  1. THE GOLDEN APPLE OF THE SUN
Golden apple with amber, hibiscus, carnation, frankincense, golden spiced tea, ginger, and champaca flower.

As soon as I saw Golden Apple of the Sun, I absolutely had to have it. I bought a full bottle completely unsniffed and I do not regret it one tiny bit. Golden Apple is a little confounding, but in the most amazing way. It smells clean, crisp and warm all at the same time. In the bottle, the crispness is more apparent and the apple skin is stronger. On the skin, the florals and the amber come through more. The way this oil smells is perfectly in unison with the way that it smells. Overall, I give this scent an A for Apple-y Amazingness.

  2. How on Earth can I possibly add anything worthwhile to the awesome reviews that are already here? Black Opal paints a very vivid picture in my head. Lounging around the house in a big, comfy sweater in late autumn waiting to be ravished by the man/woman/person/etc. of your dreams. I'll say it: Black Opal is just straight up dead sexy. I guess it's the vanillayness of it, as vanilla is reported to be a scent that men especially are attracted to. I don't smell any coconut, which is a good thing, as I find coconut in general to be gross and it would be a major libido killer. Black Opal is the scent of a woman who isn't afraid of her sensuality, in my opinion at least. It's not too in-your-face, but it has a lot of allure to it. This is a great date night scent for the woman who knows exactly what she wants.

  3. Hey guys! I'm looking for two different types of sorta fruit blends.

    1. Fig/fig leaves. My awful neighbors have this splendid, huge fig tree and every time I go out on the deck I smell the leaves mostly, but later in the year I can smell the fruit too. Is there any BPAL that has a mix of fig and fig leaf? Or anything that might come close to replicating the scent of figs/leaves/warmth? This sounds like a really good non-spicy fall scent to me.

    2. Black currant without too much sweetness. I adore the currant notes in Eat Me, but I want something that tones down the sweetness. Maybe currants (esp black) with some kind of green note, or a smoky note? I know that there are a lot of BPALs that have black currant as a note, but after reading so many scent descriptions and reviews my head is about to explode.

I'm sorry if these questions are very redundant. Thanks! ^_^

  4. This is my first review here, so bear with me. (I'm an old hand at writing reviews on a site like MUA, but fragrance reviews are much more involved than makeup reviews.)

Poisoned Apple was the number one thing I wanted to try from BPAL. I will admit that part of the allure is the name, but I also like apple scents that aren't too fruity or sweet. I have no idea how old the imp that I got is as it was a very thoughtful gift from one of my new BPAL forum friends. In the vial, Poisoned Apple is pretty much an apple scent with a touch of *something else." It doesn't smell like red apples to me at all though, it smells more like tart pinkish apples (ie Honeycrisp or Pink Lady) or green apples (ie Golden Delicious.) However, I like the tartness of it. On my skin, the undercurrent of darkness comes out a lot more. The best way I can describe the way that Poisoned Apple smells on me is that there was a nearly-ripe apple that fell onto a bed of leaves and dirt. (I understand that there are no dirt or leaf notes in this particular blend, but when it all comes together that's the scent-image that I get.) After a little while the smoke does come out a bit more, but it's still a dirty-smoky-bright apple scent. The juxtaposition of ideas (dark, dirty, smoky with bright, fresh and crisp) is just so beautiful and appealing. The Lab did a superb job of balancing Poisoned Apple just right so it's neither too fruity or too macabre. A++ in my book. :D

    Edited to reduce redundancy.

  5. I've tried searching but nothing is really coming up. Does anyone know of a BPAL oil that smells like You Snap the Whip body butter? It smells a lot like The Comforter bath bomb/solid perfume, but a little darker. (The only hit that came up for The Comforter was Blue Phoenix proto.) So if there's anything else, even anything that would nicely compliment YSTW, I'd be happy to give it a go. Thanks!

    Bewitched might work.

I will look for that one, thanks so much!
