This is a thick perfume that's quite floral (The Orchid) and slightly fruity. It's the pear..I think. This is a darker version of Lune Noir, that has the same pear vibe but it's more pretty than Black Moon. But it still isn't THAT dark if I'm honest. It's quite perfumey and reminds me slightly of "Poison" eau de toilette sometimes when it waft, even my SO said..."I've swear I've smelled that before somewhere" This is all in the wet stages. I thought it would smell completley different, cucumber?? no siree! Crystal musk I was extremely excited about but have no idea what I'm looking for so..couldn't say whether it's here on not, the blend does have a slightly musky edge though...now I'm really dying to smell crystal musk on it's own. It calms down a bit as it dries and goes much sweeter and still holds onto the floal element. There is still no sign of cucumber. This is a very feminine blend, and would be nice as an evening scent. It's a pretty blend but not what I had expected.

Hmmm! I don't think I'm smelling the same scent as everybody else or my nose is broken. This scent is so meh to me, and not very special at all. It goes from slightly almondy at first with a bit of fruit behind it. Then changes into a quite uninteresting musk on my skin then dissapears.

This is another one of those famous BPAL blends that everyone talks about and I can see why! As a vanilla lover I was sure I was going to like this and now I've tried it, I can safely say this is an incredibly beautiful perfume. It's a very musky sweet vanilla, with a background of linen/clean laundry. Simple and gorgeous. It doesn't need anything else to make it special. It has a hell of alot of throw on me and I absolutely adore it. I'm getting a bottle asap. It kind of reminds me of marshmallow slightly. That's how sweet and fluffy it is. Kind of like those sweet dollheads I smelled as a child, but not so plasticy. Yum yum yum! This oil deserves all the credit it gets! :D

Firstly, Thank you to AutumnBriars for allowing me to smell this, I've wanted to smell all the Haunted House collection but just haven't gotten around to it!! When it's wet this is gorgeous, this oil is nothing like I expected, AND it's nicer than I expected in the different way than I expected haha. The wet stage smells like greenery, I can smell the moss and a very very sweet wood. It's sweet and green adn beautiful. I was expecting a dark burtn wood but there's none of that here. This is pretty rather than Halloweenie. While the wet stage was yumsville, the dry stage is different, it turns much more floral and sweet and is not so much my cup of tea. My flatmate said those dreaded words "Granny perfume". Eeek! I have no idea what this is but it's more perfumey. As it's drying a very soft side comes out and then it goes a bit more sharp on my skin. I wish the wet stage would stay a bit longer. It takes about 5 minutes to turn into this different scent. The throw is very good though, I wouls say it's about medium.

This is not what I had expected from reading a few of the reviews, Creamy?? Not my imp. This is tart, tangy and sharp, and sexy at the same time. This is the scent of a woman in a slinky red dress. It's definately a red scent. It's more fruity on me than floral but there's is defiantely a floral element there, Magnolia?? The wet stage is as I said before, I'm just gonna give it my lunchbreak to review the dry stage. *saunters off to eat noodles* . . . . . *saunters back* Ok funnily enough, this does not morph on me. The tartness with the floral stays at the same balance the whole time. It just becomes fainter. So..I would say ovrall, it's not a scent that I'll buy more of. But it's nice to wear a poweful sexy rouge scent today!

I was so excited about this blend, All the notes sounded fantastic, apart from me not knowing what Squash Blossom was! At first it's a blast of Berries, Ginger & Green Tea...yum! It's very fresh and fruity and fun. I'm not sure how I feel about the drydown though, I don't get any vanilla from this..and there's something very unusual about it, is this the squah blossom? I understand it's edible... The scent becomes more rounded as it dries and loses the lovely zingyness it had at the start, in fact it's completely different. It's now much more floral and much stronger in throw. It's very hard to describe for sure, I think that it smells very slightly of some sort of honey. I'm gonna need to give this one more time.... -
Oh my this is.... I got this in a swap and didn't think I'd like it as much as I do. I like a few of the ingredients...but wowzers. Beeeeyoootiful!! It's a very young scent, it smells slightly of fruit and slightly floral, I thought I'd get much more vanilla & Champaca flower (One of my favourite notes). This is one of those blends that's blended so well it's hard to pick things out..but the orchid is there quite prominently and the vanilla gives it a lovely roundness and softness, this is a creamy creamy scent. Drying down a bit further it gets softer and so much more feminine, not much of a change, it's still stunning! This could go into my top 10 LE's for sure. It smells like shampoo or something.. I've not smelled anything similar to it before. I don't really know what else to say really, it's one of those one's your going to have to smell to appreciate the beauty, it really is very lovely. If you like youthful, fresh and girly scents, try and get at least a decant!! 10 out of 10 Beth!!

This is absolutely gorgeous!! It's been a while since I've smelled a blend that's been a "Put it on the bottle list" blend, so I'm happy! This is defiantely vanilla, it's a foody vanilla on me though at first, kinda like a golden vanilla cake with some amber there too. I love it!!! I really wanna slather this one. It turns much more musky and vanillary as it dries and the amber comes out a bit more. I can't smell any kind of Sea Moss, floral and the like. It's just quite a simple blend that is swoonworthy. This is gonna be a 5ml for sure. Where has it been all my life???

Red musk, black currant, violet leaf, wild frankincense, lavender, black orchid, Darjeeling tea, vetiver, red moss, myrrh, Moroccan spices, blackened fruit gums, and tobacco. Wowzers this one is interesting....!!! The wet stage on me is horrible, it smells kind of like a very animaisitc vetiver with lots of musk and wood. I thought...oh no this is nothing like I expected at all. It's got a bit of a eucalyptas vibe to it too which is a BIG no no for me. However... The drydown stage of this is where the magic happens...this is soooo nice, it's like a blackberry gummy jelly sweet. And I had a compliment on it too. A friend hugged me and said..you smell YUMMY!!! I really really like the dry down stage of this and wish it would stay like that. The dry stage is different again, a true morpher, it's much more sharp. It smells more like a floral now and there's not as much musk as before, it's still got the slight tinge of the fruity gorgeousness that was in the dry down. But..now it's not as interesting. It turns more "Perfumey". This is one of those oils I really really want to smell on someone else so I can get the full effect. Not a bottle for me but still a really interesting oil to go from something so yuk into something so beautiful.

This is a whole lotta things on me at once. The Cassia is most prominent, that spicy cinnamon smell, there's a definate wood there too, with a slight fruity background. I'm a Red Musk lover but it doesn't seem to be as strong as it usually is. The oil is not as dark as other red musk blends I've seen so, maybe it's just got less in it or something, I don't know. It smells like Fireball Jawbreakers to me, the cassia is not letting anything else through. A slightly unusual blend, I just wish the Cassia would BACK OFF a bit so I could enjoy the other notes. Ok..so..sorry Cassia for shouting at you, obviously you're a good listener. It does back off after about 10 minutes and the blend sweetens slightly, I'm taking this to be the sugar cane forcing the cassia back. Hmm....not much fruit going on here, I wish the MAngo would come out and the Lemon peel. Cirtus usually dissapears on me anyway so..it was probably there in the beginning but Miss Cassia beat it down!! It's now a slightly sweetened cassia, no fruit...no wood...no musk. It's interesting but I wouldn't get a bottle.

This smells like Blackberries on me when it's wet. Like.. resinous blackberries, or some sort of dark fruit. It's really quite nice in the wet stage. But....true to BPAL history...the morph happens on drydown and this becomes more green, earthy and sort of woody. It's almost like there's pine in here somewhere even though it's not listed as an ingredient. It doesn't really change much after this, I would say that there's not much throw to this oil. Onlt the intital burst of when it's first applied. Not really a stand out scent for me though...

This pretty much is just Apple Cider, I can smell cinnamon a hell of a lot. NO smoke or wood whatsoever until it's nearly gone, then I get a very light wood. This is lovely but it really just does smell like a thousand chriatmas candles I've smelled before. I will be keeping the bottle though as I don't have anything similar and it will be nice for the autumn. The label art on this bottle is gorgeous!!

I'm another person who stays well way from Ozone/Aquatic scents. Selkie is the only one I've found that I've liked so far and Storm moon was just horrible on me. Still...you learn with BPAL never to judge too quickly coz ya just...never...know! Anyway, I'm gonna call this perfume the transexual scent..only because it morphs from a somewhat masculine blend when it's wet into a more feminine scent. Which I find interesting. Yes...there is ozone here when it's wet, but it's not the scary ozone I was expecting at all, it's much softer, slightly zesty and has some flowers behind it. It does smell like a fresh men's aftershave but better. I hate those generic MAN smells. This is a more complex man smell even though it's verging on the change to feminine while drying. The dry stage is really nice too, it's soft..slightly powdery and definitely more feminine, this is now a floral not an ozone smell and I think I can detect the grassy note slightly. I get absolutely no wood from this at all in any of the stages from wet to dry.. It's on the nicer side of the ozones I've tried, but I wouldn't get a bottle of this, Selkie still kicks ass over this for me.

Hmmm this is not me at all, I'm not too fond of almond blends but thankfully it always dissapears within seconds. This is very simple on me, it goes from a whoosh of Almond to a very quick change into rose rose rose with a slight hint of orange peel. It's very light and makes me feel a bit nauseous for some reason. Off to swaps!

What I get from this is buttery pumpkin with a slight floral tanginess if that makes sense! With all pumpkin blends though the pumpkin dies down quite quick and this turns even more yummy! It changes to a tart Strawberry/Cranberry with the red musk making things a whole lot more incensey. I would describe this as a dark dark Strawberry, a sexy sultry red fruit draped in black velvet!! It's cool!!! It's along the same lines as "The Haunted Palace" on me, they are similar in the dry stages. I adore Red Musk, and Strawberry so there was no way I could resist this one! The florals in this I can't really get, it's more about the fruit... MMMMM!

Orange-glazed cake, dotted with anise seed, and filled with custard, set beside a bouquet of celebratory funeral flowers. Hmm! The initial burst of this reminds me of Diary of a lovestruck teenage cannibal. But much less spicy and much more creamy. It's definately lickable..or edible whichever. There is anise present but it's only very slight. I am glad it's not taking over the blend. This smells like vaniallary custard with a slight aniseed edge. when it's wet. It spices up a bit more on drydown, and the aniseed is coming foward slighty, still...not too heavy though and the creamyness is going. It's still vanillary though. There's an almost buttery note here too. I'm thinking ...where are the flowers???? As it dries more..the creaminess is gone practiacally and the Anise & vanilla/custard are still there. I think this is where the florals start to appear but heck if I know how many and what they are. They are not the most prominent thing in the blend. This is interesting and I'm definately keeping my bottle! ETA: When this is REALLY dry, it reminds me of sunscreen. It's got a coconutty vibe to it. (Weird I know)

The wax is most prominent when you sniff from the bottle (Is how I'll start my review, I never do that ) Also..I absolutely adore the label art for this bottle it's stunning! Ichabod Crane on a blue moonlight blackground, his pale face illuminated by the dripping candle he's holding! As a few have said, when this is wet on the skin this definately has an underlying tone of the milk note that's in milk moon. It's almost sour, the wax is definately prominent...this is quite an unusual blend. This strange mix is the base of the scent, over the top is a very very strong floral. I'm taking this to be the Muguet. If I close my eyes and sniff deeply I would say there's an almost minty like quality Ichabod Crane in the wet stage. Once this warms up on the skin it gets a whole lot stronger, the sour cream/waxy note is behind and the Muguet is really really potent. It coems together to be a creamy floral with a tang!!! I don't get any tea...and I'm not really sure what wool would smell like. I think I like it, I think I'll keep the bottle. (The artwork is tipping my descision)

The wet stage of this makes my nose crinkle, I'm not too fond of cocoa in perfume and that's what jumps out straight away, it's there though...and then it's gone. Then it's a very musky almost nutty blend, that reminds me of Sed Non Satiata I can also detect a slightly boozy note too, but I have no idea what that is. This is a kinda freakshow of a blend because it after this phase has passed it changes again completely... It changes to a much more perfumey blend, Bergamot is noticable. No vanilla which is a shocker for me as that is the note my skin chemistry amps the most. This is now a more slightly fruity/perfumey blend, that's not very special in my eyes. I'm so thankful I got this a s a frimp from a wonderful forumite because I know how difficult the Carnaval Noir blends are to obtain. It is however, not a stand out scent.

When I smelled this before reading the description I thought it smelled like orangey wood. It's sexy and slightly unusual. The orange blossom in this is very sweet, it's almost like a fake plasticy orange that's mixed with wood. This changes on drydown and this becomes much more sultry and musky. The red patchouli is way prominent and the orange blossom fades out alot. This is more like a woodsy/incsence/patchouli blend now. It's got quite alot of lasting power too. I put it on this morning and it's still going really strong after lunch. I like it, but it's not one I'd buy a bottle of I don't think.

This review will probably be one of my shortest. This smells like someone just dumped a ton of flowers on my head! Reminds me a tiny bit of "Follow Me Boy"...it's just way way floral.....and a tiny bit fresh.
-
Like most peolpe, I'm sitting here sniffing thinking...hmm...where is the wine? It's not there at all. I don't mind that really though. Not too much of a fan of boozy notes. This to me is and very green aquatic smell. The palm and ferns are deffo the main players with an ozoney/aquatic undertone. The greeness (how do you spell that word? hehe) is very realistic and it makes me think of swaying palms and lush greenery tinged by sea air.. It's not a blow me away scent though, it's pleasant enough though and I'm glad I got to try it.

This is fruity and musky for a split second then it's floral and musky! It's a very strong musk in here, with some flowers I'm gonna say maybe theres some Ylang Ylang in here, because this reminds me ever so slightly of Skuld. EXCEPT..The whole thing feels like it's been dusted with a very light caramel or Brown Sugar. It has a foody edge that is not too much but noticable nonetheless.. The musk in this is gorgeous, it's very heavy. It might be..african or indian musk. mmm. Have you smelled Sed Non Satiata? It THIS kind of musky sexiness that The Living Flame is all about. I'm not getting anything flamey, or..red at all. This is more of a brown, sensual...scent. More like a temptress dancing in flames... It's yum though, and really really comes to life once it's warmed up on the skin. Deffo a sexy sexy scent. If you like heavy musks then...this is for you.

A men's blend? hmm. I'm not feeling that at all. This is lovely though... It smells at first like a lemony/vanillary tea..this is when first applied.. Vanilla amps on me like crazy so I'm waiting to see what's gonna happen from here on in. The wet stage is yummy, it changes into a much more muskier vanilla tea with a slight hint of something citrussy. The vanilla in this is the vanilla that's in Antique Lace, it's incredibly sweet, almost sugary... The faint citrus dies down after this and oh my gosh...the vanilla has not taken over the blend entirely for probably the the first time I think.. This is quite a sophisticated, soft blend. It feels secret to me, and when I say secret I mean..like..nobody would know I'm wearing it but me. I don't know why it makes me feel like that but it does...! Kind of like this scent would become me...part of me. (It's not often blends evoke a proper physical emotion in me but when it happens?? wowzers!) This ends up being a very sexy musy vanilla that's very soft and subtle enough to be my own secret! Edited because I'm a typo spaz today!

I smell like Pine, Wood and tree sap. Someone mentioned this smells like paper and I totally agree. I smells firstly of pine and wood. Then when the pine fades it goes to a dusty wood, and defiantely smells similar to tree sap too! Berries??? There are berries in the description.. Berries my bum! (Scuse my French). I cannot detect berries in the slightest and I was really hoping for them because I luuuurve them!! They would have added a really nice element to this, maybe I might try and layer this with something berryish, but I'm not one for layering... It fades quite fast to be honest and only has a little amount of throw.. Overall it's a dusty, foresty sap kind of smell with a slight sweet edge that is NOT berries.
