I'll need to do a more in depth test later. I dabbed some on before I ran to work this afternoon. As soon as I sniffed the bottle I was immediately reminded of that Organix line of Coconut Milk shampoo and conditioner. Which is awesome because I loved the scent of those. It's definitely coconut but not that suntan fake syrupy coconut. It's warm toasted fluffy marshmallow-y coconut. Warm and cozy. Stayed close to the skin. Seemed to disappear quickly as I can't smell it on my wrists a few hours later. The boyfriend hugged me after I put it on and said I smelled good! Probably won't nee a back up but after testing tomorrow that could change!

The boy loved the pumpkin smores atmo. He is a foodie scent lover all the way and just tolerates my usually parchouli and incensey perfumes and atmos. So when the pumpkin smores bottle started running low I knew I needed to find something else he would enjoy our apartment smelling like. I went with the sugar plum and vanilla after ready reviews. It's probably not something I would've picked for myself alone but I am glad I did. It's very light and sweet. Honestly right of the bat it reminded me of Smarties candies. Which is perfect because the boy loves smarties! It's childlike and comforting. Unfortunately it doesn't last very long so I have been spritzing it on my scarves to be able to huff it throughout the day

Just received this. I agree with OctobeGwen: HOLY CLOVE! It is a scent I do like, it is spicy and sweet enough without going into straight up foody territory. However the clove just overpowers everything else in it-in the bottle and on my skin. We will see if aging helps with bringing the other notes out of hiding!

House of Unquenchable Fire Atmosphere Spray
littlebeky replied to CapricornSister's topic in Atmosphere
Amazing. I absolutely love it. The boy only likes things that smell like food (pumpkin s'mores atmo is his fave) but this he doesn't mind one bit. It's like the fanciest incense I have ever smelled. That's immediately what I thought. It smells fancy. But warm, earthy and smooth. I love it. I just sprayed my scarf with it! -
Echoing OctoberGwen-she took the words out of my mouth! When I first sniffed it it reminded me of Mopsfledermaus minus Mops' spices. Must be the musk+bourbon vanilla in the two of them. The BF said "One of those smells like a head shop". Once on my skin however the similarities fade and that dark, dusty, smokey feel comes through. I can't wait to wear this in the autumn weather to be honest!

In the bottle it seemed to scream the parts I didn't want it to scream! The apple blossom, bright and floral. But I could smell the creaminess in the background waiting. Wet: right away, oh no shampoo? Luckily that passes pretty quickly as the vanilla and tobacco come out to ground it a bit. It is bubbly and bright still against that creaminess. Dry down: UNFFFFF. BEAUTIFUL. Creamy, earthy but with a delicate feeling to it, with just a smidge of that bright floral and fruit poking through to energize it a bit. Now I am thinking I need a second bottle of this. It reminds me of a less perfumey Black Lace on me, more cozy. And I could see this even being lovely in the cooler autumn and winter weather because it is so cozy feeling.

Ladymeag threw a half decant of this in with the other decants I ordered. It isn't a scent I would have picked out based on the mint but I love trying things I never would have! Mint! It is a very wet, herbal mint. I like the scent, it is refreshing definitely for the summer months. Almost masculine but not. It isn't a scent I would wear myself I don't think but I like it enough that I will keep the half decant!
-
I thought this would be MY summer scent. I am glad I got a decant. I should know by now that due to the excessive use of lemon and lavender in cleaning products (same thing goes for that clean white musk scents used in laundry soap etc!) that no matter how much I like the scent I can't shake the association. It definitely has a sugared lemon feel, like the Lemon Scented Sticky Bat rolled around in some fragrant lavender buds. It's a comforting scent and very fresh, it is summery. Unfortunately I have a BF who finds anything that smells soapy to be WAY too much so I know he will hate this. Looks like ill just have to hang on to my decant for those really hot New England days this summer, and make lots of fresh lavender lemonade to have around!

Woah gummy candies!!! And then, holy cow this smells just like these sour jelly beans I got at Hannford's a few weeks back and it's making my mouth do that thing when you think of sour candies and it kind of waters? (Or is that only me?!?). It doesn't last long but it's so good it's worth the repeated applications. Fruit, sweet, sugary, SOUR! I LOVE it! I thought I would love Love, but I already have a similar scent from Lush. I thought Happy Baby would be the scent that would be my "summer" scent. But Uncle Brian is going to be my bottle purchase for sure!!!!

This was the scent I was planning on buying unsniffed. I am glad I didnt because now I am almost positive I won't need a bottle. Right as I opened the imp I smelled the soft creamy rose. As soon as it hit my skin the rose came forward a bit more and I was stumbling over what the eff this reminded me of. Then I realized. This smells almost IDENTICAL to Lush's Rose Jam scent. I have bottles of the LE perfume spray and I hardly ever wear that anyways. It is a lovely scent, a bit more rose compared to Lush's RJ scent and I do like it more as a perfume oil than alcohol based like the Lush scent. But alas I don't need more of it! It is LOVELY. If anyone here loves Lush's Rose Jam scent you will love this.

Thanks to my lovely fairy, I got to get a bottle of this! Something about it stood out, but it is a scent I would never usually go for. I like dark earthy spicy or foodie scents typically. The idea of a slightly floral vanilla intrigued me though. Secretly I had hoped maybe it would be a good Elfv4 stand in. Unfortunately for me, it must be the white musk, it comes across as straight up laundry detergent on me. That overly soapy clean smell. Not that it isn't a lovely scent, one that I am sure works well on a lot of people, but it's too clean for me I think. I want to give it time to age and see what happens when I test again since its one of those bottles I may never get my hands on again. But we shall see how it ages!

Out of the bottle I immediately got sharp black leather and CHERRYALMONDOMGSWEET! Very strong! I let it sit for a few hours and then gave it a test. Very sweet almond and sharp leather still however it wasn't as in your face. As if dried down the almond was still present but my nose picked up that lovely patchouli and the leather seemed to soften to a worn in warm leather. I don't get vanilla or oak etc its just almond, leather, patchouli. My boyfriend however told me it was "wicked sweet smelling" after I had it on or like an hour which was the point where all I could smell was patchouli and leather no sweetness. Different noses! Banshee Beat is my too scent and this is not like BB. It is its own dark and sexy scent. Dangerous as others have said.

Much sweeter than I expected. I expected more musky perfume with a hint of foodiness. However this is very sweet and doesn't change much from bottle to skin even into dry down. This smells like anise cookies on me! It lasts forever on me I could smell it when I woke up the next day. I want to let this settle a bit before rehoming, but right now it doesn't seem to be a scent I would wear frequently.

Bad review as I have never smelled ambergris before and don't think I own scents with it as a note. I took a chance and ordered this, as I missed out on French Tobacco and it is a lovely SN, and didnt want to make the same mistake. Not for me I think. My bf said "soap". It isn't a bad scent, a soft grey scent with a bit if soapiness. Lovely on someone else I am sure, but not a scent I see myself wearing. Womp. I thought I would score!

Bummer. I didnt pay attention, had been planning on ordering a bottle of this once I got my luper decants so I could place a bottle order for those as well. Well, decants aren't here yet and the SN quietly went down before I could order. I got my hands on a decant (thanks to Alshneato for pointing me in the right direction and Dark Alice for selling it to me!) and now the regret I felt is DOUBLED. This is SO me. A "me" scent. Only a few bottles have become staples for me and I know I would slather this on daily. It is a rich tobacco with burnt caramel slinking through. Nose-to-skin it is a little sharp and earthy. The aura of scent around me however is that sweet caramel earth. Color wise this reads as warm brown in my mind. I have had it on for about 20 minutes and it just keeps getting sweeter. A smokey sweet. Bottles, bottles, where are you?!?!

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?
littlebeky replied to Absinthe's topic in Recommendations
Thanks all! I will look into them. I do like morocco but the bf doesn't like it...but I will try my imp again tonight. I have a tester of Anti Saloon League and its nice but very medicinal on me, more cream than Stimulating Sassafras but not by much. Have not tried lyonesse. I have to double check the notes as I cannot do honey or beeswax (vegan) so there are some top gc's I haven't tried because of that reason. I definitely want to hunt down some Celeste!! I love saffron. And will look into lady death: savage. Thanks all -
Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

I tried searching but the only Internet I have is my phone so I may have missed it somewhere. I desperately need something similar to Elf v 4! Since there are no notes listed and I know nothing about scents, I cannot find a dupe. Banshee Beat reminds me of an earthy version of it (and I have already acquired a back up bottle of it!) and Love's Philosophy reminds me of Elfv4's spicy, louder sister. Any other suggestions? Elf v 4 on me is warm, musky vanilla that has amazing staying power and seems so comforting and complex and snuggly. It's truly becoming my number one scent, but all I have is a sniffie and an imps worth in bottle -
This smells like a sexier, more "red", boozy and sweet Samhain on me. Samhain was apples and spice, this is berries/wine and cake. Both have that earthy, dirty, sensual smell behind them. Maybe I am in the minority here. But it it the first scent that popped into my head. I will have to do a side by side test. Overall, I quite like this!
-
Sweet and musky berries! As it dries a but of the carnation comes through. Starts heading towards powdery but stops right before and stays pretty. Very sweet, very bright but also sensual I like this but don't think I would wear it often due to how close it gets to becoming powdery on me.

Received this as a frimp thanks to a lovely forum member! Lemonheads. I was worried this would be lemon cleaning products. Immediately the lemon has a sugared warmth coming from it. It took me a minute, my brain was trying to figure out what it reminded me of. LEMONHEADS. Does not morph really just mellows out over time. Sticky sweet lemon sugar. I quite like this!

Received a small amount to test thanks to a lovely forumite. Wish I hadn't! Have not smelled Antique Lace so I cannot compare. It is a beautiful creamy, yet light, vanilla. A hint of something clean or floraly smelly but just barely. I absolutely hate florals but this is beautiful. It's a clean yet creamy beautiful vanilla scent that, like others have said, is a mature scent. I need more! D:

Ok, I suck. I just got into BPAL and have about 20 bottles at this point, all from the forum and eBay. I never gave Snake Oil a thought, figured I would try it someday and spent my time buying LE bottles unsniffed, building my hoard of hard to find and seasonal scents while ignoring the GC scents. Well, I decided to try Stimulating Sassafras Strengthener and the Lab scent me an imp of Snake Oil! In the bottle: nothing exciting I thought, spicy incense. Maybe a little tiny bit fruity too?? Don't quite get the hype. Yet. Wet: OMG what does this remind me of?! I'm having smell déjà vu. Seriously frustrating. Those gummy fruit snacks, not candy like gummy worms but the fruit snacks comes to mind. But only briefly. It starts softening and settles into a creamy, spicy, incensy vanilla but I do get a small hint of something fruity here and there. Beautiful. Dry: after a while it goes just a tad powdery on me. Which with this scent isn't a scent-killer for me, it isn't too bad. It is still beautiful. Verdict: I'm going to need a bottle. And I have read that AGED snake oil is the way to go. I would love to try an aged bottle as well as trying snake oil with some other scents to layer. Maybe my Stimulating Sassafras Strengthener? I can just smell it now! I will be on the lookout for aged bottles and be experimenting with layering tonight, that's for sure. BPAL NEWBIES! Don't skip over this scent like I did.

I just received this. I would keep this for the bottle alone, so cute! In the bottle, effervescent ginger orange soda?! It really smells FIZZY! On my skin, it stays rather fizzy, a little spicier. On the dry down the creamy vanilla comes in to soften this up a bit. Smells like a ginger ale float-using real ginger ale like Maine Root or Reed's brand. The boyfriends opinion on the in-bottle scent? "Smells like the stuff they make you use at the dentist". That foamy fluoride stuff. Oh well, I like it!

Butterscotch immediately! So sweet! Then a blast of earthy dirt. The labs description is just so dead on. It starts sweet but always has that dark dirt background, which eventually dominates on my skin. Not a bad thing though! Love this scent and I will have to use this sparingly to make sure I have it forever!!

I tested this at the will call and still have it on my wrist. I want to buy a bottle of this at some point. Very sweet. Very full flavored. On my skin it goes maple. I don't mind!
