    Lucky #20

Jasmine and maybe some violet, this was a dark and potent floral. I didn't find myself particularly any luckier using this, but I also don't always know how to use these and so my implementation is nebulous at best. (It's also not been a good month to judge luck in any form.) Lovely to sniff though

    Uranus

Eccentricity - Adventure - Clairvoyance - Defiance - Humanitarianism - Lawlessness - Magnetism - Paradoxes - Astrology - Whimsy - Progress - Electricity - Invention – Satire Cinnamon and woodsy (maybe a little cedar?) along with a metallic touch that sometimes means clove that's gone wierd on me. Very spicey and earthly, masculine and strong. Nice, definitly empowering, but not for me.

    Aunt Caroline's Money Bag

Cinnamon, clove, and a touch of something citrusy perhaps, this was, as noted, a bit sweeter to me scent-wise than Money Draw. Functionally it worked pretty well though I think I had better results with Money Draw - potentially because the distinction between the two isn't clear to me. Gorgeous smell and effective. Nummy.

    Temple: Egyptian

Dry sweet grasses and resin. Holy smokes the resin.. strong, mysterious, dark, temple hallways and a touch of fruit at the end. I was really surprised at this blend as it was amazingly complex scent wise and extremely useful for the deep meditation I tried today. Verra nice and one i may have to nab a bottle of.

    Noir

Soft, smokey myrrh and something dark and a little bit edgey. The dry down fades into lilly of the valley which is sort of an odd combination. It reminds me of a beautiful ingenue whose wandered into a not-so-up-scale bar. Lovely but not quite me though I was glad to have tried it.

    Aunt Caroline's Money Draw

Scent wise - spicey, warm, and cinnamoney with a touch of clove or orange. It's gorgeous to smell. It's even better working. This turned what should have been a rather expensive day into a day where I actually saved and earned back some money. It's not entirely to the credit of the oil but I'm fairly convinced this didn't hurt and did in fact help. Definitly nabbing a bottle.

    Yemayá

Fruity sweet, honeydew melon and a touch of ..maybe mango or watermelon. It's gorgeous, ripe, lush, fruity and exactly what one would expect for a goddess representing fertility. This is wonderful and I absolutely adore the scent.

    Jupiter

Redwood or cedar, it's hard to tell. Strong, woody, and masculine. This was a sort of cheerfully foresty scent, which I didn't expect. Fun to try but certainly not something I'd wear a lot.

    Temple: Greek

Bay leaf, some sage, something fruity (grape? fig?) and a dry down of sweet honey. This smelled, as someone pegged, like a darker athens, very mysterious and ritualistic rather than sunny and bright. My leanings are not toward Greek mythos and worship so I didn't use this one as Temple: celtic works much better for me in that regard but the scent was lovely

    Seven African Powers

Grassy herbals and a touch of resin, I am unable to review this one in terms of use as I'm both unaware of how best to use it and haven't been particularly full up on luck lately. The scent was clean and earthy but not overpowering. Pleasant but given my lack of use for this, not something i'll be seeking out.

    Oshún

Very sweet and fruity with a touch of floral. This did remind me somewhat of a lighter, more playful blood rose in many ways. Very femine and fluid and lovely. I can't review this in regards to ritual aspects as I didn't use it as such, but the scent itself is lovely, heady without being overpowering and ultimately very girly.

    Enochian

Again, on the list of those not practicing in Enochian, I was careful with this one and the review is scent based only. A soft, woody, dusty undertone with a touch of floral. This reminded me of old books and long days of study. Interesting, very serious, and slightly incensey.

    Concentration

I LOVE this. Almost medicinal smelling at first, this a shock to the senses that wakes you up and refocuses you. I wouldn't really wear this as a perfume but as a concentration aid it's spectacular and I have to go get my hands on a bottle somewhere.

    Fiery Command

Gardenia or dragon's blood - a strong flora with a touch of spice on the dry down (I thought I got some patchouli in there too) This was stronger than I thought, a lot of throw, and made me feel very confident facing a room full of sophomore students who didn't want to do their homework.

    Peitho

Warm and sort of musky and dry on me, I was expecting a little more richness in this scent and was surprised that it seemed to go so woody on me. It's pretty but nothing I'm dieing to keep and reminds me more of meeting good old friends than seducing someone I suppose. Then again my chemistry has been fantastically wierd this month.

    The Black Tower

Amazingly complex. A touch of leather, a touch of sweet grass and ivy, and an undercurrent of deep red wine. This is herbal, sweet, wine-filled and masculine all at once and changes nearly every sniff I get. I suppose it's rather gender neutral but something in it makes me think it would smell better on my beloved than me even though I'm really enjoying the experiance. Lovely!

    Dreamland

So soft it was barely there on me, this was a soft, sweet and light floral that my skin just absorbed at an enormously fast rate. I never really had the chance to figure it out as it simply was so light and wispy (and pretty) that it kind of evaporated. Stupid chemistry.

    The Haunted Palace

Blood orange, sweet and citrusy with a soft overtone of golden vanilla and then fading into a soft floral. The odd part about this was I really loved the individual stages but together they sort of kept throwing me. I was wierdly unsettled by this scent and just didn't like the overall complexity of it enough to figure out WHY. Off it goes thanks to my brain/scent connections that I can't figure out.

    Evening Star

Feminine, floral, gorgeous and etheral and...oh crap am I allergic to something in there. Sneezing, sniffling, nyquil isn't going to save me allergy. :sob: I'm loathing having to ship this off as it just smells so beautiful, but if I can't breath it's sort of hard to smell it.

    Al-Araaf

The red fruitiness of lotus with a touch of honey - this was a lot deeper, richer, and more musky than I anticipated. I wished vainly for more lillies and whatever fae flowers are but to no avail. Longing like a Poe poem... my chemistry and this series are just not getting along.

    Spirits of the Dead

I can't tell if it's Linden or the tea in this that is slightly lemony, not sharp citrus but more like soft lemon parfait. This is a soft, dry, very clean scent, far lighter than I expected out of a Poe poem and very spring morning fresh. It's lovely but not one of my favorites so off it goes.

    The City in the Sea

Aquatic notes tend to either stay very true (rarely) or go very powdery on me. Sadly this one takes the powdery route and I don't get to smell much of the wood or the other notes in this underneath it. In the bottle there's a gorgeous undertone of violet that I'm sad never really appears on my skin.

    The Sleeper

Rosemary is sharply herbal and present but softened by a touch of lilly and oakmoss. Oddly i don't get much jasmine in this save for a faint spiceiness beneath. This is complex and intriguing but not quite me so I probably won't be keeping it as it's a bit astringent for my tastes.
  24. Northernminx

    Lenore

Dark musk, smokey incense, this is a dark, forboding scent with a great deal of earthiness and touch of ripe dark plum that suddenly goes...aw crap hello Vetiver. I really hate it when that note takes over a blend but as usual this goes that wierd rotting smell that vetiver tends to create on me. Very grave like - not quite what I wanted. Oh well

    Annabel Lee

I love this one. Soft and fresh with a touch of mossy floral and a slight hint of cucumber and fresh grasses. Gorgeous, pretty, feminine and somewhat aquatic without being watery. Definite keeper for me.
