I love the florals in this, but they are very overpowering and oppressive. I think I could only wear this as a sleep blend- it's too heavy otherwise.
-
This smells very much like an evil lemon, a lemon who has been up to no good. It's quite dark and a bit spicy. This would smell really nice on a boy.
-
Antique Lace was a light powdery vanilla on me- It's pretty, but kind of "meh" on me. I wore this once when picking a friend up and she said it smelled like sunscreen. Hmmmmm.....
-
This started off pretty and light, with a nice lemon blend, but quickly turned to a powdery mess on my skin.
-
I Empyreal Mist. It sums up it's name perfectly- I picture some tropical island with mist rising from a waterfall in the sunlight- that is what this smells like...just lovely. If only it lasted longer on my skin...but it's worth re applying.

I think this is the very weirdest BPAL I have smelled. On my it smelled very strongly of eucalyptus and a compost pile. Very strange...
-
This was the first BPAL oil I ever tried- I was surprised to see I had never reviewed it... Jack was almost all butter on me (my skin really amps butter notes) and made it so rich that I almost felt ill...but behind the butter I could smell a lovely pumpkin spice, so if you don't amp buttery scents you'll no doubt love Jack.

I had very high hopes for Bewitched, but unfortunately the berries took over (as they are sometimes known to do on my skin) and smelled really fake, like berry shower gel or something. I don't know why these berries hate me but the berries in MB:Closet are my good friends. I decided to try Bewitched in a scent locket (I have an imp on the way to me), since my skin chemistry destroyed it...we'll see what happens....
-
I really liked Dana O' Shea when I put it on, it's a light almond milk scent- I can see the oatmeal references too (in a good way). Unfortunately, my evil skin chemistry turned this to plastic after awhile... ....sigh...

I have really grown to love The Dormouse over the past few months. It's a great lemon tea scent with a touch of herbs. I predict this being a staple for me in the hot summer months. It lasts about an hour on me, but I put some in a rollerbottle that I can carry around and reapply as necessary.
-
I love Mock Turtle- it's fresh and minty, but it's a summer sort of mint rather than a winter mint... The only problem is that it lasted no longer than 15 minutes on my skin. It's very nice though, and quite unique.

Suggestions for scents based on the 4 elements

For Water I would say Danube For Air- Emperyal Mist Szepassony seems to be a bit of both- water and air -
hmmm... I've never tried pure poison, so I'm no real help there... Amber/Woody/Floral... the things that pop in my head are maybe Dublin, Golden Paiprus and Haunted. Also, the new Hymn to Prosperine might be good. I would maybe get her several imps rather than one bottle, since things work differently on different people. Good luck!

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

Ah Beaver Moon- how I love thee... GC scents like it? Short answer- no. The only GC scent to my knowledge that has cake in it is the new Eat Me, although it's not the red velvet and cream cheese frosting goodness that Beaver Moon is, but I'm excited to get it becasue Beth's "cake" blends rock. Monster Bait:Closet is a little similar, but lighter and with blackberries... I haven't gotten Underpants yet, but I think that might be similar to Beaver Moon too... You could try Bliss mixed with Bengal, those two together might have a Beaver Moon sort of feel... edited for a typo... -
I really like the spices in this, but there seems to be a note in this that I remember from Samhain that doesn't agree with me... Strange...

Wow- this is not what I expected... I know I have had an imp of Roadhouse in my posession before, but I must have swapped or given it away before I even tried it- because when I tried this today I LOVED it. I think the description/name was what turned me off from this before. I had no real desire to smell like a roadhouse, thank you very much... I guess this fits in the the old saying, "never judge an oil by it's label"- ha. Anyway, Roadhouse is beautifully springy on me. It starts very green and fresh on me, like your hands smelled after you made a dandelion necklace when you were little. That beautiful freshness develops a sweet note, which could be the beer (since I was looking at the description, although I wouldn't say "BEER!" when smelling it otherwise which is good because I'm really sensitive to smelling like booze)). Later it deepens and I get a hint of tobacco- not smoke, but the loose tobacco itself still mixed with a bit of greeness... I really like this. Oh Beth, you're amazing!

Oil recommendations for studying, learning, exams

I think Tushnamatay (my new love) would be great for studying. To me it is very calming and focusing. -
I really like MB: Closet! It really seems like Beaver Moon's younger fun sister. I was wary of Closet because I don't do well with boozy scents. Berries are another that are iffy on me, so I wanted to try an imp (provided by the wonderful Biggerkrissy) before I decided on an order. Well, thankfully, on me there was no booziness to be found. The berries were great too- they smell very real, with a hint of tartness. Unfortunately MBC doesn't last very long on my skin (few things do), but it was very nice in my scent locket. If you haven't gotten this- you must.

I had put off trying this for a long time because the description of grey flowers sounded kind of blah...But: Asphodel is wonderful! It is the perfect oil for spring- very fresh and "real" smelling with a hint of green. I think this is a new contender for my top ten.

Kitsune-Tsuki seems very happy and flirty to me...

Gourmand - Foody Scents - General Recommendations

I love Beaver Moon too! You should try Gingerbread Poppet, it'll probably be easier to find than BM. I don't know if you like lemon scents, but Enbalming Fluid smelled like lemon angel food cake on me, so you may like it too. The new GC update's Eat Me sounds also great- I ordered a 5ml from the description...now if only my order would come...sigh... -
Wow- I'm surprised how much I like this! It's a sweet light lemon scent that reminds me of a lemony angel food cake. I think I may need a bottle of this...
-
Oh, I see... Thanks!

I got my Peony Moon order last week (yay!) and was surprised to see the new 5mls that I got (Opium Poppy and Sundew) had new labels, a pretty green with art deco sort of writing. So I'm wondering, is this a look at things to come? Will new GC scents all have fancy new labels or is it just these two? I thought I had read something about the labels of the muses being different from the standard labels too... Any input?
