    The Phantom Calliope

This is incredible. Wet: It burns us, preciouss, take it off! Cassis, cinnamon, so spicy I can barely stand it. No cherry here for me. Dry: Wait a second. Yeah, it is really spicy, but in a really nice way... After half an hour onward: This is so beautiful the word "beautiful" doesn't do it justice! I need a thesaurus. It is a very spicy blend, but not painful. Normally, I don't like to suffer through scary wet phases, but this is so totally worth it!!!

    Xanthe, The Weeping Clown

As a rule, I don't like clowns--Xanthe is the exception! In the bottle and on wet: Very fruity. Sweet, but the white pepper really gives it a bite--it's almost making me want to sneeze. Dry: The sharpness of the pepper pulls way back, and Xanthe becomes sweet and fruity but still a little spicy. The fruitiness most definitely isn't overwhleming on me. I'm loving this! After 4 hours: It didn't disappear, but since I carry my BPAL of the day around with me, I put a little more on after lunch. I'm so happy I have a bottle. This is just beautiful.

Athens, Litha, Hetairae, Cockaigne, and Les Bijoux!

    Les Bijoux

This is a beautiful scent. Wet, it's very sweet and fruity. Totally apples on me and that's fine! Dry, it gets very soft and creamy. I can smell the honey and frankincense now with much less fruit, but it's all so soft. Really deightful. On me, the honey is the last note to go, and that lasts for hours. Very happy that I got 5ml--this is slather worthy!!

    The Candy Butcher 2006

In the bottle: Chocolate--dark chocolate with heavy cream--exactly like the Lab's description. Wet, on son's arm: Chocolate, delicious and creamy. Dry, on son's arm: This is not a foody chocolate. It gets creamier--almost musky. After about an hour: This smells beautiful! It's reminding me of White Rabbit--that might be the cream. I like this better than Bliss or Vice, and I'm glad I got a bottle straight off. I will edit if it smells different on me than my son. He doesn't like it though, he said. He loves it! ETA: Having finally tried Snow White, yup it's in here. Sort of like Snow White with a cup of the finest hot chocolate money can buy...

    Uruk

In the bottle: Yikes! Almond. On wet: Strong amond and spice. This is scaring me a little... Dry after about 10 minutes: Whew! The almond has calmed way down, and I can smell a tiny bit of floral, saffron, and incense. No longer scared. I like it that the saffron hasn't hijacked everything like it usually does on me. Uruk is a very warm, dry, spicy scent. It's along the same lines as Morocco, but not nearly as sweet.

    Different smells/colors, same perfume

I have a bottle of Morocco that's probably about 10 months old. I loved it when it was new, and I love it even more now. There's definitely a creaminess, but I can't exactly call it vanilla. It's sweet and spicy, but softer now that it's older. If you get a new bottle that doesn't smell as beautiful as your imp, just tuck it away for a few months.

    The Lion

I love amber--I love spcy scents. The Lion is both. In the imp and on wet, I smell cinnamon and amber. Very nice, not overpowering. Dry, the cinnamon retreats and the ginger emerges, with the amber remaining as it was. Stays a gingery amber for the duration--which is four hours and counting. It's a really lovely, well-blended scent. Very warm--perfect for a cold, rainy day! I'd wear this on sunny days too. 5 ml ordered 8/22.

    Dilution and Carrier Oils

I had a bottle of blending oil that went bad. Instead of smelling like nothing, it smelled like rubbing alcohol. Look for oil that has vitamin e added, or else break open a capsule and add it to new oil. That will stop it from going bad.

    Delight

This has to be one of the strangest BPAL experiences I've ever had (so far). In the imp, Delight smells like vinegar. A few other posters said pickles, and I can definitely see that. But since i've had other scents morph into wonderful things on my skin, I gave Delight a try. As it dried, the vinegar went away and another note started to appear: lettuce! Yes, lettuce. That got me thinking of sandwiches, and when I sniffed my wrist, I swear I smelled lettuce, maybe some pepper, and a little oregano (the oregano could have been my imagination). So strange. After about an hour, it changed into a very nice spicy floral. I thought I liked foody scents, but on my skin, this was more like deli than Delight. (sigh) not for me. ETA: When I tried this on my son, after the initial pickle smell, it promptly turned into a really beautiful spicy floral. So it's definitely my evil skin.

Figs and Fig Scents - alone and in combos

    Strangler Fig!

    Aizen-Myoo

... Yuzu, kaki, and mikan with cherry blossom and black tea. This is one of those scents that completely transforms from wet to dry. In the bottle, Aizen-Myoo is a VERY strong, bitter, citrusy herbal. On, it quickly changes into a gorgeous soft, sweet, fruity floral with just a hint of tea. The change is remarkable! I agree wih everyone who said this is perfect for hot summer days.

    Titania

I wanted a good summer scent, and Titania certainly fits the bill! In the bottle: Grape mostly--quite strong, kinda scary... On wet: Still grapey, but with some peach as well. Really fruity. Dry: Oh, YUM. This is delicious! still fruity but softer, almost creamy. This is so nice--I love it. On a hot day it's refreshing and light. Very happy that I have 5ml!

    Hungry Ghost Moon 2006

Hungry Ghost Moon is beautiful. It's really incredibly beautiful. Oh, and did I mention how beautiful it is? It doesn't change from bottle to drydown. Gorgeous, gingery and sweet. Fresh and delicious. There really isn't an adjective that can do this scent justice. I'm also glad that I got two bottles. I won the best-smelling person in the office contest (which takes place daily in my head). Why? Because I'm wearing Hungry Ghost Moon!!!

    Swank

I didn't really expect to like this, but I tried it on a hot day, and wow! What a nice summer scent! It wasn't cloying or overpowering, it didnt make me smell like alcohol, it was just very nice, fruity and light. Yes, even crisp! I like this a lot. Maybe not enough for a bottle, but I'm not parting with my imp!

    Midway

I'm wearing Midway today. I agree with the preceding reviews that say it's sweet but not overpowering. I don't get any caramel, just a really yummy cotton candy fragrance. This doesn't last super long (although its been four hours and I can still smell it), so I brought the bottle with me! Midway is a great summer scent, and I'll wear in the winter to remind me of the summer!

    Antique Lace

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this because Antique Lace is one of my favorites. Wet or dry, after one minute or 12 hours, it is the same sweet, slightly musky vanilla. It is beautiful and I find it very comforting and nostalgic. It's one of those blends that makes me smile every time I smell it. Speaking of nostalgia, I remember opeing my first imp of Antique Lace. I nearly melted into a puddle--in fact, i dropped the imp, but quickly wiped up the oil with a kleenex and kept that for sniffing until my 5 ml arrived! LOVE.

    Tweedledee

When I first tried Tweedledee, I kept smelling something familiar, but couldn't put my finger on it. Then it hit me: Chaste Moon. So yesterday, I put some Chaste Moon on my left wrist and Tweedledee on my right. They are nearly identical--at least to me. I love Chaste Moon dearly, and I'm extremely happy to have a catalog scent to run to when my bottle is gone!

    Strangler Fig

Strangler Fig is one of my new favorites. In the imp, it smells like a sunwarmed forest on a Spring afternoon (deciduous--no pine!). On, the fig comes out, along with this creaminess that other reviewers have mentioned. It's not particularly foody, it's light and green and creamy. No better word for it. Strangler Fig lasted well, and remained true. It's so light, I wouldn't think twice about putting more on in the middle of the day, though. This one is beautiful and a 5 ml for sure!

    Hetairae

I took this out of my keeper imp box and tried it on. In the bottle: Honey, flowers, and spice. On wet: A really nice honeyed floral. Dry: Ahh, now it's all about the honey. I don't get alot of patchouli, but maybe that's what keeps the honey from being cloying. 7 hours later: The honey is still there, it hasn't changed one bit. (Thanks, skin!) Verdict: I have posted an ISO on the wanted board. I am in love. 5 ml coming up. I will try as best I can to wait until the update, but no promises!

    Vechernyaya

This one I got an imp of, which I opened and promptly spilled all over my hands! Then I noticed how incredibly wonderful my hands smelled for the rest of the evening. Big bottle ordered right away. In the bottle, Vechernyaya smells like cold, frosty musk with a little patchouli. I didn't smell any poppy (or peanut butter, thankfully!) On wet, and dry 12 hours later, it smelled the same as in the bottle--it didn't morph, fade, or change in any way. It is unspeakably beautiful and unlike any other BPAL scent I've tried.

    Black Pearl

I chose Back Pearl to end my week. Wet: Nice! Not especially heavy on any one note in particular, maybe a little coconut... Dry: In love! More coconutty, but again not overwhelming. Some iris and musk have appeared. No nuts, though. Very smooth and soft. After about three hours: It's pretty much gone. I really wish it would have lasted longer. This is one I am definitely going to try out in a scent locket. [updated 4/3] I got it to last all day by slaaathering it on! Thankfully, it's not a knock-you-over kind of scent, so the slathering elicited no comments from coworkers. The coconut comes out more for me as the hours go by. At the end of the day, it was a light buttery coconut..

    Morocco

In the morning I slathered Morocco on and this is how it went. Wet: A wonderful creamy, spicy foral. Dry: Creamy spicy floral musk--oh, yum! Throughout the day (about eight hours): Morocco stayed true for me. The spiciness was never too spicy, the floral never too flowery, the musk never heavy nor the sweetness cloying. Earlier, someone described it as buttery--which it is--but not foody. How true. This one is another that I bought imp unsniffed, and I don't regret it for a second!
