Baron Samedi smells of the tiny barbershop on the island where I grew up; the scent of cherry pipe tobacco and bay rum would waft out the door on hot days. This has a strong base of almond, yes, but the cherry spoke to me immediately, almost too sweet when wet, but drying down to spiced rum, tobacco, and perhaps, chocolate? Very masculine and very comforting, reminiscent of "Swisher Sweet" cigars or chocolate covered cherries.
