Another great Dragon's Blood scent. Blood Amber has a predominant Dragon's Blood scent, and the amber tempers it a little and makes it a bit less heavy and more mellow. It dries down lighter than some of the others do, with a touch of sweetness. Really nice drydown. Just more proof that it's hard to go wrong with Dragon's Blood.

This one has a creamy, white scent. It doesn't have the piercingly white scent of the night-blooming flowers, it's just a solid floral. Calming and gentle, yet strong, with a hint of somberness. It's a good dark, grown-up floral. It would be good as a gift for a relative, or to wear to work or to a wedding or something. I don't smell roses at all, but I smell a hint of something like Queen Mab. Must be the orchids. The funny thing is that Queen Mab turns a bit sour on me, but Magdalene does not at all. I am enjoying it a lot. I actually wore it today to tell the story of Mary Magdalene to some primary school children.

This scent really does smell like absinthe, although with a bit of a soapy or perfume-y scent. It would be a good gift for someone who likes commercial minty perfumes. It is a very nice scent.

Bravery, Courage, Confidence, Intimidation, Power

Blood Countess is a nice complex pear scent, I think it feels empowering. -
Ooh! This is very dark, very sexy cherry. It's very reminiscent of Kabuki, but I like it even better. I love it, because it is one of those sexy empowering scents, and the heliotrope is there just as a hint to add some kind of intensity and depth to the predominant cherry scent. And it's a nice cherry, not an artificial cough-syrupy cherry.

Kitsune-Tsuki is a strong, springy, floral. It smells predominantly of daffodils, and puts me in a springy mood. It's a lovely scent, but not an everyday one. I don't smell the plum at all, it's not very fruity on me.
-
I love all the components, but I don't smell any of them. On me it turns into LEMON LEMON LEMON! It is a nice cheery citrus scent without any of the sourness a lot of citrus has on me. It's a good uplifting scent, although I am not a big citrus person.

I think I may have found a blend that could be a good mood-lifting oil, will have to experiment. Loralei has ylang-ylang (mood lifting scent), sandalwood (isn't that another mood-lifting scent, I seem to remember reading that somewhere?), and neroli (there's the citrus). Plus I think it's just a pretty blend. Although I may want to keep an imp of Spooky in my purse just in case, I agree with you Macha.
-
When I first put Loralei on, it was a bit too complex of a blend for me and I thought (sadly) that I wasn't going to like it. Then after a few minutes, it mellowed into a lovely feminine scent. I could smell the ylang-ylang and sandalwood (both favourite scents of mine) but neither was overpowering. The neroli just gave the scent a touch of roundness, without major oranginess or anything. (Note from other reviews, I don't get aquatics on this scent at all, which is good because aquatics don't seem to like me very well.)

I love this one! It has the distinct scent of dragon's blood, but it is not as overpowering as some dragon's blood scents. The currant mellows it and adds a slight berry sweetness, just a hint. The musks give it a sensual feel, and it has a bit of smokiness too it. All in all, it's a scent to feel empowered and sensual.

Jester comes across as sweet and candylike, with no notes coming to the foreground. It's a nice sweet scent, not cloying, but not my cup of tea either. It reminds me a bit of bordello, perhaps it is the currant.

(I got this as a bonus imp from a wonderful swappee!) I am in love! Tamora has notes that are very reminiscent of my beloved Fae, with a good amount of peachiness (but just like Fae, it is not cloying), but it is different enough to not have the same associations. Plus it has the underlying sandalwood hint, just enough to be pleasant without being overpowering. It is a lighter scent than Fae, so you could wear it if you like lighter scents, or just reapply more frequently.

When Spooky goes on, it smells like pure mint chocolate. Yummy, but not a scent I'd like to wear all day. Fortunately, the chocolate smell fades over time, and it becomes more minty, but a nice mellowed mint, tempered with rummy cocoanut and not sure what else. I like it a lot, because foody scents don't always work on me, but it's a sort-of foody scent that I could still wear to work. What I like about it, is it has a bit of the buttery rumminess of Grog, but Grog was a bit too harsh for me to wear every day.

Storm Moon is VERY floral and perfumey, with a strong ozone note. I was hoping to like it for the "touch of floral", but it is way too strong on me. As it dries down, the ozone note comes out more, and it reminds me a little bit of Cathode. It's not a scent for me, but if you are a Cathode fan and like florals, I think you will enjoy it.

Seconding Fae (my all-time favourite) and Tamora. -
Light, gentle, subtle scents for the office, class, expectant moms

Dana O'Shee is nice and light and sweet and almondy. I think it would be a lovely new mom scent. -
ACK. My body chemistry does HORRIBLE things to this scent. Maybe it's the lotus. Anyway, it twists this scent so it is sweet but has that funky kind of off smell that paperwhite narcissi have. Must wash off.

I like Depraved a lot. It's another of the handful of patchouli blends that I love (I love patchouli but the blends don't always work on me). It's predominantly patchouli, but the apricot gives it a hint of sweetness and tempers the patchouli just enough. A good feminine yet-empowering smell.

Wanda! I plan to order it when I use up my Perversion. -
What didn't work on anathaema_x works wonderfully on me, thanks for swapping it! I just want to wrap myself in Shroud, beautiful sandalwoody goodness. Sandalwood is my favourite EO, I used to wear it all the time, before I discovered BPAL. Shroud takes sandalwood and gives it a little extra feminine touch. It has a strong sandalwood scent, but the floral is definitely there, and very lovely. I love it. Definitely my favourite sandalwood BPAL so far. (Dragon's Bone is second, and Wolfsbane is third, since Hamadryad burns my skin.)

In the bottle, Morgause smells strangely of civet to me. When I first put it on, it smells like French perfume. As it blooms, I smell a hint of the night-blooming flowers, a faint hint of the fruits, and a bit more of the incense. Over time the violet comes more to the forefront, with the other scents fading more into the background, but still a hint of the other flowers. It is a pretty sophisticated floral. Not something I'd wear every day, but nice.

Kostnice starts out with a predominant rose geranium smell, with a touch of rosewood. As it dries, the rosewood comes out more, and it is a very nice rosey floral with just a hint of darkness. After I've worn it most of the day, the frankincense comes out more, and it is just a nice, sweet, mysterious floral without being overly floral. It's not one I would wear daily, but I enjoy it a lot.

Verdandi is the one Norn that doesn't agree with me. She is a little too green for my taste. There is a faint hint of apple, but really the herbs predominate on this one. It's not an unpleasant scent on me by any stretch, it's just not the kind of scent I like to wear. If you love barely-sweet herbal scents, this is definitely the scent for you. Hmm, I wonder if this is some kind of psychological comment. Like I love the past and I love the future, but I am never happy with the present.

Urd is now officially my favourite patchouli blend. It's just heavenly. It has a strong patchouli scent, with a bit of smokiness like Lapsang Souchong tea, and a touch of sweet fruitiness from the muscadine. It's dark and smoky and sexy and sweet, without being sour or cloying. It reminds me of the scent of the Lush store in Reykjavik. If you are a patchouli fan, you have to get this one.

I LOVE THIS SCENT!! WHY didn't I buy a 5ml when I ordered it? Something reminds me FAINTLY of Lilith and it must be the musk, because there are no other shared notes. I don't get any of the single notes really, I smell the FAINTEST touch of ylang ylang, a tiny bit of honey, but it's just a good, intense-but-not-overpowering, sweet-but-not-cloying, spicy sexy blend.
