You might try rolling the bottle between your palms--some folks have said they've had good results doing this.

Got my Spooky today! Yeah! I love getting an order! This one really changes on me...Thin Mints, then plastic, then coconut & something vanilla-y. The plastic stage is pretty tough, but it's really nice when I get through it. Sadly, it has no staying power on me. I might make some lotion with it & see if lasts any longer.

Light, gentle, subtle scents for the office, class, expectant moms

I associate Alice & Dragon's Milk with newborns. Dorian would be good too. My husband puts up more of a fuss than either of my daughters-- -
The Musk Thread! Need to know what type is for you?
babykitty replied to SKiser's topic in Recommendations
I don't do musks well, but I ADORE Dorian!!! I had forgotten the 3 musks in it when I purchased it & I was convinced I would need to swap it away. But it's really really nice! Queen Mab is nice. -
Dorian is everything I wished White Rabbit was. I wonder if I can get my hubby to try some on...

B-Pal? Or B-Paul? I don't know why but I think "B-Pal", but end up saying "B-Paul"...The sad thing is my husband "corrects" me!!! (I usually just shove him & tell him to leave me alone!)

I have yet to solicit anything that might be construed as amorous. Is it me or him??? -
Wow! My sinuses are further out of whack than I thought! Cold Moon smells familiar...berry like...with some flowers. On my skin--ah--there's the sharp tang--the "cold" of Cold Moon. Dry down--less sharp, much more floral than berry. Pretty, pretty! ETA: This is exactly what I expected Snow White to smell like!

Recs for those who can't do sweet perfumes?

My husband says that Dragon's Milk smells like baby powder. I like to put a touch of it on the tops of my girls' heads (they are babies)--might be too feminine for his tastes. Hmm...Velvet might be good for him. I'm trying to think of some non-sexy scents...no reason to make him grow up too fast... Hemlock--piney Whitechapel--clean Scarecrow Dragon's Bone Jack Golden Priapus Severin (although you might not want to explain that one!) Bayou Machu Picchu -
Skadi is beautiful! Evergreen then berries, but not summer sweet juicy overripe berries. Kind of King of Spades berry. The evergreen is still there after the dry down. I just wished it lasted a bit longer. It's a more wearable fragrance than Mistletoe. The more I rub my nose on my wrist the more it reminds me of KoS. I'm very, very pleased.

Mistletoe--Hemlock & Dublin Frost Moon--Shattered -
Okay. I'm wondering why I bought 2 of these...don't get me wrong, I like it, that I do. I just cannot possibly use 2 bottles of it since it makes me SO hungry! It smells just like Russell Stovers (sp?) Roman Nougat Chocolate. (Which btw, is usually the last chocolates in the box at our house). Dang. I'm hungry now.

Wow. This is an incredible scent. I am amazed by it's staying power--how true it stays on me. It's just like sticking my nose in a big ol' cabbage rose on a summer morning. It is very strong to me, pretty lemony, kind of boozy. It's almost sharp while wet. I love it when it dries. It wafts on me. I can just picture the scent just wafting off me like a pink velvet fog.

Jingle bells! Jingle bells! Jingle all the way! Mmm! This smells exactly like my Christmas tree (which is a douglas fir)--I mean it smells JUST LIKE it. I've actually sniffed myself to figure out if I had picked up Mistletoe by mistake...turns out it was just our tree! I really like this scent. Crisp, yet cozy. I do enjoy wearing this even though it makes my nose run a little.

Baby wipes. Of course I buy them by the case & always have some handy.

I like Hemlock. I think it bothers some folks--makes them sneezy. But that's what I wore before my yule LE's arrived--nice & coniferous!

Why do all BPAL scents smell the same to me??
babykitty replied to kadmia's topic in Recommendations
Try using them differently--a little on a cotton ball & tuck it in your bra. Get one of those light bulb scent rings ($2 Michaels). Mix with a little water & spritz in your room or on your sheets. Add some to lotion. You'll be surprised how different some fragrances bloom. -
Now that it's been discontinued...I must admit I didn't care for this one. In fact, I was quite shocked when I first used it--I never came across a BPAL that wasn't unique, but "Mel" smelled so...so...so commercial. It's not offensive, but just meh.

Recs for those who can't do sweet perfumes?

Another vote for Aizen-Myoo! Machu Picchu is interesting--fruity but not at all sweet. Also, I love King of Spades. March Hare is kind of sweet but delicious, especially layered with 3 witches. I need a BPAL fix now!!! -
Lily of the Valley, Calla Lily, stephanotis and a drop of cherry. I don't review often, but I just HAD to add that I adore this fragrance! I definately smell the florals, but not cherry. If I do, it's a fresh cherry fragrance, not marachino or black cherry or blossom. If BPAL were fabric, QoH would be bright red velvet.

BPAL for headaches, pain, colds, seizures, sickness, illnesses...

I would pick a fragrance that relaxes you & wear it or scent your room. If nothing else, it would help you release any muscle tension. I like Olba's oil for sore muscle pain. It's really strong & used for a multiple of things including nasal congestion. You could have someone rub it in or rub it in yourself & place a hot damp towel on your neck. Let me know if you can't find it. I'll send you some. -
Hmm...skunk fragrance? anything with neroli in it! Ha! Maybe you could go to the mall & visit the perfume counters--a spritz of this & that. Then you could go as Pepe Le Pue
