  1. mmmm sandalwood. This is extremely similar to Fenris Wolf. In fact, if Fenris Wolf is the gentleman werewolf, the Scherezade is one of his cubs that hasn't quite cut its teeth. It’s a lighter, more mellow blend, the musk is smooth and not overly strong, and balances very well with sandalwood and something that makes me want to say "tumeric" but i'm not entirely sure. there is definitely a foody spice underneath all this, i jsut can't pull it out.

  2. ... Dry black teas, Earl Gray, and leather.

at first the lemon scent of the earl grey is very prominent, with black tea being the base scent. The leather comes very quickly up to run neck and neck with the teas. This is good stuff. On later dry down the leather is fairly dominant, but the tea is still there and quite notable. unfortuantely this is a rather short lived scent. roughly 90 minutes after application it is almost undetectable. considering it's mellow beginning i wasn't really surprised.

  3. apparently bay rum has a lot of clove in it, because that’s what I'm getting off of this. A lightly boozey clove… maybe a bit of pepper too and a slight orange citrus as well? This is nice. Foody, yet dark, with a lot of heavy spices. I rather enjoy it, but T screws up her face at me whenever i make her sniff it. i think its jsut a little too sharp for her tastes. tough. i'm keeping it.

  4. pipe tobacco is certainly strong, everything else seems to be blended into an almost granular underlay to it. Wow. This is just neat, I certainly like it, but Pipe smoke just smells a little too old fashioned to me. So in the end it's prolly not for me.

  5. oh yes. This is what I needed. Light, smooth, an warm. The musk is very prominent, but not overbearing. There is a slight flowery/powdery note coming through, but its subtle enough to actually smell quite nice. I can detect a slight hint of buckskin/tanned hide and the dusty plains grass is there as well. all told this is really cool, though T says "it smells like an old lady. its feminine." i blame the taco flavored dip she's been eating for the last 30 minutes.

  6. intersting… a very crystaline white musk that merges very well with the floral scents. Its slightly soapy, but not enough to be offputting, plus I just got out of the shower…on second application the soapy scent wasn't there leaving just the crystal musk and floral undertones. I think i'm going to keep this around and see how it grows on me.

side note... this has me waiting for Finn or CuChulainn or jsut about anything from the irish cycles.

  7. personally I love this. The pipe smoke is quite rich, layered over a very good quality leather. The woods are very subtle after drydown. However, T doesn't really approve, just scowls at me. she thinks it smells like old man BO.

  8. midwinter '04

A melancholy, deep scent, poignant and brimming with nostalgia. The perfume of sugared plums over a breeze of winter flowers.

Very surgary sweet smell. A berry smell to it, either strawberry or raspberry Not sickly sweet, but pleasent to smell. T is of the opinion that this would be good for earing to a party or some other large gathering, but otherwise not something she'd wear regularly.

  9. an awesome blend of cinnamon and other spices, has a dark red, somewhat goff smell to it while being simultaniously warm and home-like. I REALLY dig this stuff. Quickly realising that my favorite notes are definitely spices and this has them in droves.

  10. dragons blood is kinda sweet but incensey. The leather is subtle and kinda nice almost a little soapy. The smoke seems to be an after thought, really only barely there as you pull away. Nice. But I think I prefer wrath when it comes to dragons blood blends. will have to try out a few more from ars draconis

  11. excellent. Slightly sweet vanilla is the dominant smell on me, but the tea is there with a hint of lemon actually and ultimately blends very well. the musks are blended around just neough to make this not too girlie. The more I wear this, the more I like it. pretty sure this will be a 5ml in the very near future.

  12. I can barely pull out individual notes from this. The ginger is there for sure, but still very subtle. I can smell the sweetness of the milk/honey, but that’s it really. In the end this comes across as a clean, bright, andsoft scent, with jsut a hint of soapy. Its nice, but prolly not for me.

  13. the peach wine starts out tremendously strong, and then remains very dominant. By dominant I mean completley overwelming on me. Can't really smell much other than it. Its reminding me of peach jello shots in college, and thats not a good thing.that was SUCH a bad night. Definitely way too girlie for me and reminds me why i swore off peach flavors for years. Off to the trade pile.

  14. starts out very piney, with a subtle "dirt" undertone, but the pine fades into a simple dark green. The whole thing smells like a gardeners shed. Which isn't actually a bad thing. for some reason it reminds me of a scene from lady chatterly's lover. --evil grin-- However it doesn't last very long on me. Two hours later you can barely tell i put anything on, which surprised me considering how potent it started out.

  15. sweet, cinnamon, with al almost buttery sense to it. a solid hint of "frosting" this smells like a cinnamon roll. Not a mall cinnabon atrocity, but home made yummyness. But… its not for me. Just too much torment knowing I can't eat the cinnamon roll without a day of pain n suffering (celiac).

  16. this stuff is awesome. The cinnamon and clove are very kickass. Dunno why, but both those notes make me hella happy and energetic. The dragons blood makes it kinda sweet and at the same time brings in a slightly incesnsey note, but its very warm and inviting and just awesome. additionally it seams to last forever on me, i even took a quick shower and could still get a faint hint of it afterwards.

  17. initially sharp and harsh, but dry down mellows it notably. Has a soft aroma of a backyard in the middle of a drought, and almost a dandilion floral smell to it. This reminds me vaguely of kansas in the middle of summer. For being such a mellow scent, i reallyl ike this a lot, due largely to the flashbacks i think.

  18. quite good. defintiely has a swashbuckler, swinging from the chandaleer, smell to it. the florals are jsut a little girlie for me, but we're definitley getting somewhere as its not quite enough to prevent me from wearing it. the vetiver and jasmine rescue it at the last moment bringing the florals down to a more green scent. the leather is only a background scent on me, not enough to clearly distinguish.

  19. again, a blend I really want to love. However, the buttercream is way too strong, ending ins a "wicks n sticks" flashback for T and a fairly strong dislike for me. The initial mead is nice, but disappears very quickly.

  20. An exotic, sultry blend of tobacco leaf, bay rum and heady Caribbean blossoms.

this is good, the rum is nice, the flowers are too girlie for me though. Just don't think floral scents are ever gonna work on me. Can't smell the tobacco at all. Unfortunatley it goes a bit soapy on me. Only slightly, but enough to end its possibilities immediately.

  21. as much as I like this scent as it permiates elphaba's house after belly dancing, I'm not so keen of it on myself. Initially the incensey oils were fairly strong, slightly reminicient of patchouli and a number of semi spicey notes I can't quite put my finger on. but hten the vanilla comes out, which i normally like. but mixed with the other notes it begins to smell rancid, like sour milk. color me quite bummed.
