    Enraged Bunny Musk

First on this is light, citrussy, powdery and a tad soapy underneath. The citrus-note vanishes within the first few minutes and now it somehow reminds me of laundry detergent. After about an hour something starts to smell a little off. When I tried it another time it additionally started to get very loud and unpleasant. It seems that this doesn't go along well with my skin chemistry, so unfortunately this is no scent for me.

    Delphi

On application I get a bitter green note- I'm not sure if it is the bay or laurel, I can't identify it (I know dried bay leaves only from cooking). It's not unpleasant, but it is very strong and overpowers the honey. After about 30 minutes it sweetens up and mellows a little and becomes a herby and somewhat spicy honey. I'm not sure if it is something I would wear. I like the scent, but sometimes I had the impression that a slightly sour smell wafted up from where I applied it, which would be unpleasant in public. Apart from that I'm not sure in which situation/mood I could wear this, but maybe I'll keep the imp to find out.

    Hellfire

Upon application this is slightly sweet, I get the leather and the pipe tobacco, and it's pleasantly musky. It's not sharp at all, I wouldn't describe it as powdery, but it is very smooth. For me this oozes gentle masculinity and makes me feel all cozy and protected, and at the same time it's very sexy. It's a pity I don't have a man at hand to try this on Usually I prefer men which don't wear perfume, but this is one of the rare blends that would cause me to grab him and bury my nose in his neck instead of being a turn-off. The throw is moderate and the scent does not change very much after application. It lasts a few hours, although I did not really keep track of it anymore after about 3-4 hours of wear.

    Fallen

... A regal scent, glowing darkly, elegant and patrician, but unfathomably desolate. Cherubic white sandalwood and golden musk with a dark halo of amber, a breath of imperial florals, unbending woods, and the shadow cast by vetiver and violet. I'm comparing two versions- I have an aged and a fresher one here (unfortunately I don't know how old the aged one is, but it seems very different). I always like to review both when I get the chance, to see if it pays off to stock up on a scent and let it sit for a while before use (or if I have to use it up fast). The aged version smells mostly like violets after applying, in the fresher one I can nearly only pick up amber and a little musk instead. It seems violets get only better and stronger with aging, I've already encountered this effect with Saturnalia. I don't get the sandalwood in either of them. This scent is very light and does not have much throw, after 15 minutes there is only enough left to catch a waft when I bring my nose near my wrist. Now the fresh version gets a little deeper and the violets come out, the notes are quite balanced although I still don't get much sandalwood. The aged version is still heavy on the violets, but it becomes also little deeper and more 'creamy' now. After one hour the aged version is faded, I don't even smell it properly anymore when I press my nose to my wrist. The fresh version stays nearly as before, the amber sticks out the most, and the vetiver came into play too. This is a scent that I can imagine more on a guy than on me, although it does not have a very masculine feel by itself. The fresh version has more variety and interesting nuances to it, while the aged one seems to smell mostly of violets and fades very quickly. ETA scent description as I didn't realize I'm going to land on the top of a new page.

The most hippie / hippy scent you have tried?

Here is another vote for Urd. I've tried lots of blends with patchouli (which I really like) and usually I'm not able to relate to the 'dirty hippy' comments in the reviews, but Urd made me think 'hippy' myself the first time I smelled it It mostly becomes Nag Champa and a little muscadines after a while, and for me it's the most 'hippyesque' scent of BPAL I smelled so far. edited for grammar
  6. It's an LE that may be hard to find by now, but I recommend Lick It. The staying power might not be the best because of the soft mint note, but on me it lasted 4-5 hours today (applied sparingly) and I tend to sweat a lot- I think it's ok to reapply after that time in hot weather. I think Lick It is a very good scent for summer, it's light and enjoyable, doesn't go weird during the day and I believe it is also pleasant for other people to smell in this heat because you don't associate any additional warmth or depth with it (although I wouldn't describe it as a cold scent either).
  7. Has anyone the chance to compare The Pit & The Pendulum to Sin, Scherezade and Lust? It reminds me so much of one of those, but I don't have the imps here and I'm not sure if it is different enough to give me a reason to stock up on it as long as it's available. Please help me find differences/similarities! I have the impression that The Pit is somehow more smooth and little less woody/more syrupy than any of the GC blends, but I definitely need some help there
  8. Here is another vote for Perversion if you look for something along the lines of Red Lantern. I didn't compare them directly, but Perversion reminded me a lot of RL when I tried it, especially in the first stages of wearing. It doesn't say in the description that it has coconut but it's definitely there, and they both had a similar feeling to them.

    Imp of the Perverse

The first thing i get is a very sharp alcohol-note. It reminds me of my last excesses with a bottle of tequila, when I ended up saying hello to the toilet bowl I tried to get over that nasty smell and look into it further- when only a whiff of it comes to my nose it is fairly pretty actually, I get the roses and a little booze. But as soon as I get too close to the spot where I applied it I'm back to the tequila-incident. Oddly the smell also reminds me of a facial cleanser I had once- it smelled very very similar (and also reminded me of tequila lol), especially the 'stingyness' is the same. Before I received the sample (1/5 of the actual imp, from a decant circle) I was very torn if I wanted to smell it in case I fell in love with it. Now I'm glad I had the chance to try it, since I can be sure this is not a perfume for me. I'm not sure it's a perfume for /anybody/ that is

    Three Witches

At first I get cinnamon and clove and a somewhat creamy undertone. Almost immediately the white pepper overpowers everything and I suppose the creaminess (or mildness for that matter) also comes from the white pepper as I often noticed this tone when I used it for cooking- it's nothing in comparison to black pepper, but also spicy enough. This has LOTS of throw and lasts really long too. For me it was too strong and reminded me too much of cooking. Also the white pepper got up my nose and put it off every time I got a little too close- not the right perfume for me.

    Sugar Skull

wet: This smells like sugar and I also get the candied fruits- it's nice and light. I also have the impression that there's a hint of alcohol hiding behind the fruits. drying: I soon get a caramel-type smell underneath it, yummy. after 20 minutes: Oh oh, it's starting to get plasticy Yep, from this point on it keeps changing between caramel and plastic. Too bad, it started out so lovely with the candied fruits, but something doesn't seem to agree with my skin chemistry

    Gingerbread Poppet

This is gonna be a short review- it's indeed gingerbread, and the scent stays the same from the first moment of applying to hours after. It has a light to average throw, and it's just lovely- a nice and cozy scent for wintertime. I think it'd also make a great room scent.

    Blood Moon 2005

Blood Moon is very warm, dark, deep and heavy. At first application I get mostly musk, something sweet, and a really off-putting scent beneath it all that doesn't agree with my nose. After a few minutes the vanilla becomes noticeable, the musk settles and gets lovely, a little cinnamon comes out and everything mellows a little. The scent that makes me nauseous is still there, though not as dominant and cloying as before. I tried this three times by now, and every time I think I have to swap it away because of the weird note it has, but then I smell it again and am not sure about it. Somehow it's very appealing at the same time. This is nothing for every-day wear.. all I know is that I have to be in the mood to wear something heavy and complex like this, for example it's nothing I could wear out to dinner- a whiff of this while I have a full stomach makes me feel a sickness at the back of my throat. Make sure to apply this very lightly, it has a strong throw!

    Shill

I mostly get butter from this, a little sweetness, and also a kind of artificial smell I can't really classify. As lots of reviewers said before it's the kind of popcorn you get at the movies. All in all very nice and light, but nothing I'd wear as a perfume, since the buttery note is a bit too outstanding and turning slightly sour on me.

    Pink Phoenix

Toothachingly sweet. To me this is not cotton candy- it's way too heavy and deep for that. I get a little vanilla, tons of sugar, a tiny hint of strawberry and a really pungent note- I think it's the honey that goes all mad here. I don't know the smell of sweet pea though, it might be this instead. The description sounded as if I would love this since I get along well with sweet stuff, but unfortunately this is a little too much for my nose.

    Traveling with BPAL

I think the best way is to make sure everything is tightly closed and stays upright even if shaken a bit (also the imps). Find a box that's just big enough or if there's too much empty space fill it out with newspaper shreddings to make sure the bottles have no room to fall over. If it's only during a drive you can keep the box with the bottles separated from the other stuff- as long it is not ruthlessly crammed together with tons of things in a packing case or similar and can't fall over this really should be enough.

    International Shipping Info+Questions

Now that my first package from the Lab is about to get shipped (ordered 01/30) I'm wondering how big the packages are (7 bottles, 2 imp-sets)- do they count as a letter or parcel? Does the Lab label the papers for customs with the actual value of the items, or cheaper? I'm worried because if it is a parcel (over 2kg or big in size) and is labelled over $20 it will get stuck in customs for 4 weeks for sure, and if it's a letter and labelled over about $20 there's also a good chance I have to wait for it this long. What do I have to expect?

    Baku

Before reading the reviews this was all sage to me. Now I can smell lavender too, but the initial impression still is sage. I didn't try this as perfume. I used it before bedtime to see if it would stop me from waking up every other hour during the night because of bad dreams. And indeed, this was the first night for a long time I've been fast asleep. For me it's nothing I'd wear as a perfume, but it makes a great bedtime scent- and it works. ETA: Of course this is mostly lavender *smacks forehead*- I've been all focused on sage because I have some sage-candies that smell exactly the same. Nonetheless I get something herbal behind it, it's not exclusively lavender.
