I am completely enamoured of Queen of Clubs and am grateful to have found a full bottle as this is probably my favorite thus far. It's a beautifully complicated blend! earthy and warm, but creamy at the same time - vanilla, amber, a touch of incense and something sweet (fruity sweet?). It's inviting and cozy and sexy at the same time. This is one of those scents that I always vaguely wished for but could never find out in storebought perfumeland. It's gorgeous

I got my hands on an imp of this and I'm glad I did. I feel like just another voice in the chorus on this one, but it's definitely smells pink. To me, more like a hot pink -- it's odd - this is one of the first scents that I've tried that I can't describe in terms of "smells like this, smells like that"--it's a happymaking scent and also works well in the oil burner.

When I first put this on, all I smelled was a BIG white flower smell; I'm guessing gardenia? I thought maybe someone sent me an imp of flower moon accidentally. After about an hour (or slightly less), the floral went away and the honey that I was waiting for finally made an appearance. I'll probably trade this away; I prefer the less floral, honey-laced Delphi.

This is the first scent that I've tried that simply didn't work for me. It went from POWDER to powder to powder with a little tiny othersmell...then back to powder. Ah well, at least there are a zillion other ones to try

I've worn this about four times and I just can't decide if I like it or not. The iris is wonderful (i've found I really like iris) but after a bit of time, the scent gets a bit powdery -- the thing is, the powder seems to work within the context of Florence, but I'm not sure it's for me. I like it, but I'm not sure I like it enough. Probably will swap.

My husband is wearing this one even as we speak...he's really liking it a lot, and i have to say it's bringing out a bit of the in him On him, it's a robust minty smell, with a bit of sweetness. The bourbon is there, but i'd never be able to identify it as such without the description. He says it's a keeper for him. We'll see if he wants a bottle as he works through the imp.

(K, the hubby, tried it last night; I'm wearing it today) I say: In the bottle, minty and antiseptic On K it smells: Minty, then violets. K thinks it smells: cold When pressed for details, he said: first it's cold, then it's SAD. They say: Electrifying, mechanized and chilly -- the scent of crushed blooms strewn on cold metal. Lush violet and neroli spiked hard with eucalyptus and a sliver of mint. K was not so hot on this one, if only because he was wearing a scent that was cold and sad. We decided it was evocative of late february/early march in the snowy climates we grew up in, but on a day that was sort of rainy/freezing rain. K said that it's sort of like the smell of Sigur Ros music. This one is not specified as gender neutral or masculine, but I didn't tell him that (but it makes the Sigur Ros analogy even more apt, imo) I'm wearing it today, and I get the violet more than the mint. I'm thinking it's a good "pale and delicate" winter gothy scent. Not sure if this is for me, however, I'd like to try it again in a few months. Definitely doesn't feel like an autumn scent. Edited to add: I do like it after wearing it for a few hours...it's evolved into a very nice "faded pressed violets found inside an old book" smell.

Ok. I got my husband totally hooked with Nero.

Here is sort of an off-the-wall suggestion, but I really like Hamadryad as well: Delphi I'm still pretty new to all this, so I'm not real familiar with the catalog yet, but Delphi has the same kind of slightly non-flowery sweet smell combining with a woodsy smell. So, it's different, but sort of the same, I guess Anyway, you might want to check it out -
Ok - I've officially enabled my husband, K, thanks to Nero NERO I say: In the bottle, strong and piney. On K it smells: Starts off with a strong pine smell, then over time transforms into eucalyptus (maybe that's the rosemary?), then a clove smell, then fades into a somewhat light clove/lemony smell. K thinks it smells: like summertime camp When pressed for details, he said: like being a kid, hanging out alone in the wooden cabin in the middle of the pinetree forest at summer camp. They say: The pinnacle of power, poisoned by sin and indulgence - this is our homage to Classical Roman debauch. Rosemary, bay, pine and a touch of lemon. K loved it; was doing the compulsive wrist-smelling thing on throughout the evening, exclaiming, "oh! it's changing into something else now..." then offering his wrist to me. So, we'll probably end up with a big bottle of this, which is fine, because it smells really nice on him. Also, I'm pleased because at least now he understands why I'm so fascinated by the little olfactory journeys some of the scents take me on.

First time I tried it, I was a little, "i'm not sure about this" - a week's worth of aging and a good rubbing between my palms before I applied...oh my, this is lovely! Initial Pop-out scents are carnation and berries, sort of sharp to start off with but mellowing out nicely over the morning. I've received a lot of compliments on it as well. It's definitely worth a second try if you weren't sure about it the first time.

Nature spirits and protectors of the world's groves and forests that appear as breathtakingly beautiful women. Hamadryads are born into a tree that serves as both a home and an anchor for the creature's soul. They are sometimes tricksters, sometimes seducers, sometimes helpful and benign, but they are always fierce and furious protectors of the natural world. Seven dry woods with mossy lichen and a gentle breeze of forest flowers. In the bottle, I say: Cinnamon is dominant, with just a touch of unidentifiable sweetness. On me it smells…: It's definitely cinnamon HELLO to start off with, but it calms down after a while into slightly sweet earthy smell touched with cinnamon - it's almost like a "grounded" cinnamon smell i like it a lot. K (the husband) thinks, on me, it smells like: "zesty!" When pressed for details, he said: "you smell really good, I like this on you a lot, it's more *you* than the last couple were." They say: Seven dry woods with mossy lichen and a gentle breeze of forest flowers. It's not only a keeper, but also an "add a 5ml to my list for the next order" -- i love it.
