    Chaste Moon 2005

Chaste Moon is a milky floral blend; I can smell milky/buttery/creamy notes, some florals (I'm thinking small and white, similar to the floral notes in Snow White), and a sparkling something (must be the lunar oils). This is a pretty blend, but I don't know if I'd wear it regularly as a perfume.

    Cathode

I'm not sure what ambergris smells like, but Cathode is definitely mossy and minty (mmm!). How unique and lovely! Pale green... sea green. A little bit later the mint has backed off a bit and there's some kind of floral note coming through. Oh, too bad I have to give this up in a swap... well I suppose I could put this on my wishlist again haha although I'm not sure when I'd wear this if I did get it again, maybe to relax and/or clear my thoughts when I'm about to do some schoolwork.

    Anne Bonny

I get red, brown and green from Anne Bonny. This is pretty spicy and bitter; it reminds me of some of the other blends I've tried like Lust, but this isn't quite as strong and it doesn't really stand out for me. I don't think I like this enough to keep the imp.

    Snow Moon

Snow Moon really reminds me of Snow Bunny; they were both odd scents to me. There are small, cold flowers and there’s pine/fir… sounds like they’d work together, but that wasn’t the case for me. Snow Bunny was more girlie and powdery I think, but other than that these two are pretty much the same!

    Sea of Glass

Dazzling light, like looking at the sun or seeing sunlight reflected off the ocean… that’s Sea of Glass. Aquatic with perhaps water lilies or other flowers that grow in water. Fresh, clean, crystalline/see-through and/or perhaps the palest blue imaginable… pure… and a bit soapy.

    Hecate

Hecate is the second noticeably nutty scent I’ve tried; I don’t think I fare so well with these. It smells exactly like the three notes it’s comprised of: almond, myrrh and dark musk. At first it’s really almondy, but later on the musk takes over a bit.

    Bess

From Bess I mostly get lemon. There’s also rose, a bit of mint (makes this interesting), and florals (the five different rose variants and orange flower… funny, this doesn’t strike me as a rose scent because it’s not soapy really). After it’s been on a while, the lemon isn’t as strong and blends in more with the other notes. I don’t think I like this one enough to keep the imp.

    Paris

Paris is mostly lavender and lotus (kind of sweet) with a touch of spice. Immediately after putting this on, I thought of Psyche (another lavender scent), but I think Paris is more soft/light and sweet whereas Psyche is a headier and more floral. Perhaps it’s because of its name, but I can see nice, expensive shops (hahaha), couples holding hands, the Eiffel Tower… tourists hahha. Oh wait, what happened?! Everything is a lot fainter now; the lavender is nearly gone and the lotus and spice are more noticeable… And a little later, this smells like… cardboard boxes (yeah, they have a smell!)! ::sigh:: I like so many scents initially!

    Nuit

My first impression of Nuit was “ooo, lovely.” White musk, jasmine, rose that fades in and out, eventually is more or less in control... and then backs off, sweet. This is delicate and romantic; a dark dark blue sky with an endless number of shining stars… and just as you’re about to blink from looking upward for so long, a shooting star is there and gone in a fleeting moment. Only thing is it may be a bit too floral for me and because of the rose it’s a teensy bit soapy…

    Hollywood Babylon

In Hollywood Babylon I can smell… wait, this smells the tiniest bit like White-Out at first! I can detect the amber, heliotrope, and red musk at first then a bit later comes the sweet black cherry, which is kind of creamy. There’s a bit of strawberry in this too. Hmm… kind of pretty, but uh-oh it’s gone a bit plasticky, boo. And later on… yeah, this one is for the swaps; it’s definitely sweet and plasticky.

    La Belle Dame Sans Merci

La Belle Dame Sans Merci is a green scent (blue aquatic notes and yellow flowers haha (also, is that a tiny bit of lemon that I smell?))… a kind of soapy one and clean… and without mercy! There’s something about this that makes me think she knows how to get her way and always does. If she doesn’t, look out! Oh I’m getting rose from this now… I won’t be wearing this; it’s giving me a headache.

    Pride

Pride is a rose scent and rose scents tend to turn soapy on me, but on the plus side, this combination of Moroccan rose and narcissus really does make me want to tilt my chin up a little more and keep my shoulders back and chest out. It makes me think, "I'm great!" (Would be great for a bit of a confidence booster... I'm thinking class presentations and models on runways...attitude!! (as if they'd need it though!)) Hahaha most rose scents don't do all this to me so this is pretty unique... but still... this one is another for the swaps.

    French Love

French Love is a pretty cool color (rosey dark pink/nearly red) and it's kind of warm, sweet, tangy and spicy (what a combination!) both in the imp and on my skin. Somebody said this earlier, but this reminds me a bit of those candy "conversation" hearts, the pink ones (kind of spicy and sweet)... with florals and a bit of sourness mixed in. There's dragon's blood resin in this and I can't identify the other notes although the floral, I'd imagine, is white/purple/pink.

    Carnal

Aww... Carnal smelled a lot more like mandarin in the imp! On me, this is fig and dried orange peels; it's giving me a bit of a headache.

    Rose Red

WOW Rose Red 2005 smells just like a fresh cut rose... or rather, about two dozen of them, long-stemmed and with leaves, in a semi-large and tall clear vase initially/settling in on my skin. It's like they're growing on my wrist! This rose is much more real (I could very well be smelling a bouquet of roses) than any other BPAL rose note or blend, which tend to dominate the scent and turn soapy. Rose Red is unique in that it doesn't turn quite as soapy, but still... this isn't for me. Ah, it's not as potent now... has softened quite a bit. Red rose petals instead of freshly cut roses.

    Moon Rose

Fresh, clean and delicate Moon Rose smells like a hauntingly beautiful... soap (darn it, rose). If only this didn't turn out this way one me! While smelling this I'm picturing night-blooming flowers amidst a creek in the woods on a slightly breezy cool summer evening. The sky is dark blue, turning violet and lightning bugs (also called fireflies) are beaming and vanishing... magical... but soapy!

    Thalia

How odd, I used to like plumeria a lot (had a big bottle of Bath & Body Works lotion... do they still make plumeria-scented products?), but now... not so much I guess! The plumeria in Thalia is bold and juicy, the pear is barely there and I can't really smell the champagne note. Upon sniffing at the imp and at my skin this reminded me of La Belle au Bois Dormant. Thalia is more radiant, bubbly and boisterous. Good Cheer, indeed.

    Fae

::sigh:: I really liked Fae when it was first on, drying down, settling in. It smelled absolutely heavenly! Sweet, tangy, just... beautiful. I got the white musk and the peach which also smelled a bit citrusy like the perfect orange or clementine. I couldn't stop smelling myself. And then... after it had been on for about half an hour or so it turned into a faint meh-smelling powder.

    Delirium

Delirium is definitely merry... and mad! At first the smell of apples and lemon dominated (mmm). Not an unheard of combination for me because I know some people who dip/brush lemon juice over freshly cut fruit to keep it from turning brown (I don't do this though). And then in another few seconds, the rose makes itself known. It quickly pushes the other two aside... Now it's not so merry or mad, but just another rose scent with a faint citrus undertone.

    Velvet

Velvet's quite interesting... once it's on I smell chocolate, but white/vanilla-y hot chocolate type of chocolate. Soon after, the sandalwood and myrrh appear. This is a unique blend, but I doubt I'd wear this.

    Clio

Clio to me is a yellow orange scent; it's woodsy, orangey... kind of like furniture polish or some kind of kitchen cleaner...

    Aizen-Myoo

Wow, Aizen-Myoo is potent! The first time I had this "on" I had just opened the imp to sniff then put the lid back on... and as that snapped in place, little droplets of the oil splattered onto my palm. This made me sneeze and made my head hurt a bit. This reminds me of something, but I can't pinpoint what exactly; it smells kind of woodsy and sour/tart (fruit). Pretty different from all the other BPAL oils I've tried.

    Debauchery

Debauchery... hmm. I'm not sure what civet or opium smells like, but I suppose I'm smelling them both now along with the red Egyptian musk. This is a red, smokey, kind of heady and spicy scent. It's naughty, come hither, kind of daring, and sexy... but not for me.

    Spellbound

Spellbound creates the effect of its name; it is quite entrancing and seductive. This is probably the only rose scent that hasn't really gone soapy on me, but then after having it on for a while it has to start tickling my nose and hurt my head... boo.

    Grog

Oh wow. Grog is definitely foody (butterscotch/sweet) and boozey. Unfortunately, I'm not a pirate and I don't want to smell like pirate rum!
