    Saw-Scaled Viper

I'm not sure why I ordered this imp, because I'm really not too fond of either cassia OR cinnamon (On my skin) but hey... Here it is.. This smells surprisingly strongly of wood/peanuts on intitial application. Along with alot of cinnamon and cassia. I'm not getting any ginger at all (Unless that's this strange note that's woodsy) The Snake oil is behind but it's not as poweful as the other notes. The cinnamon/cassia fades after a while...and lets the vanilla of the snake oil through. Because the cinnamon side of things is so spicy it's drowning out any spice that Snake Oil usually has on me so...it's hard to tell if it's there. It's sweetening up quite a bit though. Thank gosh! Also...this oil is staining my wrist more with every application. Damn! I look like I've got Jaundice. Drier still...the snake oil is becoming more intense and the spicyness is really having to fight to beat it. I was hoping for this because in my opinion..Snake Oil is like syrup and nothing gets rid of it!!! But it's much more to my liking now that it's not a fiery cloud of spicyness. 3 people have walked through the office and made a comment today. All good comments which is good. Then all that happens with this blend as it dries further the balance just switches even more between cinnamon/cassia & Snake Oil with the snake oil eventually taking over almost completley. Just a faint whiff of spice left...

    Hellcat

This...like all other belds with almond in is a whoosh of almond straight away! This blend has a boozy rum to accompany it though. This stage doesn't last very long though, probably about 10 or so minutes. Then the foooooodyness comes out. It's very musky this blend and very sweet. I can definately smell the honey mead and the buttercream. It's not as nutty as I thought it was going to be. I really want to smell this next to my Storyville imp to see.... This is like a Sed Non Satiata gone way foody and...it's quite sickly and very brown sugary smelling. Yum yum yum. I won't be oredering a bottle but it's delicious. There are much better foodies out there than this.

    Bayou

POW! Strong is the first thing I'm gonna say. A little too strong for some people around me..oops! This is along the same lines as Sea Of Glass, it's very heavy on the floral at first and I don't get any greenery. I had high hopes for this one but it's taken over by the floral at first....then BANG! The aquatic is waaaaaaaay heavy. It's not a keeper for me, however, it there was more...moss, greeneery, swampness..possibly even a wood in here? It would have been much better. But my chemistry is amping the floral side and the aquatic doesn't smell good. *is sad*

    Cheshire Moon

I loves me some fruity scents so...I had to try Cheshire moon! It's yum yum to say the least. When it's first applied it's very tangy and fruity, then very quickly goes creamy and soft. It's very very edible smelling. It's the Guava I'm pretty sure that I'm getting from this along with some other fruityness and cream. mmmmm! I get no lemongrass from this at all which makes me happy because it usually sends blends squiffy on my skin but hurrah! This scent smells dainty and innocent and playful. The drier stages see it change more, this is where it turns more herbal and a little more tangy. It's still nice and it holds on to that soft edge the whole time. This oil is a very unusual Lunar Oil for me, it's along the lines of Hungry Ghost Moon, or... Xanthe The Weeping Clown. It's a soft fruity oil that turns sharper as it dries. LUBBLY JUBBLY!

    Eos

This is predominantly Jasmine on me for a long time. It smells like alot of other blends that have Jasmine in because Jasmine is quite powerful. The drier stage lets the honeysuckle through a bit but the Jasmine is always in the forefront. To me this is alot like other floral blends and doesn't stick out enough for me to love it.

    Red Phoenix

Most of the Phoenix oils to me seem rather special, they're quite different and interesting. Red Phoenix is the only one so far I've tried and thought...meh. If a blend has cassia in it, it usually drowns out all the other top notes and kinda ruins then blend. (For me anyway) so...this is all Cassia when it's wet, and that's pretty much it for the wet stage, I'm not getting anything else. When it's dry the cassia does eventually fade and there's a gentle red musk, and a tiny bit of fruit. There's not much else to say about this blend really.. Green Phoenix and Pink Phoenix kick this one's bum!

    Namaste

Namaste is not good for me. I'm discovering that Lemongrass just goes funny on me. I luuuurve the smell of it always, but on my skin...it just seems to go to a sloppy wet dirty smell...so...this is what I get from namaste and not much else apart from a tiny hint of Cedarwood. I think this would smell lovely on someone else...

    Bess

Zesty at first..with a slightly herbal edge to it. The Orange parts of this are dominant throughout. The rosemary is there, I can't really get rose or mint. The whole blend sweetens up a whole lot more on drydown and becomes less herbally, it's still quite dominated by Orange. It's quite a fresh smelling oil, with a slightly dark twist to the orange side. I like it, but it's not THAT special. Sorry Labbies.

    Voodoo Lily

This goes on quite citrussy to me, not floral as I was expecting. Then a massive whoosh of spice comes out of nowhere and the citrus fades (As usual), it's extremely spicy bit I still wouldn't say it's a lily or floral.... Then it teeters on the edge of going soapy but it doesn't thank god! It's got a hell of alot of throw this oil and is swirling around me in a big circumference. Slightly pungent. But when it calms...the spice settles more...the soapyness settles more and it has a gentle fizz to it that keeps it pleasant. I like it but it's not bottle worthy for me.

    The Illustrated Woman

This is very unusual on me, it smells familiar...but I don't know where from, there's something in here that's dominant in something else!! hmm! When it's wet the pine is there, and it's almost like it's a vinegary/acidic pine...not that pleasant. But when that dies away this is a very distinct smell and I could easily Pick this out in a crowd. The pine goes completely after a while thoug hand...this almost smells creamy. It's resinous, and creamy. But it's not a vanillary cream. Damn!!! It's hard to describe. AH HAH!!!! I've got what this reminds me of!!!!! It's the drier stages of Crawdad Dream, it's the same honey in both that I can get really strongly!! Wow...thank god for that, it was starting to drive me mad. So now that I know I can get the Honey, and the resins. It's a much more beautiful perfume now, but still a bit weird for me. It's a sophisticated perfume I would say. Overall it smells like honey (But it's a strange honey), resins..and it's got a sweet creamy edge. Very hard to describe.

    Vinland

Whoa! there's a whole lot going on in this tiny vial. Mainly I'm getting berries (LoganBerry) but there's also whole lot of floral that's verging on headache inducing. It's hella strong though and quite intrusive. I think it's turning into a soapy mess on my skin... I would like to have been able to pick out more individual notes on this but it's just very very strong and I smell like I've been shoved through a glass counter full of a million bottles of commercial perfume. eek!

    Tristran

Oh my gosh this is gorgeous!!! I'm not a fan of the lab's masculine scents usually and don't wear them often. This has changed my mind though. It's the most sexy wood ever!!! Me wants bottle pwease! The mint is there but it's so very faint. It still adds to the overall blend though. This is a spicy, sexual woodsy herb smell. I can imagine this being the male equivalent of one of those womens perfumes that makes you turn your head! This will have women swooning. Sex sex sex. Me loveeeeees it!!

    Lick It One More Time

This oil almost does exactly what it says on the tin! It's peppermint at first...yup...straight up peppermint, it's actually cold on the skin like peppermint shampoo or shower gel. My neck feels icy! This would be good in the summer. There's no vanilla for me at all, in any stage from wet to dry which is a dissapointment, vanilla usually amps loads on my skin.. Then..it turns weird. On dry down it smells like mint & dusty cupboard...so weird and not that pleasant. The dusty cupboard stage stays for a little while, this doesn not remind me of the holiday season. It fades pretty fast and doesn't have much throw at all on me. The only time I can detect sugar is when the oil is just noticable on my skin. I can get a tiny tiny whiff of burnt sugar, kind of like Sugar Skull..but much much more faint. This oil is a diasspointment really, I was hoping for much more vanillary yumness, instead I got dusty mint.

    Wolf's Heart

This is an initial burst of Dragon's Blood Resin at first, with a kind of burnt caramel smell. This is only for a little while. The burny bit goes away after a minute or two. The Dragon's blood stays and my guess is that there's Carnation in here because it's spicy and also...I can smell grapes quite strongly. This is like the Burgundy Wine Grape that's in Blood Phoenix. The dragon's blood fades further still as it dries and the oil loses all it's punch! It's now a grape scent with a tiny bit of spice behind. I like it but...hmm. Not as special as some other blends in this category. This one fades fast for something with such a powerful concept.

    The Scales of Deprivation

I think there is something wrong with my imp.. To me when I put a tiny bit on it smells ok, a slightly fresh, slightly citrussy smell with some herbs. I can also detect the resinous side of this oil. But then....I can just smell a whole lot of vinegar and it's making me turn my nose up. It becomes pungent quite quickly and smells like acid. I don't know it this is body chemistry or an over aged imp. But I wouldn't say this is one of my favourite blends. I'd like to try this fresh from the lab to get the real feel!!

    Jacob's Ladder

I'm reviewing the 06' version. This smells sweet, slightly powdery and resinous. There is a slightly fruity edge when it's wet, but then it just goes very churchy on me. And I don't mean incensey, I just mean..resiny. There's quite alot of throw to this and it's not like "The Lion" to me, it's much sharper and more perfumey. The lion was more..rounded and spicy. I'm really finding this hard to describe....
  17. I'ma put my two pennies worth in to say that Candy Phoneix = Rock Star soap!!! It's not similar to Mmm marshmallow moment to my nose, MMM seems to be more fluffy...Rock Star more fruity. But Rock Star..almost identical to me. YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! It's effing brilliant!!!

    Defututa

YAY!!! An instant love! I love it when this happens. I wasn't sure of this because of the Jasmine but...it behaves very well. This smells absolutely gorgeous on me and I'm loving it as much as it loves me in return. On me this a beatifully soft smoky musky vanilla, the musky side of it is reminiscent of the dry stages of another one of my BPAL OMG loves, Sed Non Satiata. It's cosy and fluffy and so so soft. The Jasmine is there but it's subtle, the Champaca flower is too but again..it's subtle. This reminds me of Regan too. The way Regan went so soft on my skin. This is doing the same. The vanilla does die down a bit when it's really really dry but it's still so so musky, and the champaca flower is overtaking the jasmine. (yay). Gosh it's so so nice I love it!! Going on my bottle list. ETA: Cinnamon? never would have guessed in a million years there was cinnamon in here. Also..now that I've re applied a few times, the wet stage of this has a very strong similarity to Khajurao which is in my top 5 LE's. No wonder I'm loving this stuff so much!

    All Night Long

As if the name didn’t spell it out for you. This blend relieves all sexual inhibitions by simultaneously relaxing and arousing. My initial thoughts on this are...this smells like curry, cinnamon/cassia, cola and wood. So I'm gonna hazard a guess and say there's cardamom in here somewhere and a very sharp cinnamon. The cardamom and cola notes die down quickly and the cinnamon/cassia and wood become much more prominent, the wood in this is very very strong. As it dries further still...I swear some sort of orangey jnote comes through. But it's gentle...like orange blossom or something. But the wood and cinnamon are still holding on. The wood fades out next and what's left is mainly just the cinnamon, but it's less fiery now. It's more sweet. Interesting blend, and as far as the "All Night Long" part of it goes...I never tried hehe!

    White Phoenix

This is a beautiful, sweet white floral. It's one of those rare florals that hardly even smells like a floral to my nose. It definately smells like alot of things all at once...but it's hard to describe. I would say that I can smell magnolia...but it's wrapped in sugar and has a fresh tang behind it. So..even though it's floral it's..disguised. This is indeed very very beautiful, it's sophisticated and I thought this was going to be a bucket of white petals dumped on my head. Instead it's sweet and kind ethereal, and I think layered with White Moon this could become even more lovely! It doesn't last that long on me unfortunately, and it's not the nicest of the phoenix's (Pink, Green & Candy = ) but still gorgeous!! The dry stage is just as pretty as the wet stage, it loses a bit of sweetness but remains a white, light floral that I would put in the same family as The Unicorn.

    New Orleans

Oh dear This smells like plasticine and insect repellent..yuk. I can tolerate Jasmine it sweeter blends but to me this is really really not nice at all. This will a be in the swaps pile soon. It's not working on me in the slightest! Shame.

    The Perilous Parlor

This is the nicest of the Haunted House scents I've tried. Vanilla? yum...pear??? YUM! Together? YUMMMMMMMMM! It's very bright, the pear makes it sparkle and the vanilla gives a slight foody edge. It's really a pleasure to smell. *sniffs wrist*. It's weird that the vanilla behaves itself because it usually doesn't and I never want it to!! But this stays in it's place and the pear and vanilla go hand in hand until drydown. The onjly thing I would say is that the Pear becomes less soft and sparkly and a bit more tart as it dries... I Like lots!

    The Jersey Devil

WOW! Finally a pine scent that I adore. This one has turned me around in thinking that I will never really order anything with pine in. This scent is everything I wanted Bewitched to be when it failed so miserably on me. Wet, this has deffo got a foresty vibe to it, it's pine but not scary floor cleaner pine, it's more real and there's a fruity berry there too, it smells more balckberry than cranberry though, and a slight woodsy note. Too much wood scares me too, but this? This is the perfect balance on me. Foresty berries = Now when it's drying it changes a whole lot... the pine fades slightly, and it's got so much more of a sharp tart berry bite. It's the cranberry. Then comes this smell that I adore. It sounds yuk but is lovely to my nose. It's kind of like a plasticy sweet smell. The same kind of thing as Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo or Bordello. Yum yum! It's this with a slight hint of pine and the tang of cranberry. This scent is awesome!

    Gomorrah

This is an extremely meh scent on me. It's very faint and I've used nearly half an imp to get any joy out of it. It smells very generic to me, I had higher hopes. I can't smell fig or date. It just smells like a few other imps I've had that have been aged a bit too long. I think it's probably a bit too old for me to give it a good review. There is s herby quality to it and t smells kind of golden if that makes sense. But..other than that this is really not floating my boat. Maybe I got the weird batch that Themerrybaker got too! Strange scent that doesn't fit the description..

    Hungry Ghost Moon 2006

This is so fun and gorgeous!!! It's a massive bundle of fruity musk, kind of like Croquet and Xanthe mixed together. It's a very fun smell. I think I can get grapefruit mostly but there's a slight hint of wood behind and a whole lot of other stuff too. The ginger is there making it light on my skin. It's just very BRIGHT!! I LOVE it!!!! The dry stage waves goodbye to the parade of lights and fruit that passed by in the wet stage and the wood makes itself known so much more. Also the herbs..it's almost a completley different blend now. This is still gorgeous...and it's much greener. I'm still waiting for the vanilla, it's very unusual that vanilla is hiding! Nope..no vanilla, just gets much more woodsy and herby. LOVE!!! I wish this wasn't so rare...I also wish my friend hadn't spilled half my precious imp over my bed! ARRRRGH!!
