I had the exact same experience, unfortunately. Love the caramel in the bottle. On my skin, however: nauseating tobacco. Blecch, get it OFF!!

Yecky incense. This is not good on me at all. I know it's a crappy review thus far. Maybe aging will improve it? I'll update if I have any revelations...

Moon Rose First Sniff: A rose garden. Wet: I just smell straight-up rose. My nose isn’t sophisticated enough yet to distinguish between types of roses, Drying: The word that comes to me is “mature.” Not exactly grandmotherly, but definitely old-fashioned. After a Few Hours: Soft roses, much less intense. Overall Impressions: A mature, feminine scent. Borders on grandmotherly, but stops short of that. Rating: 6.5/10

Pink Phoenix First Sniff: Cotton Candy. Wet: Liquid sugar. My teeth hurt just smelling this. Drying: There’s a sort of weird undertone that I can’t quite distinguish… Is it the strawberry? After a Few Hours: Still sugary-seweet, though not as intense as before. Overall Impressions: Cavity-inducing, but I’ll keep it for when the mood strikes. Not without its charms. Rating: 6/10

Beaver Moon First Sniff: CHEESECAKE IN A BOTTLE! Wet: Still cheesecake. Mmmmm. It is so spot-on and you can even smell the graham-cracker crust. Drying: Still cheesecake. After a Few Hours: I want to eat my wrist. Or better yet go out and buy cheesecake. Overall Impressions: A delicious foody scent to wear when I want people drolling over me. Rating: 8.5/10

Pink Moon First Sniff: Candy, just candy. Wet: A definite something else is there, but I am still crap at picking out notes. It’s a bit cloying, I must say. Very sweet, and dense. Drying: I think something fruity is coming out now. The sweetness has toned down a bit and it’s become more pleasant to wear. After a Few Hours: Ok, it’s turned a little powdery, but after the too-sweet beginning IMO this is a definite improvement. Overall Impressions: Turns out nice enough. I think I’d have to be in a certain mood to wear this, and probably not to the office. Rating: 6/10

Numb First Sniff: Kind of old-lady perfumey. Sorry for not being more articulate. Wet: A bit lemony now, and floral. Drying: Oh dude… I don’t know what is in this but I like it. I like it a LOT. It’s very refreshing. After a Few Hours: Ok, now I understand the violet. Reminds me of Lush’s Gratuitous Violets at this stage, which is one of my faves. Definitely a sweet, chilly violet. Yummy. Overall Impressions: More please! Definitely completely different on drydown than in the bottle. Rating: 8/10

Snow Bunny First Sniff: Definitely pine. And lemony berries? Definite sweetness. I like this one straight off. Wet: Yum. Boy did I hit the jackpot with this one. Very strong but good strong, not overpowering, I don’t get cleaning products or cough syrup, just an amazingly original scent. Drying: Love it. Great throw. Not young-girly but definitely feminine. I wore this to bed last night and to work this morning, and felt very confident in myself. After a Few Hours: Fades beautifully. So glad I swapped for a bottle. Now I need MORE!!! Overall Impressions: The rating and my new avatar sum it up. LOVE IT. Rating: 9/10 (Leaving room for improvement as this is only my third review. I may revisit the rating later.)

Glasgow First Sniff: My first review, so I’m going to be crap at this. I can’t distinguish any notes at this stage… it is intriguing however. Wet: It’s not a scent I would associate with blackberries, so I presume that’s the heather. Reminds me of old lady soap at this point, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, if that makes any sense. It’s perfume-y. Drying: Ok, now I understand where the “rosy heather” comes into it. I like this; it’s pretty. After a Few Hours: This has softened quite a bit. (Baby powder?) Faded quite a bit also, not nearly as strong. Overall Impressions: I’ll keep the imp, but not so sure about a bottle. This would be a good lazy weekend scent. Rating: 5.5/10

Ulalume First Sniff: Waaahhhh! Blecchh! Ok, composure. Don’t know what’s causing that reaction, but I’m new to BPAL, so I’ll give it a chance… Wet: I don’t like this at all right now. I wish I could distinguish the notes because I want to know what I’m reacting so strongly to. Could it be the cypress? Drying: Yeccch, it’s giving me a serious headache. After a Few Hours: (Can’t do it, am washing it off as we speak.) Overall Impressions: No no no no NO! (Dear God, it’s even soap-resistant!!) I got this imp from a lovely Lushie who had some stuff on my wishlist. Too bad this didn't work out. Rating: 1/10
