Rich, spicey, and so thick you can almost feel it in the air. This was heady and sensual without being overly feminine. Definitely lust in a bottle. I’d love to be able to wear this more but I find it just a little too … present… to consider as a general scent though I may keep an imp handy for stay in bed with the boyfriend days.

One of the few oils I’ve ever had to wash off, this was all that weird herb in Highwayman that kills me. Something in my chemistry makes this turn into a sort of sour icky diaper smell so while that nice smokiness in the bottle is lovely, on me, not so much.

Nostalgia encapsulated. A soft, wistful blend of dry flowers, aged linens, and the faint breath of long-faded perfumes. Vanilla, but not the rich golden sort from Snake oil. This was light, aged, fading vanilla and a touch of dust and my grandmother’s perfume. Pretty and nostalgic but not really something I wanted to smell like, this would have made a nice room scent in my mind as my skin made it go a little plasticy at the end.

Lemon pledge. I can’t say much more as my chemistry did the weird thing again and I never got anything else. Sigh. Oh well. Short and sweet review because when my skin does this, there's not much else to say.

This is the first time Dragon’s Blood has smelled properly spicey on me. Lots of sweet resiny spice, a touch of myrhh and a little clove. I only got cherry out of this in the vial so it’s now a heady, sweet and spicey blend that’s pretty much guaranteed to make my boyfriend chew on my neck for a while. Mmm nummy and quite likely a keeper.

Lots of florals, pretty feminine and very very very flowery on me. Lots of lilac and tuberose, I didn’t get much violet in this. This has been one of the few BPAL florals I didn’t immediately adore and I think it’s because something in it kicks up my allergies. Oh well, maybe next time.

I’m not sure how this managed to be ozone and incense all at once, but it did. Incredibly complex and intriguing, this was a very fresh, earthy but open scent. Clear and cutting while still grounded. Lovely.

Musk and mandarin and oleander were the predominant notes in this for me. This was feminine but sexy, a girl who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to chop off a few limbs to get it. Lots of slinky warmth and heady spices.

Sweetly smokey and just a touch of leather underneath it all, this was mysterious, masculine, and a little creepy. The leather really starts to come out as this dries, making this a more incensey version of De Sade on me. Yummy yummy.

I really really keep getting lotus from this though I’m not sure if it’s just my brain or not, but this had the fruity red floral I usually associate with that note and my chemistry. Herbal but not dry herbal. This was a very complex blend to pick apart and I really missed most of the notes I admit. As the dry down hit, myrrh popped to the forefront. Calming and mysterious

Softly herbal and fresh to start, this is very light, slightly feminine, but not classically floral. There’s a definite earthiness to this and as the blend dried I got an almost damp mustiness out of it. Lovely and fresh but not quite me.

White wine and a touch of pear and that wierd fruity sweetness that smells like bubblegum on me - which is pretty typical for lotus flowers. Whoa incredibly sweet in a boozy, bubbley sort of way. This reminds me of a girl all in pink with blonde hair bouncing around - not exactly typical BPAL imagrey. This really was just too sticky sweet for my tastes and I'm sad since I liked the white wine and pear part. Aw well, off to swaps.

I was expecting this to be more floral than it was, but it was a very grounded floral scent, not white and flowey but a bit more of a practical earthy floral. Mandarin, Myrrh and a bit of lilly were the predominant notes on me and while this ended up flowery, it started off with a nice fresh, clean herbal - very green. Lovely and complex and well blended.

Opium in the vile and going on this was strangely herbal for me. On the drydown it sweetened and lightened a very soft, floral, sophisticated scent with a touch of refined and smokey class. This reminds me of Glen Close's character in Dangerous Liasons, just a touch too sophisiticated for innocence. No mandarin or vanilla for me and this is lovely but not quite enticing enough on me to wear it more than a few times.

Mint liquoer in the bottle, this has been quite perfectly described as a coconutty thin mints with just a touch of chocolate. This is amazing as a perfume, complex and startling in it's smell. It's..well... spooky. Sweet and pleasant, this somehow just doesn't feel very me. I don't really want to smell like a thin mint as yummy as the scent is and while I liked it, I didn't adore it enough to deprive others of the experiance so to auction it goes.

I got a lot of neroli and bergamot in the imp, very strong and smokey and herbal and I wasn't really sure what this was going to do on application. It stayed the same while wet which was a bit scary but the dry down mellowed into an almost smokey fruity scent. The mimosa and something faintly floral are the prominent scents now though I'm wishing more of the clove came through with my chemistry. Intriguing and intoxicating and complex but not quite me. This also fades quickly for me.

TONS of Ozone, crisp and sharp and clean. This is very much a post-rainstorm scent, still sizzling with electricity. There's a touch of faint floral and moon oils as this dries down but the ozone was so over powering that it reminds me of a quickly rolling storm. I actually found this a little too strong and masculine for my tastes, if refreshing. I will either be tossing it to Jake or swapping it off but it was fun to try.

Green, very very green. I don't know how a scent can be a color, but this definitly is. Tons of lime makes this very sharp with a little mint coming in to cool everything down. The herbal notes really don't come out on me until the end but they're still present. I found this a little too edgey for my tastes, it made me covetous and grabby and very much feeling a little off center. The smell was great but it just didn't settle well with me.
-
Warm spicey golden herbal, this was gorgeous, like sun warmed sage or church incense. I found this very soothing, but also somewhat masculine and since it didn't last overly long on me I'm sending it off to a new home.
-
Having finally gotten to test an imp of this I was hoping against hope that it didn't do the typical verbana/lemon/pledge switch on me but alas so sad. I do have to say that unlike some of the more lemony fresh blends, this one stayed lemon on me the entire time. Sigh. I'm dissapointed in my chemistry but not totally unsurprised. Oh well, swapping away.

Lots of lime and lots of citron, this went inevitable lemon drop on me (this seems to be the week for wearing blends that just hate my body) The lavender creeps in at the end however, masculine and dangerous and slithery. This reminded me of a slightly grittier version of villain, a litlte more edgey and dangerous.

The dragons blood became the dominant note in this for me, which meant that there was a light floral scent under all that spice. The cinnamon was prevalent for a while, but the clove and pepper never popped in. Cinnamon and flowers just didn't do much for me on this one and I guess I had hoped it would be a little...well..angrier. I have long since learned the DB can be odd with my chemistry however so not such a huge loss and off to swaps.

Very fruity and almost grape in the bottle, this was very warm and full of sweet golden resiny smells on me. Lots of honey in this and a somewhat mellowing touch of musk. This was soft and soothing but not overly special with my chemistry. off to swaps.
-
Aw no citrusy something and I'm gonna have to go wash this o- Hey. It went away. How very odd. Buttery bright gardenia blossoms and a touch of vanilla and jasmine, the tea rose never quite peeks through but that's fine as this is lush and bright enough. Very floral and feminine and the vanilla adds a nice sweet glow to this. this one wasn't so much me but I am tempted to give it to my gardenia loving mother.

Wow I'm either totally allergic to this or I've developed a random soap reaction today that I was unaware of. Sneezy and itchy which is a pity since i love the effervescant fruitines of this. Lots of pear and a little floral from the plumeria and it's gorgeous. Oh well... guess I'll have to give in to my body's wierdness and swap this one off for now.
