Sexy, Smutty, Seductive, Provocative... It's All in Here
Summerpixy replied to ipb's topic in Recommendations
The last scent my bf loved on me was Mata Hari, but his all-time favorite is Water of Notre Dame, I guess he likes me to smell clean. Hm.. need to buy a 5ml of that one. On myself.. I think that Dragon's Heart and Formula 54 are both dead sexy! -
Hymn was a freebie from the lab in my last order. Wet at first it seems all resin, then as it dries the rose and lily rise to the top. A very heavenly blend. I can see myself wearing this on days when I need something classically lovely. This quiets my busy soul, with the school year beginning it'll be really nice to have a scent to escape to when I need some calm. I can see myself using up this imp completely. edited to add title of oil.

Roses and sandalwood..or is it rosewood? It's gorgeous and sophisticated. I'm growing fast in love with this frangrance. It is very formal, and very beautiful. The blending of the scents is just perfect. This might go on the big bottle list.. I need a few more trys to be certain, but I love this rose blend.

La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente... In the bottle this seemed sweet and slightly fruity. On my skin the scent warmed and at first the fruit was on top, then an hour later all I could smell was the sweet sugared rose which the peach seems to be softening. I love this. It's feminine without compromising its strength. This goes on my list for a 5ml.

Queen Mab was the first out of the huge imp order for me to try on my skin. In the bottle: soft dark floral. Wet: Floral but the fruit note is coming in strong. Drydown: The chinese musk seems to be revealing itself, yum. This is lovely! not sure if I'll buy a big bottle, but I'll certainly enjoy the imp to it's last drop. Suddenly I feel like wearing my slinky lingere... somehow this scent seems to fit lace perfectly.

I've never finished a 5ml. The one I've had for the longest would be the 5ml of June Gloom and that's still above 80% fullness. I use oils sparingly so my imps last forever too. I just now finished off my first imp. (then again I'm pretty much in heavy rotation all the time, so I rarely wear the same scent twice in a week.)

In the bottle: Light, alluring sweetness. On my skin: overwhelming sweetness, all honey and no musk. Throughout the duration of this scent it was a sweetness that clung to my skin and never really changed into the "Oh my god" type of scent I was expecting. It's almost flat to me, I may not keep this, maybe I'll give it away to a friend or relative.

I haven't worn anything this grounded and complex in awhile. At first I seemed to be swathed in a musty cloud, which eventually turned lush and green, yet still maintaining a hint of that smoke. It's not my kind of scent, but it's definetly a very nice one

Anything red with a bright splash of blue in it. If you'll look at all the red scenes there's usually one piece of blue in it if not more. No recommendations as I haven't really tried anything myself that fits that desc. but maybe it'll help others.

Sweet scents, sugar notes & things that smell like candy
Summerpixy replied to voila's topic in Recommendations
On my skin Kitsune-Tsuki is incredibly sweet, almost sickeningly so. But if you want a sweet-plum, that's it. -
For a light scent, Water of Notre Dame so far has had the longest life on my skin (a full work-day and a couple hours longer). I'd give it a shot.

When I smell it in the bottle I think- this is a men's scent. Mainly due perhaps to the juniper. But I'm not overpowered by it when I wear it, which is very nice. I won't be wearing it often, but it is certianly a nice option.

The Best Scents for Home, a Room, the Car...
Summerpixy replied to amberbella's topic in Recommendations
I have a oil-water burner that uses a small votive candle for heat. I'm wondering what would be some good room scents to use with it. thanks! -
First impression when applied: There is definate white musk in this. 5 minutes after applying I walk into another room to get some food and my mom immediately tells me that I smell good, and asks what I'm wearing. After a half-hour: The orange flower is coming out more noticably, and boy does it waft, a little dab'l do ya here. I can't seem to stop smelling it on myself at the keyboard. It's a great smell, but I've got to remember not to apply before dinner, otherwise I'll loose the flavor of what I'm eating because I'm being overtaken by Katharina. Other than that... wow, just a fantastic fragrance. Sweet but not sickengly so. The musk balances out the fruit-flower very nicely. I definetly won't be wearing this all the time, but it's got it's own place in my collection already. Now that I've tried Depraved... I love this one so much more! It's a light sweet apricot, and beautiful at that.

I put this on before I slept and the sweetness lulled me into a deep and dreamless sleep. I awoke more refreshed than I have in the past few weeks. Hopefully this is a good sign toward more much-needed renewal. A sweet blend, slightly spicy in the bottle but on the skin it changes into that green sweetness all the other posters are describing. A very good blend!

I love, love, love this. It is soo soft, and yet very long lasting, my boyfriend could smell it on me long hours after I applied it, and he said I smelled good This is definetly going to be my next 5 ml bottle. Without question, both myself and my boyfriend love it. Soft, clean, green but not green, very soothing. I highly recommend it!

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?

Come to Me really, try it. -
sweet sweet pollen, apple nectar, sweet but not overwhelming, never nauseating. I love it. It's like a memory of your favorite sugar candy as a child, irresistable and comforting. Definetly a keeper.

The next blue moon isn't until 2007... wow.. I'm going to need to order a 5 ml of Blue Moon and Harvest moon just to feel happy. I can't wait for descriptions!

Best BPALs for SUMMER - is it hot, sweltering, sticky outside?
Summerpixy replied to Donnababe's topic in Recommendations
I'll suggest Old Shanghai for the crispness. -
Ever since reading the Kushiel series there's just a part of me that is ravenous to smell like fresh ripening apples. I'd marry into the that line just to have a husband that smelled that way all the time Delicous. Ah.. well if one of the scents comes up a winner, I'll be checking back here

In the bottle: thought I'd hate it, put it off trying it over and over again, kept thinking ew every time I opened it. Wet: Thick pine, uh oh... I smell like IcyHot's piney brother. Dry: Softened up I ended up keeping this one to study with as the very strong pine and herb scent cleared my head marvelously and helps me to keep my focus. Also.. it ages nicely, at first it was very sharp, now (almost a good year later, with light sun exposure) it's mellowed out (even when a lot is applied)... I may pass this mellow imp off to my bf, who likes 'old spice' type scents.

Beautiful, very lemony... but unfortuantely on my skin it fades to nothing within a few hours. Oh well, it's fantastic when applied though. I'll keep it in spite of the fast fade out.

Way too masculine for me... my dad used to have a scent that supposedly smelled like leather and there are bits in here that remind me too strongly of it. I'll try it on the bf though, and see if he likes it As it's drying it's cleaning itself up though, but still.. very masculine.
