Vivid flashes of dazzling electricity: white mint, white tea, white ginger, a jolt of yuzu, and electric green lime! This is so refreshing! This will be PERFECT for those hot days in the summer! Chilly mint with a fresh splash of grapefruit and lime! It doesn't quite smell like Lush's calacas, as for me, the yuzu grapefruit note outshines the lime. This is awesome!

This is super sexy...resiny, dark, musky, and a hint of sweetness. I may buy a backup of this one!!

If you missed Eldritch Dark, and love red musk and rose go buy this now! It's seriously amazing!!! It's super sexy and the two strongest notes for me were red musk, rose, and a touch of sweeter patchouli... Love!!!

This is stunning - I get the pine wet. And in the bottle, but on my skin, I mostly get brown musk, carnation, and Clove! I have nothing like this in my collection, and I love it! I didn't slather which could be why I am not picking up much leather or vanilla (the the vanilla could be what's adding that "snuggle" factor. I love this, and I think it will only get better with age!

Omg, this is awesome! I have tricksy bathoil, which comes across more woodsy patchouli with the undertone of sweet honey - the perfume though is actually quite different to my nose (though aging could be a factor?) there is almost a floral undertone to the honey in this - and fear not, the patchouli isn't over the top at all. This is stunning! It's right up there with the Illustrated woman in terms of comforting patchouli and honey with just a little something extra

Similarities Between BPAL Scents - GC and general discussion
sharkdiver replied to Shollin's topic in Recommendations
Just curious as to the similarities between Sudha Segara and Vespertillo Proterus? I have VP which is a creamy vanilla/spicy ginger that to me, kind of smell like a Gingerale float made with vanilla ice cream - akin to creamsoda, but have never tried SS...I am wondering if they would be too similar? I'm kind of hoping it randomly gets tossed in as a frimp on one of these orderes...LOL can anyone compare the two for me? -
ITB and wet on skin - this was mostly a pumpkin spice single note - not a buttery pumpkin, (or at least not the same buttery pumpkin from Jack) but more of a pumpkin pie without the crust, and a bit more spice. As it dries down, the morocco I know and love starts to assert itself alongside the pumpkin - the pumpkin becomes more creamy, but not quite vanillic (at least not yet- I'm dying to see what will happen as this ages!) and the musky incense that I love so much becomes more apparent mingled with the pumpkin. If you love morocco, and you love pumpkin, this is seriously a no brainer!!! It's sort of in the cusp of foody and gourmand - to me personally, it wasn't quite sweet enough to kick it firmly into the foody category.

This is gorgeous- I can't decide which I like better, haunted houses or Phasmophobia - At first sniff and wet on skin, the wood note to my nose almost has a patchouli like quality similar to that in Banshee Beat - there is also that pure white shimmery floral peeking through, which is just lovely! This is way less sharp then phasmophobia, so floral haters, do not worry! The wood and dust notes take center stage in this one, with that soft floral lingering perfume of an entity floating in the background. This is really evocative!

Lycanthrope hit the nail on the head - this is an amber/lemon verbena/ black musk sort of scent - it's gorgeous! If you are a fan of Haunted, definitely check this out, it's like like Haunted's lemony cousin! Love!

This is stunning! It is a very ethereal white floral that I can only describe as "Haunting" - it has great throw, and every now and again you catch Whiffs of it here and there and it reminds me of catching the scent of ghostly perfume lingering in the air. I can see a very fine line though for those who can't do white florals and that it may turn soapy on their skin. I didn't get soap, but I can see how some might.

This is a very mature scent - the amber has a perfumy (though not a cloying) quality, that has the overtone of Myrrh. The pomegranate is in the background as a nice fruity backdrop, though it's not a sweet or foody Pom, it's almost dry in a way like a fruit wine (without the booze note) Lovely!

I love this! It's much softer than October, softened mostly by the sweetness from the maple...but it's not overly sweet by any stretch. It smells almost like a light floral leafy smell, meets a commercial perfume - it's stunning! So far this is my favorite of the weenies!
-
if you like foody lemon, I also recommend: White Chocolate lemongrass, coriander and Almond cream - from the 2012 box of chocolates (Valentine's day)...it was an LE Shub-Niggurath - it smells like warm gingerbread and lemon shortbread cookies to my nose with an incensy dry down. This is a GC!!

Those all sound like great choices to me! Have fun!!

I think Black Opal is as close to the perfect vanilla SN as it gets for me...The Girl also falls just behind black opal for that. They are both very HTF though :/

Oh I like this!! I think the combo of the oppanax, opium tar, and Patch are translating in my brain to small like Nag champa incense! I get a bit if sweetness from the vanilla, though not a lot...it's just right! And the geranium gives it an almost herbal/green aspect that peeks out from behind the incense like notes. I also get a bit of dustiness from the cedar, but it's an afterthought on my skin... Not being amped at all. I suspect this will age superbly!

Grabbed this from Etsy, and OMG...this is gorgeous! I wasn't sure about it at first, as it goes on a little sharp, like maybe there was some Orris root in there (which has a sharp perfumy aspect on my skin) but after about 10 minutes, this softened WAY down and the sharpness went away and that beautiful vanilla/tonka musk came out to play! This is lovely, and I'm so glad I got a bottle!

Also, for those looking for wood notes, Dionysia is If you love Mahogany. also for mahogany, I would suggest the Bloody Bannister, and for Atmo spray, Mahogany hall (very similar to Dionysia)

To me, this didn't smell like banana so much, as maybe banana leaf or an unripe (non sweet) banana - more than anything this smells a lot like the coconut vanilla bean and Tiare hair glass...there's definitely Tiare in this blend! There is a bit of vanilla too, but it's not overly sweet...this layers fantastically with the CVBT hair gloss! Haumea v1? Really I've been dying to find something close to CVBT! I looked up reviews but looks like there are only 2 and they both say bananas. That's why I bought it...I was hoping for Bananas like the reviews said, but to me, it's more similar to CVBT Hair gloss...with just a touch of green (banana leaf?) it doesn't smell like bananas though, to me at all, unless we're talking green non-sweet unripe bananas. But I would equate that with banana leaf...If I had an empty vial, I would totally send you a decant! It's very summery/beachy IMO.

Haumea proto from Etsy is a very tropical scent that reminds me a lot of the coconut, vanilla bean, and tiare hair gloss. Obatala reminds me of Hawaiian tropic suntan lotion!

Hands down, aged Elegba Or Aged Death Adder!

I answered my own question: Dionysia from Carnival Diabolique has a very Mahogany Hall feel! -
This smells like Haloes and Underpants had a baby!

I never reviewed this one, but funny story: When this first arrived fresh from the lab, I couldn't wait for my oils to settle before opening them to sniff. When I opened Evening stock, the very tip of my nose actually got too close to the bottle, and a dab of oil got on there...just the tiniest minute amount. So I wiped it off, and carried on checking out my other oils. about 10 minutes later, I had to go outside for something, and I caught this whiff of the most gorgeous blooming flowers I've ever smelled...sort of like when lilacs are in bloom, and the breeze sometimes carries the scent. I searched EVERYWHERE in my yard for the flowers that were producing this intoxicatingly beautiful scent...and couldn't find them anywhere. It was at that point, I realized I was catching whiffs of the Evening stock oil that touched the tip of my nose! I felt like a moron, but I smelled incredible
