Initially it was dry, dry grass and dust, but after a while it turned to... slightly caramelized brown sugar? I really have no idea why. Anyway, before the sugaring, there's a certain graininess to the smell that I find difficult to describe -- a bit like the graininess of stewed pears, but not sweet, I mean. Not my thing

I can detect the hay, and the leather to a lesser extent, if I stretch my imagination, but mostly it's sweet bread. Sigh. A warm scent.

Slightly grassy and sorrelly at first, but quickly turns into... honeysuckle. Again. I have no idea why everything is turning out so sweet!

There was a bit of an herbal tang when I first applied it, but almost immediately, it faded and left me with a slightly grainy honeysuckle sort of smell -- and I mean actual honeysuckle, which is fairly mild in the grand scheme of things, not honeysuckle perfume. It is an inoffensive scent, but not what I hoped for

Ahhh, thank you! Honestly I got a bit ~WILD WHIRLING WURDZ??~ before even making it a quarterway through all that unexplored potential I'm curious -- what do you mean by "pale"?

Also not a very strong scent. Starts out with the dirt -- a dry, loose sort of dirt -- then gets grassier? And there's this wisp of incongruous creamy sweetness in the background, hmm. Not sure what that is, and it's not very obtrusive, but it's weird.

All right, I definitely just have a problem with whatever it is that perfumers use to evoke warm winter spices. It's happening too often to be mere coincidence. Wet dog with fish flakes, augh! Fortunately that goes away for me and just leaves behind... prunes and apple cider. I could see -- er -- smell it as pear just as well, but the (non-wet-dog) spices confuse my poor unlearned nose It's a clear kind of sweetness, if you'll forgive my use of vague, faux-synaesthetic terminology. I personally don't have much of a desire to go around smelling like food, but if I did, this would be a nice collectionbit.

I have no idea what juniper berries smell like, but I'm not getting pine at all. Actually, the whole thing reminds me rather of water in general and less so its specifically frozen manifestation. At first sniff it was practically honeydew (though not particularly sweet); later on there's a sort of very very faint, warm-ish sweetness that I think is vanilla? //edit: Second testing. There's a detectable mintiness right off the bat this time round, hmm. Oddly enough, from a distance it smells like generic scented lotion of some kind, though I can't for the life of me figure out which brand. Huh.

It was such a sweet aromatic sort of wood when it first went on, but it got a lot saltier as it dried. Quite literally in olfactory terms, as I haven't got the imagination or know-how to wax too lyrical I'm not sure I smell beeswax at all, or dust, but generally speaking it definitely gives me the impression of old and well-worn wooden things.

It's very difficult to smell this at all. The oil is also filled with a lot of tiny bubbles, which is interesting and has not happened with any of the other imps I've tried? It looks fascinating, like shaken honey Anyway, if I stick it right under my nose, it smells very grassy at first, in a way that is simultaneously harsh and juicy. There's a sweetness underneath which is very difficult for me to figure out, even after drying for a while. I could almost swear it's like some kind of very sweet bread, which is maybe slightly ridiculous a description. Later on it gets berryish, but the sweet-bread thing doesn't go away.

Browsing through some of the threads for scents meant to evoke stone, I see mentions of things like citrus, mint, vanilla... I'm mostly a perf00m n00b, so perhaps I'm just ignorant of the ~mysterious alchemies~ of perfumery, but I've had experiences of "aquatic" or "snowy" scents not actually smelling like bodies of water* or accumulations of snow and that makes me curious as to how literal it is when something is described as having a "stone" note or whatnot? * which I actually associate mostly with wet rock/sediment anyway

I received a frimp of Sheol today -- it's rather a pleasant sort of scent, all things considered I'm hopeless at telling flowers from one another, even considering that I'm no perfume maven person in the first place, but it's definitely that kind of sweet -- some kind of mellow, powdery, creamy-sweet flower. Slightly honeyish. Not the sort of thing I would have looked for on my own, but if it were a person I would definitely smile at it and attempt to initiate benevolent interaction.

I just received my imp of Scarecrow and applied a bit. It started out burnt-plastic -- "nail polish remover" is not a bad descriptor -- then ten or so minutes later, acquired a definite whiff of banana candy. I don't even know, man. Hang on, let me clear my nose and see how it is now... yep, banana candy, just fainter than before. I don't even. //edit: And the bit I accidentally got on the side of my finger smells like bananary grass. Seriously what

Fresh on my skin, this was puuuuuure sandalwood. Enough sandalwood to knock out a horse. Not particularly dry or sharp or herbal, just... overwhelming. Three hours later it's much more palatable, and I can see (or smell rather, aha) where some people are getting minty/eucalyptusy impressions... I actually quite like the worn-down version of it; perhaps I just need to apply with extreme caution? Deliberately wear it down right off the bat?? Hm. //edit: Hang on, I just reapplied a drop and wow that's different. There's the eucalyptusy thing right up front! And a little something else? Big difference, anyway. I'm guessing maybe it was the temperature... weird. I kinda like it????
