This smells (on me) like Crabtree & Evelyn's Damask rose perfume mixed with a hint of baby powder. I agree with Koumori that this is a mature scent...I envision elegant old women wearing this, all dressed to the nines and wearing fabulous hats...or Marie Antoinette wearing this scent as she strolled around the halls of Versailles.

At first whiff from the bottle and on my skin it is like "HELLO LOTUS!!!" THe lotus is very strong, but it reminds me of something my mum used to wear. Everyone is noting how floral this is, and I love florals...but this smells more like how I'd imagine a warm, golden sunset to smell (if it had a scent, LOL)...not like a bunch of fleurs. After a few hours, I get lotus, jonquil, and a very faint hint of jasmine and sandalwood (motia attar, I presume). The lotus is still pretty dominant on me, but instead of smelling light and floral it takes on a darker, heavier and richer quality when mixed with everything else. Lovely scent, indeed!

Actually, I have gotten different smells off of this each time I wear it. It has dried to a slightly less cloyingly sweet-boozy floral version of Smut once and the last time I wore it, I swore it was minty roses which dried down to smut with a smudge of rose and a whole lotta sugar. As for the effects, I haven't noticed husband getting more amorous than usual the last couple times I've worn it, but I HAVE noticed that at work it seems to make people more attentive to things I say (but not in a love or lusty sort of way, more of what I might expect from a very very dilute effect as purported for "Bend Over"). Interesting. It seems that the voodoo dieties seem to know better what I actually need at the time and utilize the powers of the blend toward those needs. All the effects from this oil have been along the similar line of attentiveness and good vibes. Hmmm...

In the bottle: Smells like sultry movie stars should smell...wowza. On the skin: I didn't really notice rose at first, but it makes me think of a bouquet of delicate white and pink flowers. It smells like a wee bit of tea rose in there, along with resins, amber and perhaps a touch of honey. I suppose my wearing of it was rather half-assed, because I simply picked it because the scent made me feel good and for my 1st day of Intermediate Statistics class I wanted to feel good and have confidence about myself. In that light, it worked. The girl sitting next to me bought me a coke at the break time and the profs seemed very attentive to my questions. Everyone who smelled the scent on me really liked it and asked what it was called. I told them "Glamour" and they all nodded and said "Yeah, it DOES smell like glamour!!" Call me a silly fool, but this one just makes me *feel* happy. It is like the oil is infused with positive energy and positive-self-image energy, Wear this and feel like a hottie!! EDITED TO ADD: Over 24 hours later and this still is smelling delicious and makes me feel great every time I sniff my wrist. Rawr. Glamour has some mighty awesome staying power on me.

Storyville smells like a warm vanilla-hazelnut butter rum yummy-yum in the bottle. Immediately upon applying it really smells like a rich, delicious vanilla sticky bun...but with a little kick! I get a hint of carmelized vanilla sugar, but just a hint of the carmelized note. Soon after applying on my skin, a lovely smokey incense note starts to pull ahead...WOW. Is this what you call "throw"? The carmelized sugar note is there, but just barely. After drydown, I'm getting more vanilla and butter, but still with the smokey-incense in there to jack up the sexiness. On my skin it goes from totally foody to smoky-sultry with just a dash of comfort-food quality to it. There seems to be some light tobacco scent, and maybe a tiny tiny tiny bit of honey. NOTE: I smelled this on someone else, and didn't notice the smoky-incense notes. Just a really whopping strong but warm and delicious vanilla as the main note on them. Storyville is definitely one of my favourites and one to be hoarded obsessively!! Please bring it out as a 1-day special forum-only scent or something, Beth!! On the scale of 1-10, I rate this a 12. EDIT: 6 hours later, it is still there...delicate smell of smoky church incense with just a wee hint of buttery vanilla with a pinch of spice.

I haven't tried this on my skin (yet), but upon sniffing it just made me think of crisp, bright white...crystals, fresh sparkly snow and very tender light flowers. I have to admit, that simply a sniff made me feel like my whole being had been purified. Must get a bottle of this for my own!!

When I opened the imp, the first whiff reminded me STRONGLY of an Earthy pine scent (the balsam, I presume). I was a bit skeptical about actually applying this, but I went ahead. Wet, it still smelled woodsy-earthy (like a softer, greener patchouli). A bit of honey peeked out from the side, but just a tiny tiny bit, and there was a smokey note, similar to church incense. At drydown, the honey stayed subtle, the beeswax became more prominent and the smokey smell mellowed in with the patchouli. I like that this is a patchouli that I can wear without smelling like a dirty hippy! The musk is very very subtle, like an accent to an already well-blended scent and it comes out after drydown. It is sweet, raw and sexy. This works well on me, but I think it would be equally sexy on a man!

Im reviewing this scent on my 10-yr old son because I'm already sniftesting another scent on me at the moment. My first impression of this in the bottle is "warm iced oatmeal-raisin-rum cookie". The scent is warm, and the cinnamon and rum smells really stand out. I'd dare say there is also a sharp tone of sugar, but the sugar scent presents itself like baked goods rather than a pungent overpowering smell. On the skin, the buttery rum starts to really stand out. It still smells of iced oatmeal raisin rum cookie, but with more of a rum edge to it. As it dries down, the clove starts to stand out on his skin. It is a sweet clove scent but it definitely takes the lead. There is also a nice almont undertone that is present but nice and mellow. Very nice, something for wearing to the club at night while wearing your darkest gothic finery or as a lovely everyday scent for a man.
