Ah, now this is the kind of scent I expect out of BPAL. Very unusual and downright dangerous smelling Fresh on it smells like something is on fire. BBQ, a house, I dunno. Whatever it is you better find out soon, just in case you need to call the fire dept. How in the holy heck does Beth DO that? As it dries, the burning smell calms down but there's still a smoky note hanging around. And a sort of soil-ish note. There is definitely another familiar note coming out but I can't figure out what it is. Some kind of wood, I think. Brimstone is my first foray into this family of scents. I'm anxious to see how it compares with Djinn. I couldn't wear this often, but when Fall comes 'round again I will be definitely digging it out! This also makes me curious about Tarot:Death. And I just got a whiff of the "boulder" smell! How wonderfully bizarre!

Wet on my skin, lots and lots of flowers. Lillies, I'd guess As it dries down something orange-ish comes out more and blends with the flowers. This is very nice if you like florals! My BPAL adventures are leading me to believe that I'm definitely not a floral lover, though

Sexy, Smutty, Seductive, Provocative... It's All in Here

The two scents that my husband has really loved on me were Zombi and Chimera. Oh, and the ever popular Snake Oil, but less so. -
Fresh, clean bamboo, followed by lovely tea notes grounded by what I suppose is the Oude. What a great scent! I'm really glad I took a chance on this one because it's pretty much perfect for me. Everyone else has said it better than I could, but if you like the notes listed you should try this out. It's going to be perfect for Spring and Summer ETA: I wore this again for the first time since January and it is indeed perfect for this time of year. Not only that, but I put it on at 7:00 this morning and it's now 7:00 in the evening and it's still wafting around. Really lovely!

Ahh, now this is nice. I have never had Absinthe, only Pernod. So I don't know if it's an accurate rendition of the smell. First on I get a strong hit of anise with a complicated mixture of lemon and herbs. I have a wormwood plant in my yard so I know what it smells like and I'm not getting much of that smell in this. What this smell reminds me strongly of is a shop that sells old-fashioned candy in one of those Gold Rush era tourist towns. Licorice, horehound drops, lemon drops. Or maybe the place down the street from there that sells Sasparilla. I feel like I'm *there*. Probably because I grew up in just such a place This is a very evocative and comforting scent to me. Must try it on my husband.

Another freebie from the lab to try out. Thanks labbies! First on my skin, roses and honeysuckle(?). Oooh, nice! Then after about 5 minutes I seemed to be getting a bunch of Lily of the Valley. Probably my least favorite flower scent along with Lotus. Yep, all LotV all the time now. And strong! No rose or anything else. Damn! This is definitely not for me

Yowza! Where's the dirt and moss? When I put this on I get a huge blast of jasmine and maybe some other flowers. I almost thought I got some hyacinth. But although there is a faint hint of *something* behind the flowers it isn't coming through very strongly. Some herbs? Still not getting any dirt after about 15 minutes. Still, if you like jasmine this is a nice scent. I'll try it again in Spring and see how it works for me then. ETA: After wearing this a 3rd time I'm finally getting the dirt/moss note. It isn't as strong as in Zombi, which is too bad, but it's there. Perhaps it will intensify as the imp ages.

Fenris Wolf starts out with a really strong woodsy masculine splash and fooled me at first. I liked it but it seemed pretty "guy" to me. My husband tried it and thought it was too sweet for him. So I tried it again and it's a winner. Not too masculine at all but very warm smelling and comforting with the amber and musk notes coming out after a bit. My only complaint is that it doesn't last long enough on me! ETA This layers nicely with Blood Amber.

When I first put this on I get a big hit of unfamiliar spices and vanilla. After an hour or so it becomes a very rich smelling vanilla. And it lasted alllll day on me. My main complaint with other vanilla scents I've tried over the years is that they don't last very long so I'm really happy with this one

The Cracked Bell has a promising start when it first goes on my skin. Incense and something that really *is* reminiscent of blood. Very subtle to my nose but there when I look for it. I don't have to slather this at all and it lasts all day on me. No need to re-apply at all. But after wearing it about 5 times now I've decided that there's a perfumy element to it that I just don't feel comfortable in. It's quite pretty, actually, and reminds me of a nice perfume you'd get at a department store. This will be the perfect scent the next time I want to get dressed up but it won't be something I wear often. EDIT I wore this again a couple of days ago and loved it. Not too perfumey at all, just dragons blood and incense. Very nice! Body chemistry really is weird.

I love this. Every time I wear it I get something a little different. Sometimes the the fir note leads the charge and hangs around. Sometimes the tobacco/dried leaves scent is on top. Somewhere underneath is a bit of apple and what I think is the patchouli and spices. Maybe it isn't that the scent is different each time so much as my nose is learning to pick out the different notes and layers. It lasts a long time, too. But I re-apply it anyway because I love the first rush of notes I get when I put it on! The drydown is very nice as well. Kind of...fuzzy and warm. I'm glad I took a chance on a 5ml of this. If it comes out again next year I'm definitely going to be getting another bottle. Edit: Hours later hubby comes home, takes a big whiff and says "mmmm, baby powder. Really nice, spicy babypowder". Wha? So, noses are weird.

As soon as this oil is on my skin it blooms into this really interesting, unusual scent. I can smell the lavender and the lemon verbena along with the rosemary. I'm not sure about the neroli. The incense smell, which I guess is the Frankincense, holds it all together and grounds it. It lasts for hours and hours and keeps wafting this gentle, herby/incense scent, very subtle and mysterious smelling I think Arcana would be a good scent all year 'round, with the possible exception of summer. This will be one of my 5ml purchases!

Dirt, moss and roses, very well balanced to my nose. The smell of this reminds me of kneeling in the wet dirt and planting a rose bush in my yard. I can even smell the moss on the big oak tree! It wafts up at me all day, scents my clothes and makes me very happy On rainy, gloomy days it evokes a wistful, slightly melancholy vibe and on sunny days it's like a herald of Spring. There is nothing I don't like about this scent, and my husband love it on me. And now that I have a 5ml I can stop worrying about using my imp up!
