I had such hopes for this one! I thought, after time, the complexity will come out. Nope. Just baby lotion/powder scented disappointment. However, the bright side is that this might be a good layering perfume to use with New Orleans. I shall see.

This was a blind-buy for me but I am rather surprised at how much I love this. It is warm and a little firey (which I attribute to the myrrh) and I will definitely be wearing this again soon. Wet, it has the weirdest firey chemical smell. I attribute the chemical smell to the jasmine and the firey smell to the myrrh. The warmth is compounded by the roses. I was patient with it, though, and held out. I am glad I did because once it had a good hour to transform, it became this devilish rose fragrance. The throw is very short on me but I will sniff my wrist for this one. The strangest thing is that the clothing that I got the oil on smells way more like jasmine and myrrh. This must mean that my chemistry brings out the roses (which is something I have suspected all along) and that makes me want to invest in an entire bottle of Wicked.

Almonds...why'd it have to be almonds? I hoped, beyond hope, that almond would play a smaller role in this scent. Out of the bottle, the almond makes itself known as the star of the show. Everything else is an accessory (it does say that in the description). I do enjoy the honey in this scent as I think it takes some of the bitterness out of the almond. The spices are also nice and add a "glowy" and warm feeling to the scent. I do wish it were a bit more complex, though, as I shy away from smelling like baked goods. It might be very nice with a touch of incense or resin. It did get better as it aged on my skin. The almond mellowed into a less-sweet version and the honey and spices matured nicely. I am keeping this for my husband's sake because I am not sure I like how gourmand it is on its own.

This fragrance is a bit out of my comfort zone as far as identifying particular scents. I can ID jasmine very well and I know rose geranium when I smell it but--- The Night-Raven quarks at me. It is not a strong fragrance for me but there is a strange combination of the rose geranium and another scent note that puzzles me. It is sharp but soft. It sits on my hand and also pecks at my finger. I love it and also hate it. I need more time before I can commit! I was so puzzled by this one that I added Prada Infusion de Fleur d'Oranger without thinking too hard about it. They both tried to kill each other at first but then a weird thing happened: The Night-Raven won. And it changed, quite a lot. The sharp green rose geranium and soft patchouli(?) finally resolved their issues and the Fleur d'Oranger was the glue that held them together. I am sure I smelled enigmatic all night. I'm going to keep the Night-Raven around and see who he gets along with the best. For certain, this is a layering scent for me. Next time: lotus?

Smells like it might disappear at any moment which makes me think of the name, I suppose. I like that about it. I do appreciate the gorgeous florals but it is sooo mellow on my skin that it has next to no sillage at all. I want to smell it! I applied near my decolletage and still, so wispy... I love the combination of notes here! It is quite an interesting fragrance and has a little wood, a little spice (the juniper?), a lot of floral. However, the wimpy sillage/throw is annoying. I prefer a 3 to 4 out of 10 on the throw-meter and this is a 1 to 2. I had to take deep breaths to catch it from my wrist. It did have a lingering ghost, though. It is possible it would be a great layering perfume but I am afraid anything I used would overpower it. I used an aquatic-heavy perfume over it after 3 hours and---yeah, it died I suppose the world ends with a whimper, not a bang.

I had a lot of hopes for New Orleans. I thought the jasmine and "dark stuff" would add a depth to the honeysuckle. In the imp, it smells like spicy jasmine with an astringent lemon edge. I am eternally grateful that I only had to endure 5 minutes or so of the awful lemon smell while it was wet. As it dries down, the honeysuckle blooms. Jasmine is so hard sometimes (a difficult personality?) and I think that the spices die in its wake. I would have loved for the spices to play a stronger role but mayhaps it is my body chemistry dampening them. I still smell honeysuckle but it is second fiddle to the jasmine. It would not be so bad but it is beginning to smell like a car air freshener. Disappointed :/

Thank you both kindly. I had found that thread but I have no idea what I would have smelled or what would have been similar in feeling or not. All I know is that Poison did work with my body chemistry which I know from back in high school when I found a mini of it and wore it till it was gone. Venom, another white whale! I am just glad there are similar scents in the GC I would have gone insane trying to figure this out based on notes. I have no earthly idea what opponax or plum (as a perfume note) smell like. Now to find imps ears!

I often wax nostalgic when I think of Dior's Poison (the original, not the derivatives) because my mother's best friend had a huge bottle when I was a kid. I always used it when I played dress-up in her closet. I'm aware that Queen of Spades is supposed to be a close oil to this (and I am looking for an oil, no EdT for me) but I am not looking for an exact copy. Something close but with the same dark feeling. I do need better night time fragrance choices, anyhow. I really do NOT want a white whale in the form of Queen of Spades so anything that is fairly easy to come by would be welcome Thank you!

I first tried this perfume in 2005 and it came with 5 other floral scents; Reagan, Ava Maria Gratia Plena, Empyreal Mysts, Juliet, and Eve. I only liked Lucy's Kiss, Juliet, and Eve. The other three were overwhelmingly strong and turned acrid and Avon-y on me. I bought a full sized Lucy's Kiss in 2008 and have been wearing it for dates and times when I need it's particular nostalgic and sexy power. I seem to have a chemistry that is already bold and animalic so simpler or lighter florals work the best. When I sniff the bottle, it simply smells like an old rose kept in a perfumed hankie. There are only wisps of the spice and they tend to smell unremarkable and generic. When put on, it transforms into a more intense rose. The green rose notes dance on top of the mature, spicy rose body. The drydown calms the sillage into a glow. Most people cannot smell this on me until they get close, which is a part of the sexiness of this fragrance to me. The greener rose notes recede into the background and the warm spicy rose dominates. There is a slight edge to the fragrance until it mellows down. I believe it is one of the rose oils and it smells like hair product. As it matures, the spices temper the rose into a warm glow. I think of it like many others do, as the scent of a parlor room or the powder room of a proper lady with a dark secret. I always feel that the spiciness is a promise of darker things.

Hello all, I have used Lucy's Kiss as my signature scent for layering, etc. for years now. But I need to move on, I think. I went back to my imps...and decided Juliet and Eve are my new favorites. Should I try a few more scents like this, or are there any? I noticed someone said Juliet has a few like-scents, but what about Eve? I am wearing Eve right now and am in love with myself. I do like magnolia quite a bit as well... thanks! N
