Well, I'm beginning to think my system is whacked. I loved the somewhat vague description of SMUT 2012, and thought for sure I would Love it. But this was my second Strike Out with my Luper purchases (and I only bought two, so my average is not good). I thought this would be dark and boozy and deep. What I got, at least on my skin, was a really harsh floral which is sharp and stinging. It does have a really good throw and keeps on trucking- I put a single dot on my right hand about 5-6 hours ago and I can still smell it strongly. When I read an earlier review which mentioned Amaretto I knew this was right up my alley but I'm wondering if there was a bottle mix up or something. I noticed my bottle has a second label on top of another and I am wondering if it may have been mislabeled? Not sure if I should try peeling off the label or what. I dont feel comfortable swapping it for the same reason. I think this is just a loss, so sad. ***Scratch the mislabeling idea. I just removed the label and it is a single label. It felt quite thick so maybe it was just the amount of glue or adhesive that was slightly different **sigh**

I'm CRUSHED I tell you, CRUSHED! I hate to be the first to give a less than stellar review, and I'm SO disappointed! I thought this would be my PERFECT vanilla scent and I bought a 5ML unreviewed, I guess because that's my idea of living dangerously. But on me this is straight up baby power. A LOT of baby powder! In the bottle its straight up vanilla with a little light floral which was soft and round and I was already planning on buying a back up or two (or three). As soon as I applied it and it dryed it was baby powder from the get go. Now, I dont have anything against baby powder, but on me this was Baby Powder to the Nth Degree. Im soo SAD!! Happy its working for everyone else, that makes me feel so much better! I guess I am a freak of Nature

The Arrival at the Sabbath and Homage to the Devil

OK, so this is my first ever review! Drum roll Please... Now, bear in mind, I am very new to the world of BPAL and I dont generally like most traditional perfumes because they just gag me and make my sinuses sieze up, maybe because of the alcohol? I dont know...I was worried about that when I placed my first order, but have had no similar problems with the BPAL oils. So this was the first scent I really fell for and seemed to fit me like it was made for me. There is an interesting duality in the scent that represents the painting very well. I certainly dont wish to offend with this review, so read on at your own risk! On one hand this reminds me of churchy smells, probably the incense. It seems sort of Holy, like you should be hearing Gregorian chanting while smelling it. Its quite warm and fuzzy, comforting in a way that reminds me of autumnal leaf burning on a dreary damp November day.It gives me a sort of sense of well being and feeling protected, Kind of like the feeling you get when the weather is potentially deadly, like a blizzard situation, but you are safe and snug in a warm house with the fire crackling and plenty of coffee, soft blankets, candles, good books, and you can hear your honey singing in the shower. On the other hand, there is an underlying sweetness, very dark, seductive, with questionable intentions. I can see the potential for immoral behavior, such as sex on the alter with the priest you have been secretly lusting after for 6 years. And you know he cannot resist, and will never forgive either of you, but you just cannot control yourself, and get a deep sense of satisfaction in having him profane himself on the alter. Wicked! And just to clarify, I am not guilty of the above mentioned behavior, but WOW! This scent can bring out the best in you or the worst. It's your choice.
