Wow...thanks everyone for your input and help!!! Good to know there are great people out here in BPAL forum land to help out!!

OK.. so your Sugar Skull isn't 2008, or 2010 - those looked like this ('08 on the left - photos from TwilightEyes' flickr page): So yours must be from 2004, 2005, 2006, or 2007. I had some old SS bottles, '05 and '06 I think they were, and if I remember correctly both were cobalt bottles, however I swapped them away ages ago and I can't remember now what the labels looked like but your description does sound familiar. Is the bottle blue or brown? ETA: I searched the Sugar Skull review thread, and found this description in a review for the 2005 bottle: "a lady, arm aloft ~ standing amongst flames... with bars in the background " - is that your label? If so, you've got the 2005 one! Edited again to add this, because it might be helpful for future queries - I found that post by opening up the review thread for Sugar Skull then typing 'label' in the search box (search within topic).. the search results then brought up any review in the whole thread that contained the word 'label' . . Awesome!! Yes...that is the one...Thanks so much for your help!! 2005 it is! AND it is a blue bottle to answer your question.

So, again, sorry if this question is in the wrong spot, but I have a bottle of Candy Corn Coated Candy Apple with a label with a witch in red sitting next to a cauldron and a bottle of Sugar Skull with a label with a dark haired woman with a chain on her wrist standing in front of flames....can someone tell me what years these are? I wish the review pages would include pictures! thanks anyone.

It might be a better idea to ask this in the Chatter section under the BPAL FAQ page or in the Speculation thread, but, in short, the three main Walletgeddon LE collections are Weenies, Yules, and Lupercalias, aka Lupes (Lupercalia is the precursor to Valentine's Day). There are also smaller LE collections we can usually depend on being released, like Bards of Ireland in March (we didn't get those this year, but we got the earthquake fundraiser collection instead), April Fool's Day in April, and Anniversaries in November. Then there's *also* the 13 series (I think there was one 13 blend that appeared on two different occasions, but they are typically mildly different) commemorating Friday the 13ths whenever they happen (note: They are only up for 24 hours, so don't wait for reviews if you think you want them!). And then we have the annual Lunar New Year oil. And then there are random surprise small LE collections like the RAINN fundraiser or Paduan Killer Bees, and then there are single surprise LEs like Lo Krathong or Stinky, not to mention Dark Delicacies exclusives that are basically DD-only LEs like Black Lace or Batty and other retail-only exclusives like Pretty Indulgent's various oils, plus Will Call exclusives like Blood Champagne, and WC exclusive giveaways like Hot Buttered Rum, and non-WC event exclusives like Giant Squid for Sakuracon last year (and then there are event exclusives that are given away for free at certain events, like Dungeon Crawl for, um, the Geek Girl Tweetup, if I recall correctly, which I probably don't). Oh, and I almost forgot the forum LEs: We have been getting Lilith scents every September for her birthday, and then there will be just random forum-only LEs popping up unexpectedly like Halloween: Las Vegas and WILF. Oh, and I also almost forget the Post's LEs like Candied Pumpkin or the Echo & Narkissos set. In short, although there are certain times when you can expect certain things (Lupes, 13s, Aril Fool's Day), there are always surprises. If you want to try them all and don't care whether you have a bottle, decant circles are your best friend. By my count, there were over 160 LEs between January and October alone, and that was *before* the Yules and Anniversaries. Edited to brak up the wall o' text. WOW....thanks for the response....overwhelming!! Love the "walletgeddon"....ain't that the truth!!

Ok....couldn't find an answer to my question anywhere here, BUT I have been into BPAL for 5 months now and learned that they put out, yearly, the Halloweenies and the Yules...also the Lunacies (spelling?) every full moon, my question is, are there other LE's released during the year, like, for example, Valentine's Day? Or are others just kind of random? I would like to know so I could be prepared for anything upcoming!! Thanks for any answers on this!!!

A lot of the 2007 bottles had 2 different labels. A "scroll" label and a picture label. I have quite a few of them in my bpal flickr gallery. Here's an example of the "Mirror Mirror" set from 2007 - two of bottles had the pictures and one is just the scroll label: Ahh...ok! Thanks!! Just was curious!! That is the Snow White label I have that you have pictured and the scroll one as well...
-
I think you should wear what YOU like best!! If the guy is going to judge you by the first sniff, in a negative way, then he shouldn't be worth your time!!
-
I am curious about something...maybe someone can clarify! Being kind of new to BPAL and having a few bottles..a while ago I swapped for a Snow White 2007 (love it BTW!!) and I recently swapped for another one from 2007, but both labels are different? Why would that be? They have the same year printed...I would just assume same year, same label art!

Well, I have been into BPAL since this past July and so far, thanks to being on this great forum, I have gotten to try easily 60+ scents, all general catalog ones, and none of them seem to like me. I am with you on the fact that they smell great in the vial, but once on, they seem to go funky...I wouldn't say baby powder on me, but just weird. So, seems to me, my personal favorites that seem to work are, of course, the limited edition scents. I did well with the Halloween ones and so far, I have had luck with the Yules. Normally, foody scents don't work, but BPAL's limited edition foody scents work great because they end up staying true to scent from bottle, on, and later. Hope you find something you like...have you tried other brands like Arcana or Conjure?

So, I have yet to try this on the skin, BUT sniffing it in the bottle, it is very yummy...to my nose, it smells a lot like this year's Pumpkin Latte. BUT this first sniff is sooooo goooood! Can't wait to put it on when my other scent wears off!!! Ok...so I LOVE this...it does smell like Pumpkin Latte at first, but on!! Oh boy..I don't know how they do it, but there is a gingerbread smell, but not only that...it really catches old memories of childhood Christmastime...hard to explain. Funny how each of us can find something different in the same scent..this is one beautiful...Christmas in a bottle!
-
I will let you know...I JUST got my shipping info today, so my order should be here tomorrow!! I am expecting Midnight Mass, Snow White, Lick it Descreetly, and Maison en Pain something something....the gingerbread house one! I also got into a decant circle, so waiting for 6 other decant imps of other yules. Can't wait!!!!
-
Well...I too am not so well versed yet when it comes to BPAL scents, but recently, I got an imp of The Black Tower...that is a general catalog scent and I thought that was more masculine...but not too heavy. I would recommend that!
-
Well, since I am new to BPAL...this is my first time getting some Yule scents. I did swap a while ago for a half bottle of Snow White 2007 and just fell in love with it, so of course I had to get a bottle this year! I bought 3 other bottles along with that one...just by description, so hopefully they will work out too. Can't wait for them to show up!!!
-
Well, I am sort of new myself, but from the scents you listed, those are limited edition scents...ones that only come out only during holidays, like Halloween or Christmas. The ones I recognize as Yule scents are Peacock Queen, Snow White, and Midwinter's Eve, only because those scents are out this year, so I also have to assume since BPAL does not offer imps of LE scents, these were decanted from original bought bottles....hope that makes sense!!!
-
Great!!! I kind of thought they would, but just wanted to make sure! Thanks for the info! ~Anna
-
So, if someone can answer a simple question for me... I just placed my second order ever with BPAL and used Paypal for the first time. Will I get a tracking number when my order ships? Might seem like an obvious and silly question!! Thanks!! Can't wait to get my Yule scents!!

The Lowdown on Incense & Resin - The Best Recommendations
Numanoid replied to Ms. MSGirl's topic in Recommendations
I too am a fan of the incensey type perfumes....I don't like floral too much, so I was recommended Midnight Mass, which I hope comes out this Yule. I tried Midnight Bell ( a Dark Delicacy exclusive) and that didn't work for me. As for non BPAL scents, Arcana's Holy Terror is a wonderful church like incense oil. It doesn't seem to be out this Halloween (unless it is a Yule as well?) But you might like that one if you can find it. -
Ok... I have a question. I have never ordered imps from the lab....yet...so I was looking at the web site and under the "imps Ears" section, it says that GC imps are available for $4 each...ok...BUT then under the FAQ part, it says that you can buy GC imps for $3.50...so can someone tell me how much they really are?

Well, the only Halloweenies I have tried for this year are October 2011, Devil's Night, and The Gorobble, and personally...I am in LOVE with The Gorobble! Bought it on a chance and I have a backup on the way. October is a nice scent...very autumny and sappy. Devil's Night was a miss...just went funky on me!! Hope that helps!!
-
WOW....it is so fun to read how the same scent can be so different on everyone! I love The Gorobble and so glad I took a chance on getting it. I totally smell the burnt marshmallow and the scent lasts for hours on me!!!
-
Well, I am new to BPAL myself. I don't mind foody scents as long as they are not too sweet and creamy smelling. So I purchased The Gorobble in the hopes it wouldn't be that way, and I am SOOO GLAD I got it. It is such a wonderful scent. I might need to buy a back up bottle. It is just like everyone is saying. It is a burnt, crusty, marshmallowy scent, but in a good burnt and smoky way...if that makes sense!! I would highly recommend that one if you are like me and not to sure about the foody scents...this is a total hit!!
-
I got my bottle of The Gorobble yesterday and I am SOO happy I took a chance at getting it. It is a real nice scent!! Smoky and marshmallowy without it being overly sweet or creamy!! There are so many other BPAL scents I want to try, so I don't want to get back ups of this one, so I hope this will be a return scent once gone.... OOOH YUMM!!
