Mmm, Baneberry. To me this is a lovely dark green and dark purple scent, it reminds me of Bewitched, but it doesn't have that sharp medicinal smell. Instead, this reminds me of those plug-in room fragrances, of body wash... This really is very pretty, but I wouldn't wear this as a perfume.

I apply from a decant of my big bottle which I'll refill whenever it needs refilling. Chin: If you want to keep your oils REALLY pristine, try using Iso Alcohol to clean the dropper instead of soap and water. I use that to clean everything I use to transfer oils, and I soak old bottles in it and everything. It really does the trick. I learned this from a friend of mine who works at a University Lab. He was fascinated with the whole blended oil thing, and he shook a finger at me for using soap and water because he said 'Soap will ALWAYS leave a residue of some kind", whereas the alcohol will not. It's worth the extra few bucks, trust me. -Leslie Is iso alcohol and rubbing alcohol the same thing?

Interesting. At first Carnivale was sweet... and then I got the floral... and now it's spicy... and it's not changing again! The spiciness ends up staying dominant, not letting this become more floral or sweet really, although all of the notes start to fade a bit.

The bountiful, bright and vivacious prelude to the Harvest. A horde of wet, ripe fruits: green apple, apricot, blackberry, black cherry, black and red currants, cantaloupe, English pear, guava, lemon and lime, orange, mandarin orange, kiwi and mango, passion fruit, papaya, Georgia peach, raspberry, plum, tangerine, pomegranate and strawberry over a luminous blend of lunar oils. In the imp, Fruit Moon is really strong; it's like melting all types of fruit candies in a *huge* vat and stirring... that's the smell. Oh WOW. On it's melon, peach, orange, apple, pear, passion fruit, can't... stop... smelling... myself!!! I'd probably get all of the notes, but there are just so many... they come and go so quickly, like all the fruits are bouncing along on a wheel that keeps turning. Now that this has dried, it's more difficult to pick out individual fruits; this just smells really fruity and tangy. And even later... oh no, what happened? All I get now is a kind of... I want to say after taste, but of course that's not right. Now it's like the fruits are rotting, growing mold and such... oh boo!

Pink Moon is sickly sweet when it's wet, but dry it's light pink strawberry cotton candy... with the smell of spring flowers. It's young, girly, powdery, and yummy smelling.

Megaera is interesting. I can identify the grapefruit (mmm) and I think the black amber and plum, but I'm not sure what the other notes smell like. Later on, the grapefruit is less pronounced and everything seems to be blended together very well. This is a pretty scent and feminine too, but I'm not sure if I like it enough to wear it regularly.

Szepasszony, ooo! This is beautiful. Aquatic (reminds me of rain, waterfalls, oases) and floral (pretty... and perhaps a bit like body wash, but different from rose soapy). Clean, crisp... not a "tempestuous whirlwind" though, but perhaps a slight breeze or wind that's blowing while it's raining. Cooling and refreshing. This would be the perfect scent for a scorching summer afternoon or anytime in spring.

Forbidden Fruit reminds me of something, but I can't put my finger on what that something is... Anyway, this blend of sweet/tart and jasmine blend just doesn't work on me. Boo, another imp that's going into my swap baggie!
-
Aeval is predominantly a green (haha, fairy queen of Ireland)/floral scent (yay, sweet pea). I can also smell the white musk and something warm, which must be the tonka. This is a very nice blend, but alas, it is also another that turns soapy on me.
-
Nyx is mostly jasmine on me, not so much rose. This is a very peaceful, quiet, dark scent... and kind of comforting, as if the evening/night sky were wrapping itself around me like a blanket and protecting me, but oh. Headache. Hmm ok this one isn't for me.
-
Lucy's Kiss... *tickle* *tickle* my nose.. eep! This is a pretty rose scent, but it's a bit ::sigh:: soapy. Lucy's Kiss smells to me just like Persephone, minus the pomegranate and plus a smidgen of spice.
-
Sacred Whore of Babylon is a sweet, floral, nutty combination. Hmm... I think this is the first perfume I've smelled that contains nut notes (I wonder which) and I don't think it's agreeing with me. Off to the swap baggie!

Whew, Akuma is potent in the imp! On I get a bit of the "blood orange" (yes, it's dark), but not the raspberry really. This is dark and spicy, but not really powerful (not much of a throw (maybe because I didn't put much on though) and it's just... vanishing!). Akuma reminds me of Kuang Shi a bit.

In the imp Midwinter's Eve 2005 smells a bit like berry/grape alcohol, with a bit of a florally undertone. On it's berries! Very sugary grape/berry bubble gum!!! Bubblicious (sp?), bubble gum tape (whatever the actual brand/name is I forget, it's been a while!), fruit snacks! This is really sweet... and it also fades quickly.

Hmm! Blood Pearl is warm, kind of smooth (coconut), kind of rough (the musk and/or orris), and irritating my nose ever so slightly. Once it dries down, it doesn't have much "throw"/quickly disappears on me. Another sniff (the whole scent is vanishing as I type) and I get a faint plasticky smell.
-
Ooo, interesting. Masabakes seemed to be kind of warm, probably because of the myrrh? but then things shift and it seems like a cool scent, only for a bit before switching back. This is dark, a bit bitter, and sexy; it reminds me of Scherezade, Lust and Desire hahaha... this'll be another clubbing/out at night scent!
-
I'm not sure what frangipani smells like, but I definitely get rose and jasmine from Delight. It's pretty, but I don't think this blend is as unique as some of the other floral scents I've tried.

The "youthful girlie perfume" in Snow Bunny must be the airy & tangy fruit notes I'm smelling, but at the same time there's a little bit of something earthy that's tying this down... must be pine and some spices. This is an interesting blend, but I don't think it's for me. edit: Once this settled on my skin, all the notes seemed more seamless and as one instead of each standing out on its own; also, the pine/spice has receded a bit.

The Raven is pretty dark and ominous, yet kind of airy at the same time... if that's at all possible. I like the musk in this, but I dislike violets so... this one's up for swap. If you like violets, try Saturnalia.
-
I wanted to try Saturnalia because... well... I hadn't tried it and... This is a gray/brown scent to me. It's kind of bitter and woodsy (but unlike any of the woods I know--they don't smell like this) and makes me think of damp earth, rotting wood, shadows, bugs, perhaps some green grass and small wild flowers. Going to wash this off now...

Erato is quite the floral, mmm. Rosey with sweet pea (I'm not so good at identifying floral notes yet!) Sweet, feminine, pretty, but a little soapy.
-
Juliet is a young, hopeless romantic spring/summer scent. The pear is there in the imp and at first on, but recedes more and more as it dries. I think that the lilies, heliotrope and white musk may be overpowering not only the pear but the honeysuckle as well, which is too bad... oh a bit of ache in my forehead now..
-
Bewitched is a unique blend of dark green/herbal and red-violet-black/sweet berries. It's more of a balanced blend initially, but as it dries it goes more reddish purple berry-like. At times I get this sharp kind of medicinal smell though...
-
Psyche is mostly lavender on me, wrapped in rose and white musk. This is a springy/summer scent great for wearing during the daytime. It's very feminine and romantic. I let my mom and sister smell this and their comment was that this was the only decent BPAL oil I had tried on thus far out of quite a few; I'm a fan of this as well, but... well the downside is that [although I'm kind of sick] smelling Psyche has stuffed up my nose.
-
I wanted to try Scherezade because it's so popular and... hmm yes, there's "sensual red musk" and it's definitely spicy. It's bold and mysterious at the same time; this scent *is* attraction... it *is* looking for romance. I'd probably only wear this in the evening or at night...
