  1. Just got mine...fresh from the mailbox!!

In the bottle...sniffing, a pure dry chocolate scent. Very nice. However, in my bottle, there are globs of dark things that are sticking to the sides. Must be the chocolate?I had to shake it real hard and it helped a little, but there are still globs sticking to the sides and bottom. Anyone else?

On skin - as stated, it is a grown up, dry cacao I get from this. I don't get much of anything else from it. I don't detect caramel, and I am not sure what tonka is supposed to smell like, but could that be making it seem dry?

It is very nice....it is a pure dry cocoa to me. Has a good throw. If you are a choco lover, you will like this one!

  2. Got a decant of this!!

Sniffing, I get a very sweet, purple-y fruit... but I get a bit of the patchouli hiding there. :) I get where people think a bubblegum scent being there.

On skin, it stays very sweet... and there is that leaves/patch scent lingerng with the fruits. I am not picking up on any wine note, but I know zero about wine and don't know what bordeaux actually

After a bit. I can see how this is made to be like a grape bubblegum. It is like that, but I get the dark patch note with it, but it is blended nicely...not a dirty patch, but a smooth and soft one with the fruit notes. It has a good throw on me, but not sure I need a bottle of this.

  3. Got a decant of this. Sniffing, I too get the initial El Dia Los Reyes relative. :) I agree that it is a bit softer and cremier than El Dia.

On my skin, it softens up even more. I too detect something a little plastic-y. I get a teeny hint of coffee and the caco cream. No cinnamon...if there is chocolate there. I am not detecting that either. It is nice but light. Glad I just got a decant because I am not sure I would end up wearing this.

  4. Oak Leaf, Bourbon Vanilla, Almond Husk, and Black Leather Accord darkened by a 13-year aged black Patchouli.

    Boy this shipped FAST!!

This review, as of now, is just my impressions sniffing. I will edit/update when I get it in my hair.

Now, I never smelled the perfume version of this, but sniffing, I immediately thought this this a relative of Revenant Rhythm, but with leather! I smell the patchouli which is lovely. (this is coming from someone who usually loathes patchouli) I am sure it has something to do with not only the leather note, but I smell a hint of vanilla and oak.

Can't wait to try this in my hair....It smells like the grown up version of RR. Like, if they had a family, H.M. would be the black sheep, but in a good way. ;)

Got this in my hair... it is actually a lot stronger in my hair than in the bottle. It is leather heavy and the patchouli seems to take over. I was hoping this was how it was in the bottle...but that is ok. I am sure I can re-home this!

  5. So, I decided to try this one in my second Luper order!! I am always iffy when it comes to leather notes, since they can be TOO heavy or way too light. Maybe it's me.

Sniffing in the bottle, think someone said this above, but it is a clean leather. Not worn or old...freshly made.

On my skin, it stays the same and it is real nice. It warms up a bit and gets a little more "aged" smelling...like it's been worn a couple weeks and broken in. On me, it stays close to the skin, but has a nice throw. I know that doesn't make sense, but there it is.

This is a great leather scent... perfectly unisex. Not too sweet for guys, not too masculine for the ladies. If you are like me and like not-too-over-the-top leather blends, get this one! I think it would make a great layering note as well.

  6. [No additional description given.]

Ok, so usually I totally stay away from anything that has patchouli in it... BUT I have learned that there are times when the Lab/Post has a way of blending it that makes it less hippie-ish, which is what I never liked about patch. SO I thought I would try this!

I haven't sprayed in my hair, so this is just sniffing in the bottle... I might edit this once I do a proper hair test. Sniffing in the bottle I do get chocolate... and something pale and sweet. That might be the tea note, but it doesn't seem like the usual tea scent I have smelled in other blends. Also, it might be how the patch is blended with the tea and chocolate, but it almost seems like it is a little bit of a licorice smell there. My nose isn't at 100% right now because of allergies, but this seems like it will be a nice light blend despite it being patch and dk chocolate in there.

Update: Got this in my hair....sadly, this isn't for me. The chocolate note is nice, but the tea and patch notes together goes odd. Still get that licorice vibe and I am not a licorice fan. :( Oh well.... that's how it goes!

Sniffing this in the bottle.... to me, this is a close relative to El Dia Los Reyes, just less spicy. I am just testing this on my arm, but the chocolate is light and the other notes are blended perfectly with it. I thought this would be stronger, but it might be once it is in my hair... which I will edit upon testing it rightly.

The amber is soft, but present... glad it isn't too crazy heavy, since amber does that to me. The nutmeg adds a perfect little amount of spice. Not sure I am getting the sandalwood. This is lovely. :)

Edit to add, that yes... this is surprisingly light. I get all the notes. I prefer to have my HG's to have more oomph to them. but this is a lovely light chocolate, amber, sandalwood....but yes, very light throw. Perfect for having to work in close proximity to others that might get easily olfactory offended. :)

    Another sweet win!

In the bottle, it is a lovely white choco and pear!

On skin - it stays the same... it is a sweet choco/pear. Not overly sweet, but sweet enough for foody lovers!

Drydown - the pear comes out a little more in front, but the choco is there. Very light.... fades quick, but it is very nice.

*Edited to give better review..... did a proper test! :)

  9. [No additional description provided.]

    This one is SOOOO GOOD!!

The oil is very dark in color! Sniffing in the bottle, this is so rich and chocolatey..... any choco lover, please get this now.

Sniffing this, I get all the notes... all prominent. I am always leary of any booze notes, but this one is very well blended.

On my skin, I smell the most amazing candy! If this was available as a valentine candy, I would be eating this hand over fist.

Drydown is amazing! It stays true all the way through! Very decadant and I love it... the caramel... the whiskey..... the cardamom!! I am in love!

  10. Oh...my....gosh!!!

Ok, anyone that loves Snake Oil and loves Western Diamondback, you need this!! To me, this is the big brother version of WD!! I can see this aging to utter gorgeousneous!!!

It is a beautiful leather Snake Oil! The leather is blended perfectly to me....but yes, a little more dense than WD. This is going to be a back up bottle worthy!

  11. Got decant of LXII (62)

Always hard for me to describe these Chaos blends. Funny what your nose is telling your brain and then trying to translate. :)

This, to me, is a soft incense blend with possibly cassia? When sniffing, I get something cinnamon-like, but it is a watered down kind of cinnamon which I tend to think cassia smells like. Not a strong cinnamon or a baking cinnamon, but yeah... cassia.

It is light and doesn't hang around long. I am also interested what others think of this blend since there are 3 others out there. :)

  12. Finally got a decant of this! Been wanting to try this one for a while.

Sniffing in the decant, a very sweet brandy and orange. So far it's great. As I applied it in my damp hair. I got the quickest whiff of what must have been the chestnuts. It was a super quick smoky note, but that went away immediately.

I am left with a wonderful lightly brandied apple, apricot and orange. I get a little of the fig as well. I knew this would be a good one. It is light on me...with a light throw. Very festive but I think this is one that can be worn anytime of the year!

  13. Oh my goodness!!! I got a bottle of this and decanted some of it out... kind of regretting doing that! ;)

In the bottle and in my hair... it is the BEST mulled, spiced wine scent!! Good scent and throw. I was worried about the honey note (that is why I decanted it out..just in case a whole bottle was a miss) but this is so beautifully blended. It really does capture the mulled spiced wine drink!

Get this if you are a foody/wine lover. If you are one where honey notes don't work... no fear!! This is amazing!!

  14. Got my bottle today... LI (51).... this is tough. I might update this when I actually have it in my hair.

Sniffing from the bottle... yep, there is incense.. but it is real soft. I am detecting something sweet, but it is more a sweet floral...maybe? Not foody or candy sweet in any way. I am real bad at floral notes (if this is what I am detecting) but it seems floral, but then not. WOW this is hard to descrbe.

So....after giving this a squirt... it is so weird. I am still getting that sweet.... SOMETHING.... making me batty. If it existed, I would think this is a soft incense with the cotton candy flower! :) It's the best I can do

  15. This is very lovely!!! Wondering if I should try for a full bottle!!

In the decant, there it is... that warm, buttered rum that just seems to go hand in hand with the holidays! In my damp hair, the rum is less prominent, but it is there. The smokiness, to me, is perfect. The smokeiness is a wonderful faint chimney fire scent....like the fire has been out for a while. It isn't overpowering, which is good. but it is there... there is a sweetness that keeps it in check. As said above, this isn't gourmand, but anyone that likes gourmand or foody scents should love this. Anyone who likes smoke scents, will love this as well. A perfect well rounded sweet/smoky scent! I love this!!

  16. Got this in a swap...surprised there aren't more reviews!! So, I tend to love anything pumpkin...wasn't sure about absinthe, but here goes nothing! :)

In the bottle - Smells lovely. There is that yummy Lab pumpkin spice scent.... there is something lurking in it... the green fairy? ;)

On skin - At the first quick sniff, it *almost* smells like Snakes in the Pumpkin Patch. but only for a brief second. The absinthe comes out right away for me. The pumpkin is there, but the licorice/absinthe note is starting to take over... in a strong way.

Dry down - Hmm....not sure this is for me. If the pumpkin was more prominent, I might like this, but it isn't there enough for my liking. There is something a hair masculine about this.... oh well.... sadly not for me. Off to swaps! :)

  17. Can't really help, but there was one review for the Manger Hay....seems to read pure "barn"...so it might be exactly what you are looking for. :) Might make a good layering note as well.

Black Bear Moon that came out a while ago had a nice fur note to it.... to my nose, so that might be something also? Good luck in your search!!!

  18. After reading the above reviews... I decided I needed to try and hunt down a bottle... anything with chocolate in it, count me in!

In the bottle - Just got it in the mail a while ago... it was very cold, so waited until it got to room temp. Yep, there is chocolate.... and something else. I guess it could be some sort of pine note... everygreen.... that makes it "slush?" Not sure.... but it is there.

On skin - Hmm... I get a chocolate medicine thing going on. Like chocolate flavored Vics vaporub.....not full on menthol, but it is there.....guess that is supposed to be the cold slush note.

Drydown - Stays the same.... a menthol minty chocolate. Sad...don't think I like this very much! After a bit... it gets a hair cologn-y on me. Not overpowering, but still a no go. :(

  19. Had to try this... always on the hunt for a good holly type scent that doesn't go all over-the-top pine-sol on me! :)

In the bottle - very green and holly! Not forest or garden green, but that holiday wreath/holly green scent.

In damp hair - the green part gets pretty sharp at first...but then it quickly mellows, but it is still fresh and "there." The holly part comes out as well and I think this is a perfect balance of green and holly notes. On me, it is strong, but I like how it smells...fresh and green and Christmas-y.

If you are worried about green notes, don't worry with this one. Medium throw and very festive. :)

  20. Being a foody lover, um... yeah....easy choice!

In the bottle - sweet mashmallow fudge sugar goodness...surprisingly not overly sweet.

On skin - OOh, at first, this seems like Bah! and The Gorobble got together and had a baby!! But then...it seems I have smelled this before, but can't place it! It is a foody lover's dream!

Drydown - Oh this is good!!! I get the marshmallow and cookie....... WAIT!!!! THAT'S IT!!! It reminds me of Marshmallow Cookie Pie that came out!! This smells like that! So if you loved that, get this!

  21. Hard to believe there isn't many reviews for this one....yet! This was a no-brainer purchase for me! HAD to try!

In bottle - Very red berry, but there is something "Chrsitmas" about it...so far so good!

On damp hair - This is lovely. I get the blast of berries, but it quickly turns into something festive and green. I am not one for green scents, but anything that has to do with a Christmas green scent, I have to try.

After a few minutes, it fades quite a bit but it is still a lovely scent. Very pale green/cranberry/holiday scent!! I do wish it was a little stronger as with how it is sniffing, but this is a keeper!! Anyone afraid of green scents, you will like this one!!

  22. Wanted to try this.... Yuletide is the ONLY perfume oil I have found to have a perfect blend of that holly/pine/green/ Christmas-y vibe that works on me without it being too pine-y on me. Plus with chocolate listed as a note... yes!!

In the bottle - WHOA!!! A BLAST of fir needles! Like, they were cut and the sap is all over the place. Kind of scared.

On skin - Ok... mellows quickly, but still pretty sharp on me. The white chocolate is now present and keeping the fir needle at bay.

Drydown - This gets a little better....fades a little, but in a good way. I think if this stayed strong like the first sniff, it would anger anyone around me. :) This is pretty and soft....not detecting too much chcolate. Hmm.....not sure this is for me at the moment. :)

  23. Went back and forth with a couple of the gingerbreads...decided to try this one, since I am wanting to still find a sweeter, foody type gingerbread, which I haven't found...at least to my nose.

In the bottle - get a slighty sweet, jam covered gingerbread. I get the sweet and the sharp-ish gingerbread scent.

On skin - the sting of the gingerbread is sharp...almost hurts to sniff, but the sweet fruit/jam comes out.

Drydown - Hmm...hard to decide if I like this or not. Hate when I get a scent on and one second I am thinking, "yeah...I like this" then another second later I am thinking, "No...not for me." I get the fruit and jam, and the gingerbread is still slighty more prominent, but it is still a bit too sharp for me. Not sure I am making sense, but I am wanting that sweeter, cookie type GB....mostly what I have gotten from the Lab is like a more baking cupboard GB...more nose tingly and hard to sniff. Not sure what to do!!
