In the vial: I definitely get the mossy scent. It's quite unusual. Wet: This is quite a green scent on me initially - I can't pick out individual notes at this stage. Drydown: I could swear there was some musk in this - maybe it's the balsalm? It sweetens on me as it dries, and becomes something quite lovely - almost a hint of possible salvation for our bug-eating lunatic? I like it.

In the vial: A faint dustiness. Hm. Wet: Dragon's blood! And...dragon's blood. Drydown: The dragon's blood is the main scent here. There may be a little bit of red musk as well.

In the vial: Apples! Warm, golden apples. Wet: The apples are the main scent I get - very golden, with the cranberries playing in the background. Drydown: This dries down into a lovely warm cider scent.

In the vial: Tea and lavender. Which is an odd mix, really. Wet: The florals come out at first on me, with the tea in the background. Drydown: The sandalwood gives this scent a very austure and Victorian feel. It's a perfect Victorian gentlemen's scent.

In the vial: Booze and musk. Hmmm. Wet: The sugar comes out initially, making this a very foody scent. Drydown: This becomes more smoky as it dries. I don't get much of the musk (sadly) but more of the smoke. I think my chemistry amps up smoke.

In the vial: Caramelly sugar. Wet: Thick sweetness - somewhere between sugar and caramel. Very strong and has a strong throw. Drydown: This one only gets stronger on me. It's too sweet, and almost acrid. No fruits - just the sharp sugar scent. It gave me a headache. Verdict: swap.

In the vial: Incense. It's a specific type of incense that I can't place. Wet: The woods and herbs come out very briefly (about ten minutes) and then the incense takes over. Drydown: Incense. This is a close skin scent on me, but one that I catch wafts of from time to time. Quite lovely.

In the vial: This is a very faint scent. I get wisps of pear and not much else. Wet: Still very faint. If I put my nose close to my skin I can get the pear again, with maybe a little leather. Drydown: This is an odd scent on me. Again, close to the skin I get very faint leather and pear. But occasionally I get whiffs of the same. It's unusual, and enough for me to keep the imp at least.

In the vial: Very foody to me - it smells like cake! Wet: The incense comes out now - it's lovely and light. I can still smell the cakes as well, but there is a burgeoning scent of smoke in the background. Uh oh. Drydown: The smoke takes over. The incense is still there, but it's very bitter.

In the vial: Foody - the chocolate comes out in particular Wet: All of the foodiness goes very quickly. I'm left with the scent of smoke and tobacco. Drydown: Smoke, smoke and more smoke. Sigh.

In the vial: Very faint dragon's blood and pepper. Wet: Dragon's blood and pepper. There's a slight "metallic" note as well. Drydown: I have no idea what happens with this one - somehow it ends up smelling like a commercial perfume on me. How, I have no clue.
-
In the vial: Thick caramel. Yum. Wet: The caramel and butterscotch come out - yummy! This is what I wanted Midway to be. Drydown: The yummy caramel fades far too quickly, leaving me with apples. Rancid apples. I had to wash it off
-
In the bottle: Hm, florals mainly, and a little bit of honey. Wet: The florals amp up immediately. They're blended so well that I actually can't pick out individual notes. There's something almost cloying about them - this is unlike any other floral blend I've tried. Drydown: Musk and honey. As always, the honey goes a bit wrong on me, but the musk saves it from being too bad. Interesting.
-
In the vial: Hmmm, I mainly get frankincense. Wet: My skin seems to eat this one. I can't even smell it up close. Drydown: This remains a very close skin scent on me. The myrrh does come through a little bit, but it's still mainly frankincense. For some reason, the scent isn't very rich or complex on me - not as much as I had hoped.
-
In the bottle: Dark and woody. There's some almost acrid in there as well. Wet: The acrid note comes out - not sure what it is. I get a bit scared. Drydown: Oh, this dries down into a lovely scent! Woody and a bit musky. Again, I have no idea what the notes are.
-
In the bottle: Aquatic, but only just so to my nose. I can't really isolate any notes. Wet: There are florals in here somewhere - they smell "blue" to me, obviously appropriate. It's quite a soft scent, and I suspect there are some resins hiding in there as well. Drydown: Neptune goes a bit powdery on me - but a lovely soothing powdery scent. There's definitely a resin in the background, maybe a musk of some kind, and a very soft floral. Very calming scent.
-
In the vial: Faint roses. I'm surprised by the faintness - I always expect Beth's roses to be more in your face than they are. Wet: The rose is still somewhat faint on me. What the? Drydown: Ah, there's the rose! It's definitely a red rose, but somewhat remote and almost dusty. It's a lovely scent, and captures exactly what it's meant to.
-
In the bottle: Clove, tempered by the other scents. Wet: Clove. It's not the type of clove that I usually like. The patchouli comes out a bit, but not much of anything else. Drydown: This softens eventually into little more than the black musk.

Tea rose, white sandalwood and a flurry of pale, virginal blossoms, smeared with a smoky, blood-soiled blend of myrrh, hyacinth, Daemonorops resin, dark musk and blackcurrant. In the bottle: Mainly white florals. Wet: Yep, there's the florals again. I can't actually pick out individual notes here at all. Beth is a crafty one. Sadly, after about thirty minutes of florals, the scent seems to vanish completely. Drydown: Somewhere after a few hours, the scent comes back. Completely changed - now I'm getting the resin and the myrrh. A very soft skin scent, but a lovely one.
-
In the bottle: Oh dear. At first whiff this one scares me - very overpowering florals. I seem to get something like jasmine from this - not sure which is the florals it actually is (or which combination of florals). I don't mind jasmine, I just have bad associations with the scent. Wet: The almost-jasmine hangs around for a while. On the skin, this is nowhere near as overpowering as I had feared, for which I breathed a sigh of relief. Drydown: This one gets gorgeous as it dries. The florals soften right down, becoming something that seems almost like the memory of flowers, and the sandalwood and musk come out a bit. It's a close skin scent, but I find myself catching whiffs of it from time to time. Very comforting to me somehow.

In the vial: Orange blossom is pretty much all I get - lovely and light. Wet: Yep, orange blossom again! It's the main note for at least the first hour of wear, with some of the other florals playing underneath it. This is definitely Lucy as she lived - vibrant and truly, truly alive. Drydown: This is a morpher. The orange and florals go away completely, leaving behind the white musk and a tiny bit of the frankincense. It's quite a light skin scent on me. This is the scent of the vampire Lucy - the Bloofer Lady. Dry and alone, and lost to her world.
-
In the vial: I actually don't smell much of anything. Weird. Wet: Again, a whole lot of nothing. I get very sad, because I wanted to love this. If I stick my nose right next to my skin I can get a whiff of *something*, but it's too faint to identify. After about 30 minutes I start getting whiffs of the florals - mainly the roses. Something else is interacting with them to give them an interesting dusty antique scent. Drydown: Aha! Finally I have scent. This is a gorgeous, very soft scent - primarily rose, but twined with the balsam and carnation. There's something almost incense-like about the scent, giving it and almost reverential feel.
-
In the vial: I get a lot of the creamy almonds that I associate with Dana O'Shee, but there's something different - the florals, I think. Wet: More Dana O'Shee similarity, but with a beautiful cold note underlying the creaminess. After about a half hour the scent begins to turn to a burnt plastic type scent - and I get very sad. Drydown: The burnt plastic goes away, thank the Gods, and the creaminess comes out again. It's a fairly faint skin scent on me, but I keep on getting wafts of it. It is, on drydown, still very similar to Dana O'Shee, though maybe a bit lighter.

In the vial: It smells like a mix of red musk and dragon's blood to me. Yummy. Wet: The musk amps up for me at first, and is utterly delicious. I do get a sharp "blood" type scent, but only briefly. Drydown: The scent becomes more dominated by the musky incense as it dries down. Sadly, it fades somewhat quickly and doesn't have much throw. I suspect more throw would result in this being headache-inducing, however.

In the vial: Honey, warm and golden. Wet: The fruits amp up initially, giving this the scent of peaches and honey. It's almost a tiny bit too heady for me when wet. Drydown: The fruits go away, leaving the frankincense and myrrh, softened by the honey.
