2013 Version Oh my!!! Now, I have been lucky to test other years of Snow White...loved them all!! But, for some reason, this one is....wrong! Sniffing in the bottle, I get almost a urine smell!!! WHHHAAAAT??? Maybe something wrong with me? On Skin: Not good, and it breaks my heart! I LOVE Snow White. I have a small amount of a 2007 bottle left and it is beautiful. This one goes sour on me! Off to sell or maybe swap!!

Wet in bottle: Yep, that eye watering peppermint!!! In a GOOD way!! On Skin: Whoa!! Nasal cleansing peppermint! Very strong, but I like a hefty peppermint, only because it seems any mint just evaporates fast from me! Drydown: Well...the peppermint does settle down now, but it seems to be hanging around! I have tried one other Lick it scents (I think the 2011 one? ) and it just disappeared on me. Not sure if there is something different than past ones, but this does soften to a nice foody vanilla but I still get the mint radiating off of me, but not eye watering anymore! If you are like me and love a crisp mint, but your skin eats it, try this version....just might be the one for you!

In Bottle: VERY juicy plums!! Definitely a heavy "purple" scent! Like when you have dark colored berries that dribble down your hand and stains everything!! On Skin: Oh my....this is one HEAVY scent to me!! Gets crazy when on. I don't detect any kind of snowy, snowball, mint, or slushy anything in this. Don't know if I am confusing the heavy throw of the fruit to it not agreeing with me, but man...this is DENSE on me. Kind of headache inducing!! Dry Down: Still stays the same....I am a foodie lover, but this is a bit much for me. Very purple for sure, but was hoping the cardamom would tame the plum down, but not on me. Sorry, but this one has got to go!!!

In bottle: WHOA...yes, that is some serious cranberry juice!! Tart yet sweet. To me, there is a hint of fizziness, not a lot, just a whisper. On Skin: Very juicy and festive cranberry! Really does make me instantly think of a giant glass punch bowl at a Christmas party filled to the brim! Drydown: This does fade to a lovely and soft cranberry...just pure cranberry. I get an oh so slight powder from it, but not in a bad way. Keeps it tamed down very nicely. Low throw to me, but very festive. Perfect for wear going to the office Christmas party!

Wet in bottle: Rich, butter/lemon frosting, cookie!!!! So far so good!! On Skin: Still get a cookie scent, but the tea comes out just enough to almost make it smell like mint (to my weird nose)Could be the caraway doing that as well. Was afraid of the tea note, since I am not a fan of tea scents. Drydown: Stays pretty much the same...I get a little more of the buttercream frosting. The tea and caraway is very delicate. Medium throw. I think this is a dainty, foodie one...but not "girly". If you are a foodie fan, but don't like the over powering scents that some foodies are, then this will be a winner for you!!

2013 version Wet in bottle: fizzy, berry, and soft pine. As if a Christmas tree was turned into a berry soda! On Skin: Hmm....smells like a berry pine cleaner! Drydown: The "cleaner" scent luckily goes away. I get a very sweet berry scent, but not overbearing. Was hoping for a nice, soft pine that didn't smell like household cleaner, but so far, most of the "holiday pine" scents I have tried either smell that way or fades. This is nice, but getting a slight, slight soapy-ness to it. Sadly, not for me...maybe with age it gets better??

In the bottle: Minty and creamy....very yummy! Like something you want to add to coffee or hot cocoa! On skin: Lovely scent of minty cookies!!! Still creamy and can detect the pomegranate showing up! Drydown: Seems most mints on me just disappear. BUT this still smells very good!! After mint fades, it dries down to a creamy cookie and a hint of the pomegranate. Not over powering but foodie nonetheless! Not 100% sure I love this. Like, yes, but I always need to LOOOOVE a scent to keep it. But this is one for foodie lovers!!

Ok...was hesitant ordering a bottle of this because ALL the notes except the apple one terrified me, but reading the other reviews, I thought, "Why the heck not?" In the bottle: Yummy apples, and yes...like you are in an orchard picking them and a faint scent of dirt, but in a wonderful way, not dirty hippie, but clean dirt, if that makes sense!! On Skin: Very bright apple, with a good throw and yes, that upturned earth smell, but it is very nice! Amazing how Beth does it! It's faint, but there....not sure if I am getting any moss, but that is a good thing. It is just "earthy" enough without it being DIRT! Drydown: This is a wonderful scent...kind of reminds me of the apple note in Snow, Glass, & Apples, but not as strong. At least on me, SG&A was too much on me. This has good throw, but not 100% sure it is for me...seems the apple notes either fade on me or amp to the point of almost floral. Verdict: If you like earthy scents and/or SG&A, you will love this!

In the bottle: Yummy and spicy gingerbread cake...almost a cinnamon-y scent to me! On Skin: OOh...no cinnamon (thank goodness, was worried) but as other stated, it is like a sexy gingerbread cake. Drydown: Can start to smell the Snake Oil...I think this will be beautiful with age since it is wonderful NOW!! Both mingle so well together!! Hoard worthy for sure!!

Sniff in decant: A hint of patchouli...but get the light, sweetness of the vanilla and coffee!! On Skin: Uh oh....was afraid of the patchouli note!! When will I learn! This doesn't go well on me. The sweetness is gone in a flash and left with patchouli. Dry down: Kind of odd, but on me, this actually gets stronger. Don't know if it is because the patch note is not a good one, but gets a bit like a heavy floral-y patchouli on me. So, was hoping the food-y notes would overpower, but didn't, so this isn't for me. Glad I didn't buy a bottle blindly!

I am with you Urban....when I recommend, I try to let it be known what is a GC and an LE scent!! It can be confusing to a newbie. I remember when I first joined the forum, I was here for months before I found out about the Trading Post and being able to find goodies there.....so I get where you are coming from!!

Wow...thought someone else would be first, so here goes... Wet in the bottle: Yep...yummy apples. Reminds me of how Poisoned Apple smells in the bottle. On Skin: Ooh...very tart green apple. Does smell like a softer version of the original SG&A. A little floral-y but not as strong as the original either. Drydown: Moderate throw...lighter version to me than original. Apple-y but not in an over-the-top sweet fruit scent. Is less "snowy" too. It is nice, but not sure it is for me. Have to let it settle maybe!

If you can find it, Bah! is a wonderful coffee scent: "Thick Turkish coffee spiked with whiskey, with a little bit of mocha to soften the bitterness." I am not a booze fan when it comes to scents, but this one doesn't give off a heavy booze note!! You might also like these: The Turkish Village: "Thick Turkish coffee, cardamom pods, Damascene roses, and buhur." Pumpkin V 2009: "Pumpkin, chocolate, coffee bean, vanilla bean, and hazelnut." Good luck!!!!!!

Hello and welcome!!! I had Sprinklecake once and I loved it, but it faded real fast on me....BUT you might like Detestable Putrescence....described as "melty vanilla ice cream" and to me, it was more a vanilla cake like scent. You can find it under "Gris Grimly" section on the website! It's a GC scent!!! Good luck! -
First off...cute label!! Sniff from bottle: Yep...buttery raw pumpkin with a hint of spices. On Skin: Uh oh...buttery note leaves and I have a raw pumpkin left, and not in a good way. It goes real funky on me. A little plastic-y and...florally?? What the?? Drydown: Still not good...no spices, no foodie-ness for me, just....odd. Some note in here doesn't like me. Hours later: It gets nice...there are the spices, but can't wait that long to enjoy it...off to the swap pile.

Ginger scents & the different types of ginger notes
Numanoid replied to Lorna Brigid's topic in Recommendations
What Dee said!!!! I was able to get a couple of those Choco Espresso Gingerbread imps a while ago and it was SOOO AMAZING! Was asking the Lab if they would make that in bottle form!! BUT the Milk Choco, Cardamom, Rum, & Ginger Truffle might be a bit easier to find...I have a half bottle of that and LOVE that one as well!!! Even though it is Milk Choco, it is very lovely....might be just what you are looking for! -
I love leather scents, but could never find one that ended up smelling a bit too masculine for my tastes, but Western Diamondback is AHHMAZING!! BUT it is VERY hard to find right now...fingers crossed that it will come back with the Carnival, but in my opinion, I also LOVE Snake Oil...fresh or aged, and I actually don't get any SO from WD. It is a soft, suede like scent that is just strong enough to have a good throw but not overpowering and end up smelling like a dude!! As a genderqueer person, smelling like dude is not an issue for me... I have a lot of scents in the Carnival that I would love to see back, so if it makes a reappearance, I'll get a decant of it. Ok.....then dude it up!!! But def try WD if it comes back...I think you will love it!!! I know I will be getting me some if it does!!

The only scent I have with neroli in it is last years BPTP Orange Pumpkin Floss (Pumpkin candyfloss with neroli, pink grapefruit, blood orange, and petitgrain.) OH MY I am very much in love with this. I try not to use it too much in fear I won't find it anymore, but it is a lovely, cozy kind of orange scent....been wearing it lately while Weenie stalking!!
-
Thanks for letting us know your thoughts on the couple bottles you tried!! I blindly ordered Snakes in the PP and OOKY, so glad to know there is no veggy pumpkin scent...LOVE the more pumpkin-y pie-y spicy-y kind!! CAN'T WAIT for my order!!
-
Well, in just a few days, the Weenies (Halloween) limited edition scents will go live at the BPAL website....there seems to always be some lovely, foody, autumn, pumpkin-y scents!!
-
Yep....can't really add more than what is above!! Very milk chocolate!! Smooth...like a nice cool glass of chocolate milk!! Pure and simple!! I think this is GREAT alone or also would be a great layering note! This is a must for you foodie lovers!!!!
-
Ooh....this is a nice one!! Wet in decant: A sort of nice spicy/floraly scent. Not in a bad way...I am not a floral fan, but this smells good!! On: No floral at all (whew) but is a dusty kind of spiciness....not overbearing in any way. Like what a sweet, old ladies purse might smell like! Drydown: Gets a little dustier....cobwebbier....with still a barely there bit of sweet spice. Not a lot of throw, on me....I don't know what the original smells like, but this is nice. Not sure if it's for me, but for you if you like dusty/spice type scents!

Buttermilk pancakes with boysenberry syrup and goat butter! Been wanting to try this, so found a partial bottle to try.... In the bottle: first sniff, I get a hint of lovely maple and butter...but it is in no way overpowering! Wet: Whoa!! Crazy how that smells JUST like a grain type, fresh pancake. But no maple or butter smell ON me. Drydown: Still that grainy pancake, but plain...nothing on it. Was hoping for a bit more sweeter scent. About 15 minutes later, the grainy scent fades and there is a tiny hint of maple and butter. It turns out real nice, but hard to wait that long for the foodie-ness of it to emerge. Not a lot of throw, but it is a fun scent!!
