Huh? Could have sworn I left a review back for the 2011 version, since that (and The Gorobble) were my FIRST Lab purchases. This is the 2016 version and like the others, it doesn't disappoint! Always loved this blend. It is a perfect coffee/pumpkin/spice blend. All notes are there and I love the strong throw of it! To me, this is the epitome of what Autumn/Fall/Halloween should smell like!

In the bottle, sniffing... I get a strong gingery spice as well. Potent! On skin, like said above a few times, it is a yummy pumpkin. I don't get the usual pumpkin pie scent and it isn't vegetable-y, but a sweet and spicy..... simple pumpkin! As it dries down, it stays the same for me... spicy pumpkin with a dash of sugar, but it stays close to my skin and is less potent than first sniff. I love this and I think this might be one to try for those who want to love pumpkin but it doesn't seem to work on them. I love it! Edit to add... been a couple days, and I realized, this smells VERY close to Orange Pumpkin Floss, so if you loved that, get this!

Oh yes..... yes yes yes! In the bottle, there is that lovely caramel apple!! It is a nice blast! I have been wanting a nice, strong caramel type scent and all the ones I have tried have been too pale. On my skin, this is ALL caramel and apple. I do get that cookie vibe in there... and can see where someone else detects brown sugar, but this is a perfect caramel scent for me! The apple is there in the background, but that is also very good as apple on me can go either way. If you have tried Sugar Slathered Candy Apple and loved it, then you will LOVE this. To me, this is a stronger version of that!! A keeper for me for sure. Great throw!!!

In the bottle, I get that masculine note I seem to always detect in any dead leaves anything I have tried. I also get a little cacao as well. On my damp hair, it is that same masculine note with the tobacco hanging around. Not getting any caramel or cacao. I was leery about getting this, but was SO hoping it was going to be close to smelling like a CT HG decant I got a while ago that was a beautiful burnt caramel autumn chocolate thing.. but this isn't. Too masculine for me.

This year’s minty double ententre! A sticky, chilly peppermint candy cane with sweet vanilla and an extra jolt of sugar. WOW!! I guess I am the first to review this....bear with me, since this will be my first review ever! Soo...all I can say is WOW! This is a crazy peppermint overload...in a good way! Wet: In the bottle: PepperMINT!! There is a hint of vanilla in there, but to me, very little. On the skin: Still very pepperminty...I keep thinking of the York peppermint patties....the oil is actually COLD on my skin, not just in the scent, but it feels cold!! Crazy good!! The sugar I think keeps it at bay...because even though this is heavy on the mint, as it dries down, I feel the chill on my skin but still get that icy peppermint. It made my eyes water at first, but WOW!!! Talk about crazy good!! 20 Minutes later: Fades on me fast, but in a good way...has become a nice, mellow slightly creamy mint, kind of reminds me of those little pastel colored buttermints, but not too creamy. THIS is a real keeper! Next Day: Tried it again, LOVE the scent, but sadly, about half an hour later, it is completely gone! Maybe my chemistry?

In decant - sniffing this, I get coffee... and not sure if I get boozy out of this, but something there making it Turkish. On skin - I am getting coffee with that cinnamon dusting to it. I do get a liqueur out of this, which, to me, isn't "boozy".... but that thick, richer slightly sweet scent like you get from Bailey's.... but this isn't Bailey's by no means. Dry down - I do get a rich Turkish coffee out of this. This is strong on me, but stays close to the skin. I don't know why, but most of the coffee blends I have tried (except Bah!) tend to have this undertone of something else....can't pinpoint it. It isn't foody or gourmand. Almost....floral. I know, odd... but we all amp differently. I am good with my decant!

Yep... in decant, I can see it needs a good shaking....trying my best to do that in decant form! Sniffing : I am a sucker for anything with chocolate, especially dark chocolate!! I get that and that teeny hint of smokiness. On Skin: Oh wow!! I immediately get this very light and lovely bonfire smell. Now, the bonfire SN was WAY too much for me and I think this is going to be an awesome perfect smoky scent that isn't too overbearing. I get a hint of the chocolate.... I love this combo! It really makes me think of a very distant bonfire..but with chocolate! Dry down: stays the same, but the chocolate note comes out a little more for me.... it is a perfect balance between the 2 notes. I might have to get a bottle of this! If you are someone who has been wanting a nice smoky scent... that isn't too heavy, or smells too much like pipes or cigarettes, get this one! The chocolate is subtle to me, but there.

Maybe it is me, but it is always hard to get a good whiff from a decant. But sniffing, there is a sweet, slightly boozy coffee in there. On skin: The same... there is a light boozy coffee. I love Tiramisu and I detect the rum...and yes, the slight bitter coffee as well. Dry down: Agree with Convallaria.... it stays close to the skin. But is there. Just have to stick my nose a little closer to sniff. But this is a yummy coffee/rum blend. It is a good one for those who like the coffee notes, but maybe wants something not too BAM in your face coffee that can be worn without offending someone next to you.

In the decant I have, I sniff the light boozy part of it.... there is apple there. On my skin though, after a few minutes, I get a perfume-y apple martini. Was hoping this would have been more of a fresh, apple martini....with a zing. But no....just a bit too perfume-y on me sadly.

Yep.... In the bottle - Samhain as we all know and love! To add, I only just tried the perfume oil not long ago because, patchouli to me is like holy water to vampires! However, I have learned that it all has to do with the blend! So, I spritz in my hands and run through damp hair. At first I was horrified... I got.... bug spray?? What the heck? BUT always wait for it... after a few... ahh... there it is!! Wonderful apple and mulling spices. It is actually subtle to me, but oh so wonderful. I also get that just starting to go into Autumn bite to it. Probably that damp woods smell. If you love Samhain, please get this. It doesn't disappoint!

Ripe, bursting, blood red holly berries pricked by sharp, waxy holly leaves. This is for the 2014 version... In Decant: Smells so good....a perfect soft blend of holly berries and leaves. On Skin: Smells the same, and get that wax holly leaf scent....kind of "chap stick" like, but that fades right away! Drydown: This is such a wonderful Christmas blend!!! If you are like me and have been wanting to find a nice holly berry type scent, but most seems to turn to cat urine on you (anything pine type does that) then do not worry! To me, this is a softer version of the 2005 one, but maybe that has to do with it being newer. I might have to get a bottle of this stuff!!!!

OOKY 2013's Ridiculous Halloweenie! Less spooky than Spooky, and nowhere near as creepy as Creepy, this is the scent of lightly spiced pumpkin candies, decorated with thick marzipan, sweetened with buttercream, an decorated with a touch of lemon zest. Yaaay.....the fun and pressure to be the first, here goes: Wet in bottle: Very sweet and almond-y! Kind of reminds me of the almond oil you bake with! On Skin: Turns to a more marzipan scent...like a boozy type marzipan, but not cloying. Drydown: As it warms up, I get a lovely hint of some spice. Almost like a very faint red-hot cinnamon but then the marzipan mingles in. This is a perfect Fall scent. I don't get lemon zest, but maybe that is the "spice-y" I am getting. Warm, spicy, and sweet! ETS: Tested again a couple days later...should have known better, the marzipan/booziness went plastic-y on me!! Not good!

No. An alien autopsy, A cover story. In July of 1947, the US Air Force recovered the crash debris of multiple alien spacecrafts from a ranch close to Roswell, NM. Several aliens survived, but many perished. Both the living and the dead extraterrestrials were transported, in secret, to Hangar 18 at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, along with the flying saucer wreckage. The US government performed a quick, efficient cover-up: witnesses were silenced, and a press release was issued the next day claiming that the fallen craft was a weather balloon. Aliens at high tea: Earl Grey, biscuits, Battenberg cake, and strangely-glowing cucumber sandwiches. Wasn't even going to get this, but I decanted it out to some lovely ladies, and of course, kept a bit for myself. I am not a tea fan and I love to eat cucumbers, but not too sure I want to smell like one! In the bottle - Sniffing this, I get all the notes, tea, sweet cake, and there it is... cucumber! In damp hair - Oh no.... all I seem to be getting is faint tea and cucumber. It's refreshing, no doubt, but not too keen on smelling just the cucumber. Sad. Luckily, it has a low throw on me so I am hoping it will fade away. Oh well... just not for me.

Sniffing in the bottle, I get a blast of boozy mint!! In my hair, it is still a slightly sweet booze laced mint. I don't get cocoa out of this either....I do get a hint of coconut as well, and I agree, this is a nice summery scent, but on the sweet side. The mint was heavy at first on me as well, and did fade a bit, but it is there. Makes me think the scent would be a drink a pirate would enjoy on a beach vacation!! Foodie lovers should love this.... maybe even on-the-fence foodies as well. This ends up being pretty light, but there. Not overpowering at all.

Ruby peppermint, Moroccan white mint, red currant, wild plum, neroli, green tea, and cassis. OOh....the first!! All right... Sniff: In decant....nice, light, minty and a hair fruity! On Skin: Fruitiness fades a bit....there is that same mintiness, but it is turning into more of a menthol. Kind of reminds me of fancy Pine-Sol. Drydown: Stays about the same. Not a strong throw. Very pale mint and a hint of some fruit to it. Kind of not a good explanation, but don't think this is for me. Still reminds me of a sort of cleaner.

So excited to try this... I love coffee notes! In the bottle : very yummy, and a tad sweet, coffee note! Pure coffe!! On skin : This starts out as a bitter yet sweetened coffee. It kind of reminds me of The Worst Pillow. Just a hair less sugary. Dry down : Oh yum... this is a soft, coffee note. There is the bitterness that is the scent of coffee, but this is *quietly* bitter... not sure if that makes sense, but this is not overpowering or has a lot of throw and has a tinge of sweetness with it.... stays close to my skin, but I think this will be a keeper!! Will be fun to see how this ages.

I haven't delved into atmos too much... wasn't sure how I would like them, but I got a partial of this one!! Sadly most of it leaked in the box it came in, but boy did it smell good. I have enough for a couple sprays!! But YES!!! This smells so amazing!! Before I sprayed it and sniffed it, it smells very close to Pumpkin V 2009 to me, but that is ok, because I LOVE that one as well. I get all the notes.... pumpkin, marshmallow, graham crackers, chocolate and a faint smoky smell, but this is all sweet to me! I need to try more atmos now!

Off hand, I can't think of anything..however, if you go to the Lab's website, at the top, in the directory, you can search their expansive list of notes. Click on one and it will bring up BPAL scents (past and present) that has said note in it. At least that way you can see if something comes close to what you are looking for. Hope this helps! Edit to add next to the notes, are themed and character scents as well!

Don't remember if I ever got to try the original version, but here goes for the 2016 on. In bottle - sniffing this, i get the snake oil for sure, but it is faint, but not bad! I think I detect something else, but not sure if it is the copal maybe, I am not sure I know what that smells like! On skin - Lovely!! I get lovely snake oil that I love fresh or aged, but then I think I am detecting the frankincense.... which at times, in other blends, can be too much for me, but maybe because this is listed as white frankincense, it isn't as powerful. Dry down - OOH, I love this!! This is a beautiful blend of SO and the incense. If you love incense blends and SO, you need to get this. This is soft, yet there! Glad I got me some!!

In the bottle - Buttery sweetness. I also get that peanut brittle scent. Caramel-y, but not getting popcorn, which is ok with me. Not a real fan of popcorn scents. On skin - Popcorn note is coming out, but not in a bad way, meaning, other popcorn scents were too buttery which made me queasy. This is more sweet and caramel popcorn. To me, this is what candy corn smells like. Dry down - Oooh.... I think I really like this. It is more caramel / candy corn to me, which is funny because I have tried the other Candy Corn scents and they went....odd on me, this though is sweet and foody, but surprisingly not too cloying. Medium throw. But like was said above, there is that teeny hint of Mother Shub's touch in it! Foody/gourmand lovers should find this!

I got some single note Yules for Christmas and this one was the one I was most excited to try first! In the bottle - sweet, sweet cranberry!! I do get a very slight hint of something "garland-ish". Amazing. On skin - Ok, any cranberry lovers out there, this is a winner! I have tried other scents with cranberry in the list of notes, and something always made it off, but this is just a pure, sweet, and soft cranberry!! Not much of a garland I detect, but there is something there! Medium throw on me, but this is so lovely! Cranberry at it's best!!

How did I not know about this until now!? In bottle: I get zero food. Most mention pancakes, but all I smell is a very, very light grass....or field, if you like. On skin: Still getting that neat field smell....there is something kind of perfume-y there. Dry down: Not sure what I am getting... still not getting pancakes or coffee out of this. I was kind of hoping to, but all it is as of now is a little bit of a cologne and field. Was hoping for more of a foody-ish blend that everyone else was getting. Sad.

In decant: Yep...yummy, sweet pomegranates. On skin: Same.... very nice, and juicy. Pretty much just straight up pomegranates. Dry down: A little smokiness comes out. I think this smells real nice... the smokiness is pleasant... not strong like a tobacco note. It makes the fruit part kind of "dry" to my nose. Seems to have a good throw. No morphing into anything else... pure pomegranate with that touch of smoke, just a touch. If you like pomegranate notes, then you will love this. Simple and true!

Maybe Squirting Cucumber?

Decant from the 2016 version. Never tested original one... Sniffing - it is always hard for me to sniff the decants and get an initial impression. Just too tiny of an opening! I do get the patchouli and something sweet. On skin - Oh yeah.. this is nice. There is the patch note, but it isn't too "hippie" smelling. It warms up and something sweet appears. Others say caramel, but...I don't know...."could be" that but I also get a light, cinnamon... almost like a cinnamon tea kind of scent along with it. Dry down - This is a nice scent. I don't know what muguet smells like, but maybe that is the odd, but pleasant note I am detecting in this. I always think as anything with currant is a darker, fruit scent. I am not getting that either. This is sexy.. I get mostly a sweet patchouli with cinnamon tea and a whiff of tobacco. Low throw on me, but not sure this one is for me.
