  1. In the decant, yep... a blast of bubblegum. I actually never got a bubblegum scent from the Lab because it is a note that isn't my thing.. but I can't pass up anything with Snake Oil in it. It does sweeten up the S.O. as it dries, but it is quite... good. I'm surprised, since I am not a fan of girly, overly sweet scents, as bubblegum implies. :) It does go a bit plastic-y on me, but the S.O. keeps it from being icky! Don't think I need a bottle since I think this is one I wouldn't reach for.

  2. Agree with Zzankoku...it has a smokiness to it, but has a light milk choco, marshmallow and graham cracker note all mixed together. it's really lovely... and yes, it is light on me. Not heavy or cloying, so if you are afraid of it being that way, it isn't!

Edit to add mine is a decant. :)

  3. 2018 Version

SO... I LOVE Snake Skin. I have the 2017 version which is amazing!! This one, to me, is basically the same, but..wearing it, it is not as strong and not as much throw as the 2017 version.

If the 2017 version was too much for you, you might like this one better...at least for now. I let mine sit for a while before testing it and it might get stronger over time, due to the aging process, but this is definitely not as potent.

It is still that leather scent mixed with the Snake Oil, but seems paler in comparison...still wonderful.

  4. Bundled in blankets by a roaring fire.

    No reviews yet?? Ok...here goes...

So, for me, leather notes can be either full on amazing or absolutely NO for me. I ADORE Snake Skin and Western Diamondback. I tried to like Whip, and Riding Crop, was too strong. So, with that being said, I thought I would try this... thinking the nut note might be an interesting co-star to the leather. (nut notes are the same for me as leather notes).

In the decant, sniffing....I get a little whiff of the leather... the chestnut is also present, but neither are overwhelming.

In my damp hair, it changes.... it really smells like there is a smokiness to this... a bonfire smoke added. The leather and the chestnut are not front and center, but they are there... so that with the smokiness, is actually quite lovely. It has a good throw for me, so this is one that would be perfect for an outside campfire, but not sure it would be welcome in any work-place setting if you have to be in close proximity to someone. :)

As it dries a bit, it is a leather, (not suede) that was hung near a fire...the leather is surprisingly not over-cloying, but still can smell it around my head!! if you are a leather fan and love the bonfire smoke smell, this is for you! :)

  5. So, I love peppermint... in any form. Candy, perfume, candles, you name it. However, for some reason, the peppermint notes in the oils tend to disappear in a flash on my skin. SO, seeing this HG, I thought, well, maybe this will be different, and IT IS!!

Sniffing in the bottle, I get just chocolate... no peppermint at all. Uh oh!

BUT applying it to my damp hair, I still got just a light milk chocolate scent... I was getting worried, but then, after a couple seconds, BOOM!! The peppermint emerges! It is so good...and it seems to be staying around!!

It does have a low throw to me, but it is at least there!! Very light peppermint cocoa!! I love it. Try this if you are like me....this is very much ok to wear without worrying about it being cloying. Light, peppermint-y with that touch of hot cocoa!! YUM!

  6. Had to try this one...

Tried the others, but the Strawberry one, like usual, went a bit plastic-y....the Raspberry, YUM, so I figured this one might be good. As I honestly don't know the scent difference between blackcurrant and blackberry, I usually do well with "purple" fruits.

In the bottle...I smell the purple fruity jam and dough!! So far so good!

On skin, the fruit comes out in a big way... jammy and sugary and doughy! Love it!

I understand all the love it's getting above...this is so gourmand and foody! Want to eat one now, dammit! :) As it dries, it stays the same... has a good throw for me. If the other Sufganyiots worked for you, give this one a whirl!! :)

  7. This smells so good!

In the bottle, I get rich egg nog and the gingersnap right behind it... a very yummy mixture.

In my hair, I get a nice balanced blend of both the egg nog and gingersnap. I agree with above, it is cozy and just sweet enough to not make your teeth ache! :) it is surprisingly light on me, but present... I can smell it without having to shove my hair in my nose. This is a perfect scent to wear to work or Christmas party and you won't offend anyone nearby!! Gourmand and foody without being overly so.

  8. And an extra dash of cinnamon!

Got this for Christmas! :) In the bottle, very light milk chocolate. I don't smell any cinnamon, so a dash must be correct! :)

In my damp hair, at first, it reminds me of El Dia Los Reyes, but then it quickly just fades... got milk chocolate at first, and then, after like 30 seconds, I don't smell anything. :( Even pushing my hair in my face. Oh well.... that's the way it goes.

  9. Got a decant of this from the lovely Carrie above.... I love most Snake Oil blends, and this one intrigued me. Wasn't sure about the terebinth and Krampus...and I honestly don't know what pomelo is, but Snake Oil and some dark fruits.... sure, why not!

Sniffing, I get the Snake Oil.... and a mixture of the other scents... pine... fruit...so far, not too shabby.

On...oh my... I really like this! I get Snake Oil and both the black currant and pomegranate!! Terebinth (that is a kind of pine, right?) is very much in the background for me!

I mostly just get the fruit and SO and I love it!! Has great throw for me!! Need to have more than a decant!!!

  10. Um.... WOW!!!

This is so good... regret only getting a decant, but yes... sniffing this in the decant, it is a rich, sweet pumpkin and blueberry. BUT in my hair, it turns right into a fresh-out-of-the-oven blueberry pumpkin muffin!!

Smells so good... has that real blueberry scent! Not that fake quick box muffin mix (if you were wondering.) Scent has great throw...not too heavy and not too light. Need a large bottle of this!

  11. Absinthe is always one of those scents that depending on how it's blended, it can either be really good or really bad, so I had to try this.

Got a decant of this, and sniffing it, it is very sweet...which I didn't expect, but it does say caramel and white sugar. :) In my hair, it turns out to be a lovely effervescent sweet scent. Not sure I am getting caramel out of this, but a bubbly sugary green scent... not green as in greenery, but as in the green fairy.

It has a good throw and strength on me...I think this is a wonderful scent for springtime as well as fall. If you like sweet scent, then you will like this one.

  12. Oh yes!!

Exactly as was said above! I just got mine from the mailbox....I had to try it right away, and Dementia hit it on the nose!! This is so Snow White and Snake Oil, and it is amazing!!! If you love both those scents, then go now and get this!

It isn't cloying... I love strong Snake Oil, but the frostbitten note in it keeps it at bay, but I am sure this will age amazingly!! I will for sure get myself another one of these!!

  13. For spiking that latte. (We won’t tell.)

I'm the first?? Ok then!! Here we go!

Got a decant of this.... sniffing, lots of pumpkin spice... and, not getting much rum. Maybe a couple drops of it. :)

In damp hair, this is really nice! It is very pumpkin spice...still not detecting much rum there, but that is ok. I am a nut for anything pumpkin scented. This has a medium throw on me and doesn't change much. It isn't a bakery pumpkin spice either... it has an edge to it, but at the same time sticks close.

Now, I had tried the Pumpkin Spice Everything HG and that one was a bit too much for me, so if that is you, then try this because it is like that but on a much mellower scale.

  14. Ok... WOW!! Might be a little late to the party, but SO glad I got this!! Red fruit notes (cherry, strawberry and raspberry) tend to go plastic-y on me. So, was hoping this one wouldn't...and it is SO WONDERFUL!!

In the bottle, get a blast of rich raspberry jelly!! So far so good.

On my skin, this stays true! NO PLASTIC! :woohoo: It is just a delicious, sugary raspberry treat!! I don't know what a sufganiot is, but if it smells like this, I would eat them all day! Has great throw and lasting power!! If you are a foody lover and haven't tried this, try to snag some!! Can't stop sniffing my wrist!!

  15. Not sure what I can add to what was already mentioned above... except, I am very sorry for those who missed out on this! Really! The apple and marshmallow... so sweet and crisp! I can't stop shoving my hair in my nose to sniff! :)

If you like apple scents....and love Boo HG, I hope you can find some of this... it reminds me of the soft sweetness Boo HG has but with the added marshmallow and apple! I wish this was hoard-able. So very good!!!! :wub3:

  16. Sniffing in the bottle, I smell cardamom, some cream...and what can only be pumpkin, but it seems more vegetable-y at first sniff.

On skin, Instantly turns into a creamy pumpkin cake... with the cardamom mixed in! Very gourmand. Like said above, I also get no cinnamon from this.

On dry down, the pumpkin seems to be a hair more on the vegetable side rather than the foody/baked goods type. Hmm...kind of makes me sad.

  17. So, reading the notes...yeah.. I bought this instantly!! Ya kidding me? :)

In the bottle, creamy chocolate and espresso!!

On skin, Mmm...I detect the caramel a little....still get creamy chocolate and espresso. Not too heavy actually, considering the notes in it. Getting a teeny hint of the chipotle...very much in the background.

As it dries, the chocolate stays creamy... sometimes choco notes get powdery on me, but this is lovely. At this point, also not getting much espresso, but all the notes are there and well balanced and soft to me. Low throw, but maybe with age this will get crazy rich, I hope.

  18. Spiced rum with cinnamon, apple butter, nutmeg, and thick vanilla cream.

Had to get this one... apple is almost always a win note for me! :)

In the bottle... smells of a pleasantly sweet apple and vanilla cream. It smells buttery, but not butter as in on popcorn or toast! :)

On skin, oh this is so good!! It is a still, creamy vanilla apple! The rum comes out a bit... not getting any spice from this as of yet.

As it dries, it stays close to my skin, but it keeps the vanilla/apple scent. Like a lightly baked apple that was dipped in heavy cream. This is very good!! If you are afraid of the cinnnamon and/or nutmeg, don't be. That are way in the background...this smells so good and I am hoping it will get better with age. If not, it is still a wonderful winner!!

Edit to add: Been about 45 minutes and this is still going strong and yummy. The nutmeg comes out at last, but it is still a background player!

  19. This one was an instant no-need-to-think-about purchase! I love anything with Snake Oil... and this... yes!!

Sniffing in the bottle, yep... there is S.O. I smell *something* a little spicy there.

On skin, I get the S.O. and the pumpkin spice emerges!! This smells real good!

Dry down, I still get the S.O. but there is something...grainy about it... like grains. It isn't super strong, but it is there... odd. Not getting any pumpkin out of this but maybe this needs to age for a bit. :)

  20. Grabbed a bottle of this... normally, reading ALL the notes, there aren't many that work or I even know! :) BUT reading the reviews above, seems like this might be one I have to try.

Sniffing in the bottle, (also, still a little cool-ish from being out in the cold waiting for delivery) it is very Aumtumn-like. Woodsy, but not overly so. Usually, wood or anything pine, elm, etc etc can be way too strong for me. Sniffing, this smells SO nice. Present, but not eye-watering. I think I detect a little berry-like scent in the background, which helps.

On skin, wow!! This is so beautiful. I get...so much..spices, wine, outdoorsy, autumn, smoke. There is so much going on... but it isn't overwhelming. I agree with everyone above. This is Autumn. I think if dictionary's had smells, looking up the word 'autumn', you would smell this! :)

As it drys down, I detect some ivy and berry wine. Maybe it is the juniper berry, since it has that woodsy-berry feel. BUT after a few minutes, it already fades on me and I am left with a mild pine scent. Darn!! Started out so good too.

  21. Espresso, pumpkin syrup, smoky vanilla bean, milk, raw sugar, and a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg.

I always have to try anything the Post (or Lab) puts out that has coffee in it. Again, my sniffer is working at about 96%, so I will do my best.

Sniffing, oh yum...I get the espresso and pumpkin first! Very rich and so good. Sprayed in my damp hair, I get all the notes right away! After a few minutes, I get the milky and smoky vanilla. The espresso and pumpkin take a back seat, but this is still so very good.

If you loved this in perfume form, then get this. It is also surprisingly not heavy... present, but it stays close to me and has a low to medium throw. Again though, my nose isn't all there. But I think this is a wonderful winner!

  22. Fermented apple juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, clove, lemon zest, butterscotch liquor, and orange slices.

Oh this is good....and I am going on a nose that isn't working 100% (thanks to a cold! :) )

Sniffing in the bottle, it is surprisingly....light. I sniff the butterscotch....apples... orange... lemon. It is a crisp cider to my nose. In my hair. it stays the same...it has a medium scent, not too heavy as I thought it might be with the sugar, clove, allspice and nutmeg notes, but this really is....sweet, not cloying, and a tad refreshing. You can totally wear this if you work in close range with people.

After a few, the apples and butterscotch are prominent. But so not cloying. I will edit/add to this as my hair dries more and my nose is a bit better. :) But if you are worried this would be too heavy and spicy, it so isn't!! This, to me, is a year round wearable scent.
