Finding BPAL blends similar to Dior perfumes....
RogueNyx replied to Cegirls's topic in Recommendations
I could have sworn I replied to this thread two years ago but I guess it was a sweet smelling dream. Sigh. Hypnotic Poison is the only non oil based perfume I actually love to wear anf I searched high and low...taking many opinions along the way...for a comparison bpal or any other brand oil. Stimulating Sassafrass is the closest I personally have found to being a dupe. Somebody else mentioned it as well and im surprised only one person had. Maybe the note listings throw off the Dion fan but it really is so close to dead on...even when it dries down. -
Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

If you like (or dislike) Dior Hypnotic Poison....I find Stimulating Sassafrass something or other ( hah sorry) to be spot on. It dries down a bit creamier but still so close! -
Based on the reviews alone I was planning on ordering a full size of O unsniffed. My order came yesterday and I got a frimp of O from the lab with it! I was so excited when I saw it that I almost cried. I thought for sure I would love this. In the imp I smell honey. just plain dry honey. Almost like a honey dust. I put it on and within one minute all I get is powder. Actually that's a lie. I smell a bit of dry honey dust....dusky is a good way to describe it. I let my husband smell this on me and he said it doeant smell like sex it smells like the babies room lol...which I guess is baby powder . I Agree with him as well...its a very baby powder scent on me with a faint aura of dry honey powder. Everybodiea body chemistry is different...but now all ai can associate this scent with is babies....not lust or sexuality or anything of the sort. I have another scent called Spellbound Woods from Solstice Scents ...and the drydown of that is identical to how O smells. This isn't for me and I'm sad..ill try the imp again after my pregnancy is over and see if it gets any better !

Was looking forward to this so much so I got a full size in my very first official order ! When I first opened the bottle I got a wonderful whiff of creamed coconut with a tiny hint of nuttyness. So beautiful !!! wet upon first application its still gorgeous creamed coconut with a hint of floral. I love this! I didn't keep it on long because I was about to shower to go out. The next day I excitedly applied it with the Intention of wearing it all day. It's all violets. There aren't even any violets in this blend and its all I smell right from the get go. It's a beautiful violet scent but where did the coconut and hazelnut and musk etc go from yesterday ? I am 7 monthes pregnant so I assume hormones may effect the way scent morphs on me....but from day to day? I still like it but I wish beth would make a creamed coconut blend without florals, resins or woods. I'll keep trying this blend after baby boy is born and hopefully the beautiful creamy coconut will return ! On another notex VIOLET lovers rejoice ! This us one of the nicest violets I've ever seen !

Curiouser and curiouser. Milk and honey with rose, carnation and bergamot. I first ordered Alice about a year ago while on my creamy gourmand kick. When I first opened it I was a bit disappointed that it seemed to smell spicy and floral but not in a good way. I researched and figured I would age it. Now ill be the first to admit I don't understand how aging works. I dont get how the scents change by just sitting in the bottle....BUT...a year or so later here I am wearing the once dreaded Alice ! On my skin its thick and powdery sweet with a kick....spicy is such a bizarre word to describe a flower but it fits carnations so well. I can't pick out the specific notes other then the carnations. I look for the honey and milk and don't find them alone but I so get a very creamy soft powdery carnations...which is not how carnations usually are. It's very gentle...innocent and feminine. It's not gourmand like I originally thought but its so creamy ! Very beautiful soft baby floral.

wet: out of the impits very sweet almond to me. that could be from the cherry though ( the infamous cherry/almond source since bitter almost is well.. poisonous...) its very sweet almond and foodie. On me: its all mahongany! upon first application was was rich and so juicy... Red and juicy... are the words i said to myself right away. i was in love. i actually updated my stash to say i wanted a full bottle. but now about 10 minutes later its all woods and mahongany. definately red woods. drydown: rich smooth mahogany with a very slight cherry undertone. reminds me of a Juicy Jays cherry blunt wrap. yes ive smelt that before but havent used it. lol
