Yum! On the skin: This is pretty heavy on the cinnamon and clove for me. I get an undertone of sugar... not really anything fruity. It smells delicious, like fresh cinnamon and sugar toast from the oven! A bit spicy warm, too. Great for the cold weather we're having. I'd have never tried this if eml298 hadn't been so kind! She's got me hooked now!

In the vial: HA! Oh my god that's utterly ridiculous! RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM! On the skin: Oh yeah, every kind of rum imaginable. Like Willy Wonka made a BPAL. Having tried this after I tried Creepy, I get it now. It smells quite delicious. I bet the combo of the two would blow your mind though. I've just barely picked up the peppermint and it reminds me of the Girl Scouts' Thin Mint cookies. Yum! Pity I'll never get a bottle of this.

In the vial: really faint roses. On the skin: Yeah, it's roses. It's so faint it's hard to find it on my skin. It's fresh and sweet, so very girly. Not my favorite of the rose scents I've tried, but very very nice!

In the vial: ooo sweeeeeeeet and juicy, like candy! On the skin: Watermelon? There's florals, but it's so juicy they're not bothering me. A bit of tartness to this, it's very delicious. Still getting watermelon as it dried down. Got a bit of warm, spicy-ness too. Would definetly wear during the winter months!

In the vial: Really dark, patchouli and sandalwood On the skin: I wanted to like this. I really did. I got a whif of lemon but it's so strong with the sandalwood and patchouli I couldn't take it very long. Heavy on the earthy notes. Reminded me very muchly of the old hippie-owned record store in my hometown.

In the vial: wow, there's not words for that... On the skin: Something about the mix of myrtle and lily... is very bad to my nose.
-
In the vial: sweet, fresh florals On the skin: Yeah... florals. I'd take a stab there's something like jasmine in here. It's a fresh scent, very clean and girly.

In the vial: smells like that "Vanilla Fields" stuff my mom loved. On the skin: Insanely over-powering florals! Holy... this stuff made me sick. I must have spilled some on my hands, besides the test spot, because it literally assualted me with a vanilla musk-like scent for hours. This is headache-inducing to me.

In the vial: spicy baby power. On the skin: Just something about dragon's blood resin... it just doesn't work at all on me. Gives me a headache. And the fig and I don't agree either. *tosses to the swap pile*

I've tried 2005's version, so here's the review for 2006's edition. In the vial: Hmmm... sugary-sweet sticky mens cologne? Ut oh. On the skin: Unlike 05's, this year's is NOT booze-heavy and smoky for me. This is light, almost like cheap cologne on me. I don't get any fires or smoke. Just this sticky-sweet rot that's giving me a headache. I'm so sad. 2006's version is not for me.

Fitting I get to review this in October. In the vial: Smoky, a wet smoky. Damp and dreary, with age and wisdom. On the skin: ok here's the florals. Kinda strong... the smoky left me. Getting the lilac here... and I think jasmine? Eep. Hrm. It does remind me of a spooky scene involving an ancient gypsy woman using an oujia board. Just, sadly, my nose can't take whatever's in it.

In the vial: Blinding white florals. Wow. On the skin: I dunno where that orangey note is coming from... orange zest? Anyway, conjures instant images of a unicorn, all blinding white. That's for sure. Gives me a bit of a headache though. Almost too floraly for my tastes. This one will probably take a few more sniffs before I decide on it. Very pretty, though.

Seeing as I missed Spooky... not gonna miss Creepy! In the vial: butterscotchcarmelrum! WOO! On the skin: I get really heavy carmel/butterscotch. Which is good, because that's one of the particular things I loved about Red Lantern. I've never been one for coconut, but the coconut in this doesn't bother me. The rum makes it alll boozy-swoozy for that extra "bad girl" note. I need like three bottles of this. Beth's certainly done it again!

In the vial: yummy exotic spicy roses! On the skin: Rose scents are always hit or miss for me. Harlot sorta disappeared into my skin on contact and left nothing behind. I didn't get any cinnamon (which is fine by me) and the roses were nice. But then it went sour and gave me a headache. I think I'll send it to my friend.

In the vial: Gingery florals... On the skin: Sadly, this turned into something akin to bathroom cleaner on me. Oh lord... That's really sad. I can smell tea and ginger, but there's a tang that just doesn't agree with my senses. Bummer. The fox demons dislike me.
-
In the vial: grainy sweet, like oats and honey. On the skin: Hrm... reminds me of a farm. It's light and sweet, much like I'd imagine a field of grain bathed in sunlight. It's strong for me, but not in a way I'd like. I like the honey note though.
-
In the vial: Orange-y. I can smell kumquat. On the skin: It really is a ridiculous scent! Very orange-y, all citrus and bright smelling, deepened by the white tea. There's a tang, which I think is the pepper. It wouldn't be an everyday scent, but it'd be great for fun! I think I'll keep the imp.

In the vial: Cranberry! With crisp apples, very juicy! On the skin: My first reaction was "Whoa, Lampades!", and Punkie Night is seriously similar. The cranberries are indeed the strongest, but the apples fill in and make it less sweet and more tart. Oddly, it reminds me also of every country-home decor store I've ever been in. But I *love* it! I need a bottle!

In the vial: unable to place the notes, except orchid of course. Very strong, almost expensive perfume-ish. On the skin: Still cannot place this. Oddly, it reminds me of my late beloved grandfather. The combo of his aftershave, hair products, and throat spray. Like hardcore memories brought up by this blend. It's a very strong scent. Will probably only keep it for the memories it invokes.

Geranium bourbon patchouli. Yipe! It's powerful, far too much to me. It's an earthy-aquatic, if that makes any sense. Off to the swap pile.

In the vial: Peaches! Yummy ripe peaches. With heliotrope. On the skin: Still very peachy... As it's dried down, the oakmoss and bergamont popped. Lightly musky. It's a pretty scent, indeed! It's sweet, but more that sticky sweet of over-ripe peaches with a bunch of florals on me.
-
In the vial: sweet sweet rain, with a hint of orange and pine. Yum! On the skin: The orange and pine pop way out on me. It really reminds me of the Oregon coast during the fall/winter, with a heavy rainstorm. This is delicious! I wish I had a bottle. It really wakes you up!
-
In the vial: Heavy smoke mixed with a hint of pine. Promising... On the skin: Yeah, serious pine here. Kinda like a forest of pine trees after a severe thunderstorm with buckets of rain. There's almost a tiny hint of sweetness as well. As it dried down, it turned to something similar to hand lotion on me. Oh well.
-
In the vial: a bit like Moxie; very bright. On the skin: It is almost sickly sweet to me. Not really citrus, but a golden scent none the less. Can't really place it. Not sure this is really something for me.
