At first I get something a little plastic and spice, but that fades really quickly. Afterwards I just get gardenia (which I do like) and lilac and a really really faint touch of rose. This scent has a bit of a wet, green smell to it. There're no discernable plums or berries, so if they are there, they're in the waaaaay back. I got really excited by the name, but alas, no blood for Moldy here, lol. ETA: If you like this you may like La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente.

I'm typically very wary of anything with vanilla in it, but I adore The Bow and Crown of Conquest. Wet it's a very strong, billowy vanilla note that really envelopes me. Leather and cedar are the next notes that come up on my skin. While I love this blend I always hope that the sage, carnation and lavender play a bigger role. It's still gorgeous, though, especially since the majority of vanilla blends don't do much for me.

I know the description says that it's a "prelude to mourning," but I actually find Pink Lace to be quite sexy- more like pink lace in lingerie. I mean, there's strawberries and vanilla, cognac, tobacco, roses and incense. Sounds like a pretty sultry blend to me. This blend is awesome and I feel like I get a little bit of everything all at once. Fortunately for me there's nothing plastic about the strawberries, they're more like a sumptuous dessert variety. I think that this is the best use of champaca I've tried so far from lab. A++ and I need to get me a bottle or two.

Yum, this is gorgeous! Wet it reminds me of the smell of rich, luxurious cigars in a wooden box. The clove is really lovely in this and the vanilla gives it a subtle sweetness. I adore Mourning Lace! I'm so glad I tried it and must get more immediately.

Wonderful spicy goodness! Paduan Killer Swarm is just a great creamy, sweet melange with kicks of clove and ginger. I don't get any strong licorice out of this, thank goodness. There is some, though, and it gives it just a bit of a root beer quality. Huzzah! If Smiling Spider was too strong for you, this creamy clove blend might be the answer. This is wonderful!

Wet, Arcana smells just awful on me. There's something funky, woody and plastic going on all at once. It starts fading down and the herbal qualities come out- I can smell the rosemary and lavender. Once it actually dries it's pretty light. Oh, and GORGEOUS. It's a beautiful woody, herbal, slightly sweet scent. I can't believe what I had to smell while it was wet to get this, though!

Morning glory vines twisting around a patch of rampion, carrot, and parsley, with monkshood, hemlock, elfwort, sage, wormwood, and mandrake. You had me at rampion!!! I really enjoy green, herbal scents which is why I was excited to order this. On application it reminded me A LOT of Black Hellebore, which I was not a fan of, but this one is a morpher and dried down to a nice floral with a wet quality to it. I honestly thought it'd be a lot weirder than it actually is.

Shoot, I tried this one a few days ago and only remember my impression of it: If you like Smokestack then you'll like this. Isle of Demons is not as heavy as the former, which is why I'm a fan of it. You get the awesome smoky, cresote, brimstone kind of scent without it overwhelming you. I really don't recall having smelled anything green at all- just wonderful, dark and volcanic notes.

Yay! Fresh from the Lab , but unfortunately only about 1/2 full . I've been getting a lot of misses with my imps so this is a welcome success! I love me some orange, but a lot of times it's featured in very peppy, awake, fresh, etc perfumes. Not so in Ravenous! This orange is sexy and rich with hints of vanilla. The patchouli is not hippy at all and it gives it a wonderful depth. Hoorah for an awesome use of orange!

I don't get a lot of the florals with this one. Just like previous reviews have mentioned it gets a little soapy, but for me it's a clove kind of spice with musky leather and teensy bit of the orange. This is a heavier perfume, so I think it's more suited for evenings. This kind of scent is not usually for me, but it's definitely a winner and I'd love it on a man.

... Black Annis' perfume is a mixture of damp cave lichen and oak leaf with a hint of vetiver, civet and anise. All the listed notes are ones that are okay-ish to me in other blends, but together it's just too strong for me. The vetiver is sharp and the licorice smell is strong. This is perfume that can definitely be masculine or feminine, but either way it's not for me.

On wet this starts off smelling like soil to me. The rose catches up and becomes a little powdery and in addition I start getting the lilies and something faintly green. Rose is my one of my favorite notes, but this really isn't a stand out scent for me.

I was wondering if Vice could rival my love for Bliss, but they're really two entirely different animals. In Vice, I get mostly sweet and thick cherries with a tiny bit of orange. I can't really pick put much of the dark chocolate but it's there, and in the end it's a subtle scent. Though I really love the Labs cherry note I'm going to pass on Vice because it's not interesting enough to me.

I really like patchouli but it's rare that it's something that I can pull off. This is a really nice blend of dark patchouli and orange. The carnation is great and gives it a nice balance so that it's not too sweet and not too earthy. I really like this! I think that I'd really like this as a room scent.

Wowza, Bluebeard does NOT like me. It smells like a smoky plastic tarp or this old army camping tent my family used to have. I couldn't do more than 5 minutes before it was time for a little wrist bath. ETA: I just tried a different imp and it smells like pepper and violet. So weird!

I'm an avid tea lover, so I was really looking forward to this. I actually bought this one a few years ago, and I didn't recall my impresion of it so I thought is give it another whirl. UnfortunatelyThe Dormouse is unspectacular on me and pretty much stays a green tea note with a touch of soap most of the time.

This is definitely evil Dorian with a bit of lime! I'm not sure how else to put it, so I think I'll leave it there.

Strawberry Lemon Drop Candy Cane
Innocuousmold replied to TheIceMaiden's topic in Black Phoenix Trading Post
Strawberry and lemon are two of my favorite scents. This is definitely super sweet, thick and candy-like! It's got a bit of an effervescent quality to it and I think that it goes well together. This one fades to almost just the strawberry after a bit, though, and the mint never really lasts on me. -
I believe that there is some bergamot in here, because when I first applied it I thought of tea. Not that this smells like tea, lol. The ozone and incense are doing something terrible on my skin. I think someone mentioned a peanut oil smell and I have to agree. Time to wash this one off.

Yes! Now this is my kind of perfume. It's so lovely and clean and herbal. I just tried out Manila, which was just so the opposite of this. It smells like a really expensive bar of quality soap, but it's not "soapy". The citrus/jasmine/lavender is a hit on my skin. It did start off quite medicinal but within 15 minutes it balanced out very nicely. I probably won't be buying a bottle of this, but I will keep my imp when I want a refreshing break from my daily scents.

I didn't recognize the banana at first. Weird, 'cause everyone else seems to get it really strong. On application Manila just smells like jackfruit, which to me just smells like every tropical fruit in a blender; pineapple, orange, guava... just really super sweet. The coconut comes out a little bit later and eventually the scent relaxes into a banana (finally lol) and coconut spice with some wood in there as well. It's nice, but I'm not really into the super sweet and fruity blends.

Thanks, Altaira!

I've had this imp from '09 and I'm finally testing it, haha. Ouija reminds me a lot of Black Cat. It's super minty on me, though I don't get a lot of floral in this whereas Black Cat gave me a rose impression. On drydown there is a sour note in there somewhere- I notice that a lot in many of the perfumes that have a Victorian description. Maybe it's the teak or rosewood? I get the same vinegar-like note in Pulcinella and Teresina, Wilde and Lucy's Kiss as well. All in all I say this is a miss for me.

I think that this is probably the best place to put this question, and if it's not I'm sorry in advance! Anyway, I was just wondering what the LE cycle is- which ones are reoccurring throughout the year. I know of course about Lunacy, Lupercalia, Weenies and Yule, but what about other things like the Moths and Butterflies or the Bards? Are those annual as well? If someone could write up a little thing of the LE cycle I would really appreciate it.

Pickles on an old wood bench. This is a very sour, vinegar-like smell on me. I do get a bit of rose in the background, but yeah... pickles and cedar when wet. After it dries it's less intense and I get a nice cedar, which I love, but I still smell pickles floating around in there. Not for me, but fun to try. Edit: Man, I really wanna love this. It's like I can smell past the pickles to the beautiful rose and wood. Like I sat down to watch Pulcinella and Teresina, and the lights dim and a hush falls... but them some dude is smacking on a Vlasic right next to me and I think, "Seriously? Do I have smell this the whole show?"
